New game won't load up

Post » Sat Dec 13, 2014 12:12 am

I started a new game, and it kept getting stuck on the load screen before I even got to play. I decided to uninstall everything, and re-install it, still nothing. Next I went a little overbored and deleted all my other users, all saved game data for other users, and stripped down some of my saved game folder. Still nothing.

Can anyone offer some advice?(other than not play elder scrolls)

Try deleting or archiving the most recent save (s) and see what happens. The game trys to display the screenshot from the most recent save in the selection screen. If that save is corrupted, it will hang at the load screen.

If that gets you past this, then turn off the autosave features, all of them, and instead make manual saves and use lots of slots rotating through them as you go.

Have you other games installed on your PS3. ???

Delete one of them (preferably a large one), but don't delete the saves from that game. !!!

Delete Skyrim as well. !!!

Then:

Do step 2 and 4 respectively

After:

Install skyrim without the DLCs. Try to start a new game. If you succeed, download your DLCs as well. (or install them from the disk if you have the L.E. Edition)

If you go that far, try your older saves if they working correctly. If not, just delete those. !!!

-----------

Then do what CCNAP suggested above:

Tried it all, and still nothing. I thought about the fact that there is a couple thousand hours worth of run time on the disk and even though disk look near flawless I remembered a few times when I took it out of the console and it was fairly hot. Maybe it got coked one too many times, maybe there were ware spots.....

Long story short I got a new game from Wally World and it runs fine now. Will see how long this lasts.
