New gameplay video shares details on Abilities

How so?

Well, it's been hard to gauge how much you will slide depending on certain factors (momentum for example), but it appeared as though the guy being chased (right after the medic section) slid under a 6' ledge, stood and then almost immediately managed another slide of roughly the same length.

It was quite a quick double up with a major stop to momentum so I'm wondering how easy it might be to maintain an almost continuous slide.

I think he meant downed, its mostly interchangeable at this point since nothing can by knock you past being downed in one blow,

Slime really wasn't that apparent when he closing the distance only when he fell, Maybe its tied to movement?

seems like the slime is really only noticeable when a person is downed or is sliding

After watching the localised (German) version of the trailer I wonder who is responsible for hiring voice actors. I want to give those people http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=en9Vd7Xl8oQ&#t=20s.

Whats the song in this trailer? I like it.

Probably part of the Game soundtrack. At least I hope so.

the amount of customisation blew my mind :) cannot wait!
on a side note, alot of people commenting on the video on youtube/joystiq/gameinformer seem to think the game is multiplayer only and thus are not interested. where has the assumption come from? people need to do research or im worried not enough people will experience the magical nature of brink!

alot more outfits then i remember, yay The Lost ,boo The Eel, i love how the Ops "Hack Turret"ability actually HACKS the turret and turns it on enemy instead of just blowing up like in TF2, how many abilities can you have on at once looked like 3 to me and if that's the case what is Up on the D-Pad used for, if anything?

I am not impressed with the animations (they look jerky), or the animation blending. The game is nearly a month from release, and this is not resembling the polish expected from triple A FPS titles.

I hope they fix this.

Can you direct me to some points in the video where the animations were ''jerky'' apart from the falling down thing?

This morning we put up a new gameplay vidoe that gives a taste of the 50+ Abilities you'll be able to unlock in Brink. Ability unlocks includes ones specific to individual character classes (Medic, Solider, Engineer, and Operative), as well as universal abilities.

Watch the video here

It still is essentially a multiplayer game. I mean the single player game is the same as the muiltiplayer with bots. If people do not like the multiplayer style of play, I doubt they will like this game.

I don't see what all the hubbub is about with the rim lighting. I barely noticed it at all. I've watched the video at least 2 dozen times now and I still have to actually "look" for it.

And I am pleased about shotguns not getting shafted, attachment-wise, like they do in so many other games.

Exactly. People have been brainwashed by mainstream FPSes, which in all honesty, are generally the same. Brink does everything it can to break off of that. You're basing it off the expectations of a mainstream Call of Duty clone, when you should be basing it off the expectations of Brink.

I am honestly confused with all the hate on the animations. Personally I thought the game looked wonderful, can someone give examples of the problems they saw

people are always gonna complain about games like this, after 36,982,694, copies of ultra real graphics but svcky gameplay games like CoD BOP or Battle Field or Medal of Honor they think a FPS HAS to look like that (granted they were some of my personal favs as well) alot of people just plain don't like change, i'm glad it looks as it does, i hate all these games that look the same and we always end up back to CoD even though the gameplay has gone downhill since MW2 ,because that's what they're used so it's what they like (and we've been playing it for so long and it's such a tyrant, kinda feels like its the ONLY FPS anymore),some people don't like fast paced awesomeness. and honestly if they'd rather play CoD BOps instead of Brink, do we really want them here?
