I was recently in a closed thread where people were talking about various elements of the Elder Scrolls games that have changed, for better or worse. I made a point that the guilds in the Elder Scroll series are too easy and it's annoying that any character can become the master of any guild despite lacking some or all of the skills that the guild specializes in. Someone responded to me that it is absolutely impossible to make a guild system that isn't like that. As a modder, gamer, and tinkerer in game mechanics I find that their statement not valid. I am, however, interested in what other people think could be done to fix this issue. (granted, it's only an 'issue' in my opinion)
If any of you agree that the current system is annoying for this reason, I am honestly curious on ways you think it could be worked over. I think it could be done by having a skill check requirement or something along those lines but I may be over looking something, or maybe some of you just have some far better or more creative ideas.
If you don't think I'm right, don't agree it's an issue, or don't have anything to actually contribute, don't post. I'm not interested in what game you think is better or why you disagree. This is a civil post, asking a honest question and looking for NOTHING else than the honest answers directly pertaining to the question asked.
