New Guilds

Post » Sun Feb 13, 2011 3:16 am

I voted for all except bakers guild, as more content means more choices for my character (s). (im sorry but bakers guild, seriously?!?, bow down to my mighty cupcake of strength +2 :P).

But i agree with a traders guild (like the caravans in fallout 3, or the gun runner and the other one in vegas). I voted for all the ones in the user made section. Factions should also have a bit more conflict than TES IV, take New Vegas for example, kill an NCR guy and they dislike, walk into a NCR with a Caeser Armour on and your dead. I can see something like this in Skyrim, walk into a chapel in Daedric armour and i bet the people in there will be pissed.

Please a fishing guild or at least the ability to fish in almost any body of water. It can seriously add fun to a game if done right (see: Zelda Twilight Princess).

Dude they should put in a necromancer's guild that would be sweet.

Just picture it raising an undead army to exterminate the mages guilds or maybe ressurect manimarco for a game of russian roulete :P

Would rather have factions instead of guilds.
Guilds feel so one dimensional. (Is that the right word?)
A faction can have more to it's story than just "We're crazily devoted to magic!/mercenary jobs!/stealing!/killing!".
So they should still have guilds but they should also have factions.

Of those on the list: Archeology, exploring, spy, daedra and collection sounds interesting.
Archeology for all those old ruins, finding out more of the old history.
Exploring to open up some locked maze like crypts with great loot in 'em.
The Spy Guild could be tons of fun for stealth oriented characters.
Daedra Cult, do I need a reason?
And for Collection I can see lots of thieving, assassination, exploration and scavenging quests going down.

this has probably already been written, but it would be fun to have rival guilds/factions. Join one, get excluded by the other. Make friends as well as enemies. Get some perks, get other ones locked. However, get banned from one guild and the other one might accept you among it′s ranks.

I voted for them all.

Things such as baking, crafting and alchemy could just give you access to unique weapons and groups, they would not be very good for quest, but I would still like diversity, the more guilds/factions the better for me at least.

The fighters guild and assassins guild will return I am sure, along with the mages guild or the Synod and College of Whispers, I am the most excited to see about the division of the mages guild and see the powers at play here.

I think its safe to say that we'll get

1. Blades (they may not be called blades and they've been part of main storyline before...)

2. Fighters' guild
3. Mages' guild
4. Thieves guild

Those are bread and butter of Elder Scrolls games.

I'd love to see the returning of religious guilds. Knights of the nine was a fantastic addition to the lore, but it could be expanded.. One could serve not only as a knight but as a full time monk, scholar, healer or priest. And since we are in skyrim, maybe something centered around Nordic religion. An order of monks worshipping the ancient dragon gods or something. Just be creative.

Also Oblivion lacked the political factions which was best part of morrowind faction system. I feel that we have a great chance of experiencing something similar this time around, after there is a civil war going on. A strugle for power. Clans without leader, kin against kin. A great setting for political factions similar to great houses.

A proper assasin/criminal guild would be a nice addition too for the evil characters.

Evil mages need more love too. The mages' guild needs an opposing faction, not necromancers though, they are boring. Something linked to Dragons or Daedra worship. It svcked that if you played a shady magic user, you would still have to join the mages' guild to get proper training and so forth

Last but not least, the vampire clans should return. Make the journey to darkside worthwhile ;)

I'd join the Sanguine Cult,
if there's one.
You forgot Necromancers Cult in the votes.

A Werewolf/Werecreatures based Guild... well alright a guild might be a little over the top but atleast a series of quests unique to people who has the curse.

Asides from the Blood Legion of Khrone?

I think joining the Imperial Legion or being in a Spy Guild would be pretty cool...

They really should make a return with the Imperial Legion, I liked it alot for my fighters and Barbarians, I would also like a spying guild for my sneaking characters.

the Imperial Legion

Why did they not include that in Oblivion, it was in Morrowind.

You had the Blades.

Also, there's no way you can join the Imperial Legion. Local factions are quarreling over whether to secede from the empire. There's no way the Imperial Legion has any sort of foothold in Skyrim at this point.

I could see the Blades maybe working, if you are trying to get them started again as a group simply dedicated to protecting people from the dragons. I guess we'll see though.

I really would like it to see a bunch of industrial guilds, where you can actually work to make a living.

I want to see the College of Whispers and Synod getting back together to make the Mage's Guild.

....

And I also want to see the Dunmer refugee houses *Telvanni, etc* attempting to grab land in Eastern Skyrim! >:P

A sort of Viking-ised nobility faction. There was meant to be one in Oblivion originally, but it got taken out at the last minute and that kind of irks me; I want my own land. :sadvaultboy:

Extreme sports guild (don't laugh) those Nords are crazy drunken adrenaline junkies and I could easily see them doing something along the lines of this http://www.insureguide.co.uk/sites/WhitakerSally/_files/image/extreme%20Sports.jpg through their snowy canyons.

With the Fighters, Mages and Thieves guilds, I would like to have a counter faction to join to get the other side of their quests. Kind of like joining the Blackwood Company, or the Necromancers. Would increase replayability is all...

A pure Nordic guild would be good. I've always wanted to see a pure Race guild, and Oblivion did not have any. Bring on a Nord Guild!

And if you join one, you can't join the other? Would very much added to replayability.

So according to the GI podcast, they are currently working on factions? Will this poll make a difference?
