I would suggest heading back to Megaton and selling the Chinese pistol and buying some 10mm ammo. Head back to the ultra-super-hyper-fantastic-mart-shop-store-place and sneak around taking shots at the wasteland dwellers with your 10mm pistol.

I used your lingo to keep the 'newb' feeling of excitement and wonder I've lost.

Could sell the BB gun as well. I'm sure you need some stim-packs or something as well....BUT! You shouldn't need a whole lot for the super-ultra-hyper-deal-making-baddy-infested-rotting-food-market-mart-shop-store.

Have fun brother!

A rifle is always a good find, as it gives you the accuracy you don't get with a pistol at range (I spent half an hour yesterday shooting at a sentry bot with a 32 pistol at 50 yards, it didn't work). Unfortunately, at a low level they're rare, and you're only likely to get one by killing other raiders in the wastes. There is one in a barn behind vault 101, but it will break without others to repair it with very quickly.

You can get Moira to repair it for you, but it'll cost ya. If you're lucky, an arms merchant might be outside Megaton and you'll be able to buy something more effective. If you need more caps and aren't picky about how you do it, there's a small house in Springdale... :gun:

sell everything but the 35. then buy a combat shotgun and ammo and a good amount of stimpacks and hotkey them then just run and gun and spam the stimpacks when you get low

I used 10mm pistol and rifles (still use them my char is near lvl 7). It would be bit easier if you are lvl 3-4 before going there. I found that pistol is easy to aim with, shotgun is kinda hard to use, 1-2 shots and VAT is gone. You have to run up really close and shoot.

Or, use the weapons you find there. I purchase two grenades at Moira's after selling hundreds of cups I've picked up from the Vault, on my way out. Those and the weapons you find, should be more than enough.

:lmao:

That image is just too funny. Wouldn't Moira question where a couple of hundred untarnished cups came from? Who is going to buy all that stuff from her?

Several of my older characters did this, especially my first one. Thinking of Oblivion's opening sewer run, if dat ting had value, I picked it up. I'd buy a clean cup any day, rather than the possible irradiated cup I'm drinking from now. They're only one cap! (and one pound.... for sturdiness, yeah that's it.)

I just did the same one. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Super-Duper_Mart It was a lot of fun, and I love how the laser pistol turns people into piles of glowing dust!

I was terrified of wasting ammo on my laser pistol, it was ages before I used a shot, and even then it was in a situation where I knew it would kill three enemies at once.

OK - If you are stealthy: Keep the 10mm pistol and baseball bat. Steal the hunting rifle from Lucas Sims house (stealthy-like!)
The hunting rifle is very common, so is ammo. And the sneak critical + rifle accuracy should keep you going until you can get a sniper rifle.

If you are run and gun: let Burke kill Sims- take his Chinese assault rifle- buy 5.56 ammo - enjoy
(enter mortiorities, talk to burke, go tell sims about burke, follow sims, let the scenario play out.)

There's also a Chinese assault rifle in the Wilkes house in Grayditch. Just go to the Super Duper Mart, then up the road over by the river. You'll find it, about 50 rounds of ammo, and a .32 pistol to boot.

If you take the mission "Wasteland Survival Guide" from Moria in Megaton, (ya know, the lady who repairs things, wears that jumpsuit, and talks too much?) you'll have to go in there and get some medical supplies from a safe in the back. Lots of good medical supplies there. Might I suggest finding the highway settlement of Arefu and then heading south-south-east until you find two settlers outside of a Vault. There are still some surprises inside but I won't ruin that for you. There might be some goodies for you. But for the love of God DON'T CLOSE THE VAULT DOOR. You'll be trapped forever with no way out... Unless you have a save game before that... or you start over ^^ Good Luck!

Honestly, just get and use whatever weapons you feel comfortable with. Usually this means high powered weapons like the .44 Magnum, so it all works out.

Trust me, you'll come across many weapons without the need to really go out and look for them. Just go out and explore

Not to be looking like a [censored] or something, but I just wanna set you straight,
Super hyper duper value mart- that's actually the Super Duper Mart
35 pistol- I think you mean .32 pistol
Wasteland Dwellers- Raiders, there aren't any other people in the Super Duper Mart.
Baceball Bat- that is spelled Baseball!
invontory- inventory
mechen- machine
lazer pistol- laSer pistol

Lolz, I am the GRAMMAR POLICE! Spellchecking and fixing the grammar for the greater good.

Agreed, sledgehammers are GOD. I don't bother with melee points but for some reason sledgehammers are still awesome :/

For human foes, the dart gun is fun, as is the shishkebab. Both will make short work of your typical raider. And the dart gun is silent, so you can sneak around and deal death at a distance.

The Dart Gun is way too useful, it makes even the toughest enemies a sitting duck. I only ever cripple limbs by targeting them with weapons now.

Using the Dart Gun makes things like this possible --- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8UOBZSEans :lmao:
