New Hair

ooo... and speaking of which, this is a 50's thing, they still had the demob mentality back then. Hence all the suits look like demob suits, all the hair is short etc. WWII had an enormous affect on fashion, for both men and women. (Women in dungarees and jumpsuits? who'd have thunk it?). It wasn't until the generation after that fashion started to change, the rocker look etc, and that was mostly to counteract the blandness of the demob generation.

So long hair in Fallout is more likely down to lack of scissors than a fashion statement.

(I love long hair, on men and women. They have always worn it like that. It's the demob/McCarthy mentality that labels long-haired men "communists" and "Un-American" etc. Didn't Custer have long hair? I rest my case)

Don't forget the one piece of clothing from WW2 that is one of the greatest bits of fashion in history, the Trenchcoat. I hope there are some in NV or Bomber Jackets.

In F3, mods gave new, great hairstyles.

The demos I've seen of FNV have the faces and hairstyles looking VERY similar to F3.

Why should the hairstyles look "50's"?

It's been over 200 years after an apocalypse.

Look back 200 years and tell me hairstyles haven't changed.

well, mainly because people have had other things on their minds.. like finding water.. dogding deathclaws...

There are "modern" styles, but they are tribal, one-off's, rather than a general "fashion"

Yeah, great, new hairstyles... for women. I realize that the female hairstyles are definitely worse than the male ones, but there is still more to be desired with diversity. If you can point me out to a hair mod that gives a character short but messy hair and doesn't make them look like they're from anime, then I'd be very appreciative.

Its because the Fallout world is a future as seen from the 50s, and they didn't change much in the way of fashion.

Ehhhhh. The thing abotu Fallout is it seems to be divided in two styles canonically. First there's Pre-War, which is a retro-futuristic 1940's-50's idea of the American Dream. Then after the Great War, we have a very Mad Maxesque world, Leather Armor, Raider Gear, Bandits, etc etc. So I think the hairstyles are a bit of a half and half.

Nevermind.

In real life I'd cut my hair almost all off because I know taking care of curly hair with no washing is not going to end up good. I'd have a giant dread, but I want to look good in my rpg so I want long hair.

I don't really need any hairstyles I wouldn't consider in real life. For that matter, a buzz cut and rough beard is fine for me. I badly wish we could have 5 O' Clock Shadow or unshaven though.

For me I usually use Smooth Wave and sometimes use Rough Beard with it. It's my favorite combo IMO, and it also reminds me of dear old Dad T_T

I'm hoping that turning up the beard and moustache sliders in the tone section will make the whole face look like it has an unshaven beard as opposed to just the outline of a goatee.

Lol, well the 'Rough beard' is when I rp I've been in the wastes for days. Usually I just stick to the smooth wave and clean shaven. Sometimes I'll put on a suit, and I look so suave. :disguise:

Also, after I become a General Chase fan after playing Op:Anch, I like to dress my character in Colonel Autumns coat and sarge/stranded style. :vaultboy:
