Actually providing information on the idea would be ideal in order to recieve the feedback you want.

It will be an extra to my City of Balmora mod, as in 'true' Hlaalu Expansion. The Hlaalu are true rich fat cats and occupied the western Gash at the height of Gnaar Mok, at the feet of Redoran and just some cells north of Caldera. It will be a fortified city but less important trade hub. Even so it will have quite some merchants Hlaalu style.

If you look at the http://images.uesp.net/2/24/MW-map-Great_House_Influence.jpg you see that the spot is logical.

As for lore I am still thinking...

I will be glad to answer specific questions

I don't know, MW is pretty crowded as it is, I'd personally prefer just to see the cities that exist made larger, but hey, it's not my mod.

That is why I made this poll, what is the general thought on an extra city, and how large? I can include it now, later will be more difficult with reference to quests etc.

Morrowind is pretty crowded along the coasts, but I think you could easily fit a town around 2 cells large in pretty seamlessly somewhere. I wouldn't put it in the Ascadian Isles region though. I think it would be better off somewhere in the West Gash region because of the sheer amount of undeveloped land being rather large in that area. I could see a town fitting between Hla Oad and Gnaar Mok. A town could also fit between Gnaar Mok and Gnisis or even further north along the coast - or further inland if your not making a port.

Hlaalu settlements north of Gnaar Mok would most likely piss off House Redoran. They barely tolerated Caldera after all, and that was just because Hlaalu had Imperial backing. (One of the Redoran councillors even styles himself "Lord of the South Gash" or something along those lines.)

Rather than building a whole new town, perhaps make some sort of questline related to clearing out Hlormaren and then turning it into a proper Hlaalu town? I think LGNPC PAX Redoran did something similar with Marandus, sans the clearing out part.

Thank you for your input Syrcanus. My idea was (as mentioned in earlier post) to locate the city a bit northeast of Gnaak Mok, inland towards Indarys Manor, but on other side of the mountains, between Sjoring Heart something and the Redoran Farm with the guar robbers quest. So yes West Gash, but still rather south part, further North is more likely to be Redoran anyway.

hmm, i reckon some sort of military hlaalu city would be cool. IDK why.. maybe it was a stronghold against the imperials once, long ago?
but for location, i'd go right on the other side of the mountains where Maar Gan , and build it into the wall :P

i voted yes ;)

Oops, I'd forgotten the West Gash was strictly Redoran for the most part. There presence in the area is so minimal that I always forget. :pinch:

What you said sounds like a good spot. The Hlormaren idea is also worth considering. There's also Telasero east of Suran that could be used instead of Hlormaren possibly if you like the fort idea XB mentioned. Telasero has a fighter's guild quest there where you have to rescue Sondaale from Sixth House cultists though, so any reclaiming would have to wait till after that quest was done unless you modify it somehow. I'm wondering if Sondaale could be rescued in vanilla even without first getting the fighter's guild quest... can't remember.
