New hub update - The Sounds of Skyrim

Breckon, I can see you're reading this thread. Convince your bosses to release the theme, or else I will see to it that the army of fans here overload your twitter with repetitive requests until you do, or die trying! (or, once the game comes out, because that technically constitutes releasing the theme)

No, in Morrowind. He was out in the planes of Oblivion when the great disappearance happened, and when he returned to Tamriel every Dwarf was gone. He's the only one left. He also suffers from corprus disease, and if that didn't kill him, the eruption of Red Mountain might have.

The Dwemer's golden souls were used to make the skin of Numidium. If they're not dead, they're certainly not alive, and certainly well beyond reach, what with Numidium going kaboom at the end of Daggerfall.

I want to know how you know that? Because as far as any lore is concerned, no one knows what happened to them. There has been some speculation as to what MIGHT have happened but there is no definitive proof. In fact the only evidence of any Dwemer being "killed" are the ash piles in Mournhold.

As for the themes. I loved Morrowind's theme but I like Oblivion's more because it feels more epic and it just really flows through you and has an odd effect on you. Also, the environment music is BEAUTIFUL in Oblivion. It truly gives me goosebumps when the music in Oblivion plays while you walk across the world at the right times like sunset for some songs and night for others.

This new theme is beautiful. Already, it feels even more definitive to the series than I think the tracks from Morrowind and Oblivion ever were.Morrowind's theme, while very melodious and "fantastical" sounding to me, kind of loses itself halfway through as the brass becomes simply overbearing. There's the distinct opening minute and the ending, but inbetween you just kind of lose yourself in it. By contrast, Oblivion's theme had a very nice and distinctive opening but the rest was all very weak and you felt less of a progression than its predecessor had. This combines the best of both worlds, exhilarating like Oblivion's but with the playful notes and instrumental flourishes of Morrowind's. The Dragonish choir only adds a further degree of weight and memorability to it all.Seriously psyched - I just hope Jeremy Soule can deliver equally well with the rest of the game's tracks. :)

I liked the variation of 'Reign of the Septims' used in Oblivion's opening cinematic a lot better than the version that played in the game's menu. Sadly, they never released that version. :(

Who knows, if they're feeling generous, they might give us the song I mentioned above as well. One can hope, right? :P

Then again, we could've guessed Morrowind's theme represented the entire series back when http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPEEp5R_pOo was Oblivion's original main theme...

Never knew it... Well, I know there's two versions of "Nerevar's Rising", directsound-ed the soundtrack - Like this version better, too. But I didn't know it was to be used for Oblivion.

In the end, they did right. Each theme has to have its own personality, and this one ? It was Morrowind, nothing else. "Reign of the Septims", although inferior, was at least different. With Skyrim, yeah, the theme has got its own feel and mind. Screams Nords very loudly, albeit incomprehensibly. :P

By the way, does the new theme has a real name beyond "Skyrim's theme" ?

Quick question

Did they have to have everything that was said (and that was on the screen) including the little crumbs of info about the game "pre-approved" by the powers that be?

I knew it. I knew we haven't heard the main theme, yet. The one from the trailer was too short. I'm glad Jeremy Soule's back, as well.

No one said that the Dwemer were extinct. The Dwemer just vanished. Besides, in Morrowind and Oblivion there was still a Dwemer alive. He is most likely dead after 200 years now but yeah, they aren't really "extinct" just misplaced for centuries hehe.

"and Oblivion", Which Dwemer was that..... :/

I didn't know it either 'till a few months ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=de1M4Q_g2eg&feature=related

The song in the trailer was called "Sons of Skyrim", I think. I dunno how the main theme is called.

Wow, loved, loved the theme! I have loved all TES-themes so far, though, but this one was so awesome. Hearing the familiar theme with the choir on it brought a tear to my eyes. Great job, Bethesda!

Also I would like to point out that the Dwemer sphere actually made it's first appearance in Redguard.

Let's hope Bethesda actually labels things "Dwemer" instead of "Dwarven" in Skyrim this time...

This is the best hub update, by far.
