New hub update - The Sounds of Skyrim

Post » Thu Feb 03, 2011 4:04 am

My flash plagin couldn't handle the epicness of the theme. The moment he stopped playing it, it crashed lol

EDIT After making my flashplayer work overtime, I've now seen it all. Loved this update

The Centurion's animation was pretty solid, too.

Stuff to note:

1st Video
New Enemy: Dwemer Sphere (Originally from MW), He talks about the MW version but that is clearly a new model on the screen. Looks cool, very steampunk.
New Spell: Iron Flesh, Armor enhancement spell.

2nd Video
Rough Voice work from Max von Sydrow (voice of Esbern, the Blade): New dialog
Possibility of Esbern dying at some point in the story (more teased than confirmed)

3rd Video
Dragonshouts have different "levels" which are additional words. Will be "spoken" by the PC when cast.
Dragons will have dialog

4th Video
Jeremy Soule is back
Badass Viking Choir
ES theme is back and better than ever

Edit: I hate forums... By the time I list everything someone has beaten me to it.

Finally, an exciting update.

Like I said in the other thread, Lampert seems like a very cool guy. Passionate too.

Ok, so I thought the theme would be the same as in the teaser trailer, which was ok, but more eh than great. Then I heard the theme in this video. I was afraid it'd be like the Oblivion theme (really hated that one) but holy crap, this one DID give me goosebumps. And I have been cynical about Skyrim thus far, but that theme... great work to all involved.

The Skyrim Theme is just awesome! I love how it sounds a lot like Morrowinds (well, it's the same melody, I know, but somehow Oblivion's doesn't spark the magic for me as the other two).
I definitely will buy the soundtrack...in 10 months :(.

I am so happy that Jeremy Soule is back and composed the music for Skyrim. The theme is epic, and does send chills down my spine. An excellent update; I think the work that goes into sound design and editing is absolutely fascinating!

I've always really really liked the Morrowind theme.
Hearing that it was incorporated in Skyrim's... oh yes! It's awesome! It's Skyrim!

My god, the Skyrim theme is amazing  Its bringing back all my Morrowind nostalgia and adding to it another layer of awesome. I can't wait to hear the full thing!

Seconded heavily. Doesn't look like we're the only ones too.

Have refrain till now from shameful groveling and puerile begging but please... I don't know, put it on itunes if you want to make monies... :D

That's just dev talk for, you can kill them, like you can kill anyone else in the game. I doubt they'll have a branching story.

I listened to that fourth video a whole bunch of times now, and every time he clicks the theme away with 'and here you go!' I'm going 'Awww!' :P
Seriously, incredible theme. It has somehow retained the subtlety of the Morrowind version AND added a kick-ass choir.
