to be honest I'm not to happy about Jeremy Soule's return. Oblivion's music was mediocre at best and there are tons of much more capable composers than him. I was hoping for something/someone fresh. What makes me somewhat optimistic is that this time the game setting is much more "Themed", I mean, oblivion was one of the most generic and dullest game environments ever (I LOVED the game nonetheless), and Skyrim with the Scandinavian/Celtic theme gives much more possibilities to express the feel in the music than boring fields of grass and nice little forests.

I seriously hope for something on the line of The last of the mohicans/Braveheart/Celtic music. Will Jeremy be able to pull that off? Will see.

One thing I have to admit, the main theme is an INSTANT classic/HIT

Would been funny if they had Arnold Schwarzenegger or Ralf Moeller doing the voice of some a conan look-alike drunken nord.

The dragon voice should be dark. Deep.

Something like Sovereign in Mass Effect but that sounds more "real" and less like a computer. That would be pretty good for when the dragons speak their language I think.

Michael Dorn would be perfect. I think his experience speaking Klingon would go a long way speaking Draconian.

Maybe he's a voice in the game?

Sorry if this has been mentioned before...

Oh my god that theme! I think I got the biggest nerd-gasm I've ever had (and that says a lot). It was just... wonderful.

I'm not sure I understood the part about them having to have dragon shouts done in each race's voice? It seems to imply that we will actually hear our character saying them. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I kind of like the idea that our toons are voiceless in the previous games.

Imagine a battle against one of the dragons, with http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VT7g04UdQys theme as fighting music, and the dragon being voiced by Arnie.

Hi!

I just did a quick mixdown from the two bits we heard in the teaser and in the GI hub video:

http://soundcloud.com/bobbysolace/skyrim

Cheers!

Sounds good! I'm bashing my head against a wall to it, tearing beard out and roaring along, to get in the mood. ;)

I think Steven Barr has a voice suitable for dragons, he played Wrex in Mass Effect, or Keith Szarabajka who voiced Harbinger in Mass Effect 2. You can Harbinger`s voice here.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OaRdcVYTjRw&feature=related

But Sovereign's voice > Harbinger's voice. But yeah, Wrex style sounds good.

In any case after watching those videos, I don't envy Mr Lampert's job at all. Hard work, and it has to be just right.

You hear them grunt all the time. A shout won't hurt.

A less mechanical and more magical sovereign or harbinger would fit very well.

I also like how it's implied that we're back to "kill anybody," the return of centurions confirming my theory about the Dwemer Exiles, and I just love all this "how-tos of Game development" I've been looking for everywhere.

Remember, death sounds and such COULD mean they're called "death" in the CS, but they could ALSO fire when somebody is knocked unconscious.

Yeah but Sovereign is too mechanical, Harbinger is closer to a more organic feel, I think they both have great voices :D

Actually I hope they'll surprise us with the Dragon voices. Like Dagoth-Ur. I did not expect him to sound like that. :)
