That's how it should work, hopfully, although this would assume we had attribute perks, which I hope we do. Be able to pick perks that raise speed and jump height.

Yeah, it's in the interview they just released today in the very 1st paragraph listed under skills and attributes... and it sounds to me like strength will be under health too.

That doesnt really confirm attribute perks though.

No, it doesn't. I'm sure there will be though, but you're right, it's not a confirmation on attribute perks. At least we can safely assume that we can increase speed and things though without having to waste perks, right?

Its totally logical, all that is missing is confirmation. I agree, its the only conclusion anyone has been able to come to, it just needs confirmation. Your second point is interesting though, would they actually be 'perk' perks? Would they count towards the 50?

EDIT:
I never said they anything about that. I gave no opinion on the matter.

I am talking about base speed. And base jump, like how it Fallout it does not change.

Your implementing Earth limitations on Nirn, they are not the same, period. super human speeds and jump height are realistic for Nirn.

I never said they anything about that. I gave no opinion on the matter.

Then there's probably a few others you might want to check out. IGN should have them up.

Yeah, I would assume attribute perks, if they exist, would count toward the 50. That's what you were postulating, right?

I was trying to say we can make an educated guess in Skyrim based on what happened in FO3. Though I guess you can change jump height, what stat increased jump btw? I did not say I agreed with what I predicted(about same walk, run, sprint, etc).

Remember, armor slows your character down. So thieves will be in light armor, thus they will run faster than someone clad in heavy armor.

Aha! Yes I like your logic. =D :cookie:

i hope they reduced both run speed and jump height and especially get rid of the ability to change direction while in midair. sprint can be fairly fast since its only for short periods. i hope that khajit get a small speed boost over other races in sprint since they are cats.

oblivion and morrowind jump heights were obnoxious. you could literally jump over people and it was a huge combat exploit. FO3 speed (slightly faster with a mod) was pretty close and the jump height was a bit more realistic. there was even a sprint mod for FO3 which made made it near perfect.

another thing they need to look at is the stupid fast swim speed. the only race that should move in water fairly quickly are argonians for obvious reasons.

Well, I assume that any perks associated with athletics/attributes of that sort would be dodges or something, probably not simply speed, jump, etc. upgrades as you can just get that from raising stamina, but I don't know. There might be something extra special for perks related to the normal stuff (speed, jumping, etc.), that you just can't get from raising stamina. That's obviously just speculation though.

EDIT: Maybe I misunderstood your question. I assume attribute perks, if they exist, would count toward the 50. That's what you were postulating, right?

Yes, thats what I was referring to. That brings up anther thing, if Stamina has perks then health and Magicka would too. Do they count towards the 50? That's a lot of perks based on attribute towards the 50? On that particular matter, Im not sure if Id be for that or against it. It would seem that attribute perks, benefits, whatever you want to call them, wouldnt count.

I remember hearing about small perks that go along with leveling up health, magic and stamina actually. It was on an early interview, possibly the very first podcast?

Whoever said it (probably Todd) mentioned that you choose to add to health, magic or stamina at every level up and occasionally those give other boosts as well.

It would make sense. After three health levels, you gain a resistance to damage. After three magic levels, you get an increase in the speed of recovery. After three stamina levels, you get an increase in running speed.

Lol, i know huh! Its funny, at first glace if i were to JUDGE him i would say he looks like the over-confident smart ass nerdy type dude that needs an ass whippin!

Why though? I've always felt Todd seems pretty honest and down-to-earth. He tells you what they're doing, when he thinks it might not work, the reasons they did it, etc. all with a calm and sincere demeanour. He never brags or anything.

Racial perks would simply be how you would likely see the bonuses from having picked your race..

Under your perk list you would ALREADY have some perks even at level one all these being your racials. Its how traits were actualy handled in fallout new vegas.. you saw them in your perk list as the game just handles them as perks you already have.

Uhm..don't hold me to this but I'll tell you what I told someone in another thread

If I'm not mistaken I read in an interview floating around somewhere that as far as crime goes they're gonna make crimes contextual in the way that if somebody likes you a lot, and you stumble into their house in the middle of the night instead of kicking you to the curb and calling the guards they'll act concerned, offer to let you stay etc. Or if you're in a bar and you pick up that bottle of ale on the counter instead of calling you a thief he'll just want some sort of compensation

Well that wasn't about crime, it was about how Radiant AI is now fully in place and they won't just sit there telling you to get out. If they like you they will invite you in to stay and if they hate you, they may instantly call the guards or something along those lines. It was about AI, not the crime system.

Ah but it was about how the AI reacts (or doesn't react in this case) to certain crimes.
I'm not saying this is the entire new crime system, but undoubtedly Radiant AI will play a big part in dealing with crime.

Now that I think about it, the perks are related to skill trees, correct? So you're probably right, the perks probably have nothing to do with the attributes. However....

If this is right... we would still get attribute perks just by leveling the 3 attributes. I guess we just need to find that podcast to confirm it.
