[RELz] New Imperial Clothing and Armor

Post » Tue Mar 22, 2011 10:17 pm

Name: New Imperial Clothing and Armor
Version: 1
Date: 4/1/2010
Category: Items, Objects and Clothes
Author(s): Kristoffer
Source: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=30796

Description
===========
This mod adds two new sets of armor and a new set of clothes to the game, called New Imperial.

Location
========
Hidden somewhere in the Elven Gardens district of the Imperial City is a small unlocked chest. Find the chest, take the armor and clothing.

Details
=======
This mod adds a set of Light Armor and a set of Heavy Armor called New Imperial Armor; each set includes Boots, Cuirass, Greaves, and Gloves but no helm since I dislike helms. It also adds a set of clothing called New Imperial Raiment, New Imperial Pants, and New Imperial Shoes. I may have misspelled Raiment in the actual name of the item, however.

Install
=======
2. Extract the files to (install folder)\Oblivion\Data\
4. Start Oblivion Launcher or your 3rd-party mod manager of choice, click 'Data Files' (if you used the launcher), place a checkmark beside New Imperial Clothing and Armor.esp.

Uninstall
=========
3. Start Oblivion Launcheror your 3rd-party mod manager of choice, click 'Data Files' (if you used the launcher), uncheck the .esp file.
M. Delete the .esp and .bsa file. There are no other files.

Incompatibility
===============
This mod is more compatible than any other mod that I know of. However, if any other mod changes the Elven Gardens District layout (perhaps Better Cities? I don't know) then it may make the chest inaccessible. Aside from that it should be completely compatible with anything else out there, yes this includes body mods.

History
=======
1.0, 2010/3/30 - Initial release; fixed error in name of light gauntlets.
0.2, 2010/3/30 - Created it.
0.0, 2010/2/01 - Though about it.

Licensing/Legal

You can do whatever you want with this mod but don't complain to me if it doesn't work or your PC blows up. Unless it's raining, then you can't. Sheogorath might catch wind of it and that would just spell disaster.

That's an interesting assortment of images you've got posted there.

Not sure if any but the first one are related to the mod, though.

I think what most people are complaining about is that none of the images actually show the armor or the clothes. The only one even remotely showing an armor is labelled "old_look" which indicates it's not the "current" look either.

I'm not talking for myself but people often want to see "what they get" before even considering to actually get it.
Pictures of inventory lists don't give them what they're looking for. And as you correctly mentioned yourself already, the stats one can see there don't tell anything because they're dependant of the current skills of the wearer.
So what people are waiting for are actual pictures of your char(s) wearing the items you created.

That's all true, but what amused me yesterday was that the images included a screen shot of the gamesas forums, a Khajiit wearing Argonian skin and one other slightly crazy image that I can't recall.

Oh, I must have missed this period.
Anyways, we all messed up something and quite likely will again some time, and it's fixed now, so it's a thing of the past.
Nothing to worry about, OP.

The "Khajiit wearing Argonian skin" was the Argonian Dar-jee in Leyawiin. The other slightly crazy image was one saying "You cannot eat quest items"

This mod didn't really go over as well as I had hoped. It was supposed to be an April Fool's Day tribute to Hans Christian Anderson:

The items, when worn, don't show up on the character at all. Had I posted screenshots of what they really looked like, it would have ruined the joke.

Aw, dang.

I wish I had downloaded it. I found the images very amusing, and actually thought you were having a bit of fun with it, but it never occurred to me that it was an April Fools' joke.

Of course, I also panicked earlier when the forums briefly said they were shutting down for four days or so.

Can't say I see any relation to Andersen, but it's difficult to get across humor in those circumstances. Especially when the text gave every appearance of being serious, and at least a few mods on TES Nexus are done by people who are both humorless and inept. ;)

It's presented as fancy clothes fit for an emperor, but instead makes you appear as if you're not wearing anything. I think the relationship to The Emperor's New Clothes by Hans Christen Anderson is fairly apparent. Maybe the addition of armor into the mix made for a distracting element.

Irony abounds: apparently Hans Christian Anderson was born on April 2, 1805 - 205 years ago.
