Hi there. Idiot here again.

I'm looking through a tutorial on how to create a quest and dialogue I found in someone's sig. (sorry I forgot who it was :blush: but thanks)

It's telling me in order to create dialogue to make a new quest, blah blah, create a topic and then...boom. I try to create info for the topic but every time I right click to create a new info, it crashes once I click "new." Any help, any one?

That might be the issue where you fix it by just plugging in a microphone...?

I had this issue on my old computer, having a microphone plugged it at all times stopped it from ever happening again. It doesnt happen for some people though, mircophone or not. :shrug:

Um...I don't think I explained it well enough. I'm just trying to create a dialogue tree and creating the top of it. Did I misread the tutorial?

I never had this problem, I dont have a microphone plugged in, but I do have the microphone 'activated' in my sound card controls.

@mooguy - plug in a microphone and make sure its setup to work in your >control panel >sounds.

No, this is just an issue that some people have, some dont. Its when making any new info's in the dialog tutorial, not even doing things with sound or recording.

Crazy... computers are weird!

I've been getting this since I got the GECK, it makes modding quests or just NPCs in general nigh impossible, and is extremely limiting. I don't have a microphone and can't seem to be able to fix this.

Try to use a headphone and stick it in the microphone connector. As I changed my motherboard and installed Windows 7 i also ran into this Geck bug. I didn't remember the solution a this time but wondered why it suddenly worked again as I realized I put my headphone in the wrong connector.

You might even be able to get some programs that lie to your computer and say there is a microphone plugged in. I don't know of any, or if they exist. But it could be worth a shot. Or, you could go buy a really crappy cheap 5 dollar microphone from somewhere.

I think lowdy lowdy would be an exaggerated way of writing lordy lordy, which I believe is an exclamation of sorts.
