@BootySweat, thanks for that, you actually put more work into the interview than they did.

This interview is the equivalent to throwing an apple into a room filled with locust, except the apple has already been stripped down to the core.

I thought it was one of the worst Skyrim interviews we have seen so far.

This journalist has Skyrim's Lead Producer, Craig Lafferty, available and ready to answer detailed questions about the game and he doesn't ask him even one interesting question. We actually learned more information from the gamereactor print interview way back in February.

I don't understand this. How can an interview be good if there's nothing new to be learned from it?

Paraphased transcript (this is actually all the questions in this interview) - Gamereactor interviewing Craig Lafferty (who is chewing gum the entire time):

Q: What's it like showing your game at E3
A: It's fun

Q: It's a jaw dropping game
A: Thanks, we tried, and you can go where you want, be who you want.

Q: How long have you been working on it?
A: About 3 years. We have a new A.I. system, new renderer, new UI, lots of new stuff, we call it the Creation Engine.

Q: What does that mean for the gameplay?
A: You don't pick out, I want to be a wizard, or I want to be a mage or whatever. You just start playing and go where you want, be who you want.

Q: That's what's so great about TES, that you can really do whatever you want, even collect spoons.
A: Yeah, we have Radiant Story, so we take it to the next level, you can really go where you want, be who you want.

Q: That's a big dragon, tell us about the dragons
A: You find out you're a dragonborn and you can speak the language of the dragons and shout like the dragons.

Q: Is that magic?
A: Not exactly, you can learn magic, and the shouts are different.

Q: Can you tell us about the story?
A: You start out as a prisoner -- obviously you don't die --and you don't have to do the main quest right away, you can go where you want, be who you want,

Q: This game looks great - what does that mean for the player experience?
A: We have a new engine, it's very detailed, and you can go where you want, be who you want.

Q: You can affect the economy, right?
A: NPCs have jobs in the game and the player can do the same activites, even sabotage a lumbermill, so you can be who you want, do what you want.

Q: Thank you for your time, Craig. I'm looking forward to November.
A: So am i.

thanks!

Lol... at the questions...

Off-topic, and I'm not sure if it's been posted already... but Skyrim won "Best Console Game" and of course "Best Role Playing Game" by Game Critics Awards: http://www.gamecriticsawards.com/winners.html
Bioshock Infinite won the best of show awards though... like usual

@ around 3 minutes I see a crossbow? Probably another game right?

yeah its another game. I don't think Skyrim would have leaky pipes shooting out steam like that.

*sigh* Why do interviewers never ask the right questions? They either ask about something we already know or something that is completely frivolous....

At least this guy asked legitimate questions unlike IGN.

I'm holding the Euro journalists to higher standards.

A lot of the information we know today about the game has been revealed thanks to the penchant of the foreign gaming press for asking detailed, interesting questions. I gave up on all the American journalists a long time ago.

I'm really sorry but I have to say this was a regretable moment.
Terrible interview.
Terrible performance by the interviewee.

I'm sure he's the most competent producer off camera though.

I remember a massive drought for Oblivion after E3 2005. I don't think we saw a single new screen from July all the way until mid-October. I hope Bethesda doesn't go that route again, but we'll see.

And on a side note, why do members of the press rarely ever ask specific, detailed questions? All they'd need to do is take a quick look at these forums to learn what people really want to know, and they could end up breaking some great new info.

Because clearly those answers won't be given until Bethesda's up to it. Which their not yet. Asking anyways would be a waste of time.

That is not true at all. The journalists asking [censored] questions simply haven't taken the time to familiarize themselves with the game or with previous TES games.

We have seen many times a number of foreign journalists who appear to have actually played Oblivion or Morrowind ask some poignant questions and get very interesting answers. In fact, this is how many details about Skyrim that we know today were first revealed.

Interesting that he said "stats are still there, they're just under the surface." (notice the proper use of "there" and they're")

(and I applaud you for the orthodoxy)

We'll hsve to wait and see whether such statement was the by-product of the gum-chewing.

Worst Interview ever IMO

Interviewers should not ask such stupid questions & questions that's already answered

I like the game but i just want to have some new info

I really lol'd how Craig lafferty was reacting to all those questions i think he was thinking why do i need to answer the same questions all day long...

You can go where you want,be who you want

By being good at smithing you can increase a weapons damage, even make your own.
