New Launch Trailer

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 5:50 pm

Pausing in each bit and looking for details.

BosCom Phone and Television Services. I wonder if we'll be able to, like tuning into radio stations, tune into television broadcasts on our Pip-Boy?

"Don't shoot..." - When the angle switches to being able to see his face, he's still talking but his mouth isn't moving :P Probably just trailer editing. Sadly, the lip-syncing and other aspects of the character models I'd say are on par with other games that are at least 5+ years old. Which says a lot because of how much video games have advanced during that time. I'm not joining the haters - I'm just pointing it out. It's an aspect of Bethesda's games that I accept.

Is the HUD green really bright? And I really dislike the way that the middle compass with location icons element looks - not to mention the other HUD elements. I really liked Fallout 3's. This UI is a little too plain, it lacks a sense of Fallout / Vault-Tec design. Fallout 3's HUD wasn't broken and didn't need fixing.

One thing that does excite me is that it doesn't seem to be a "search for muh family" kind of story.

it did on pc l0l but I'm sure this one will too

idk which 'look' i prefer however. i kinda like the simple design, and the green seems closer to the FO1 green, and I'm positive it's changeable. i always made mine white in NV/FO3. thought it looked best.

I think it starts that way. Like FO3 started with finding daddy and NV started with finding Benny.

Yeah I noticed that, I think there was a whole thread a while back about it, but yeh, I definitely know what you mean.

This made me laugh, "you dont find the institute, the institute finds you" I was like no, I will find it and if they hurt my dog I'll blow it [censored] SKY HIGH!!!!

Indeed. I still have slight hope, and regardless, seems like the BoS is there to stop the Institute from making robots, so, it is time to kill me some robots.

Not in Fallout 1 and 2... unless you count a non-canon Monty Python and the Holy Grail easter egg.

The HUD colour is a bit bright, but thankfully, you can adjust your Pip-boy colour and the HUD colour separately with RGB sliders, to get the exact colour you want. Personally, I prefer the paler green from FO3.

Everyone and their mother called the "are androids people too?" storyline. Gotta say the game sure looks fun and pretty.

Thanks guys, I figured the color would be customizable. Re: HUD design - simple design doesn't have to equal ugly :P

Personally, I think the part where the protagonist says "This time I'm ready. Because I know war..." is a huge hint to the SS having taken part in Anchorage at some point or another. But hey, I could be wrong. It also looks like those in Diamond City will be anti-Synth judging by them holding the guy up and he's trying to convince them he's human.

How do you know?

Still waiting to see what makes the institute the bad guys. Can't wait to reacquire some of their missing toasters though and any Commy hippy railroad schmuck that gets in my way is getting their necks stepped on. Thieves they are. Liars and thieves.

It was already hinted in the prewar trailers that the playercharacter is a war veteran.

Maybe the soldier we play in the O:A simulation is the SS... :P

It'd be kind of cool if that was the combat tutorial segment.

Can already see myself using that word...

"hey buddy... seen any toasters around here?"

"nope..."

"You're a toaster!?"

"what NO!"

Given the achievements annonimity on your decision making (endgame being - decide the fate of boston) and the fact one is labeled as "institutionalised" i think there will be a choice. Id side with them.

[censored] being the good guy - androids, cybernetically augmented humans and technology beyond what the people in DC could comprehend has me sold.
