New Load Order - Totally Exhausted

Post » Wed May 29, 2013 10:14 am

So here's the deal. I've got a new game going on, and I'm trying some of the immersion mods, and I'm running into a huge problem: I am constantly exhausted ALL THE TIME. On top of that, the weights of weapons seem to be way off.

Assuming one feather = 1 pound, there is no way that an iron short sword is going to weigh 23 pounds! Most medieval swords weighed no more than 5 lbs tops, and those were the two-handers!

Here's my load order. If anyone spots anything that is responsible for this, please let me know, because it's really ridiculous.

Active Mod Files:

Spoiler

Edit: It occurs to me that by looking at all the weapons provided via TES4Edit, if you divide the given encumbrance by 10, the numbers aren't that far off. However, you can't do that with the rest of the miscellaneous items out there. On top of that, mods that affect encumbrance are looking at everything as if 1 feather = 1 lb.

For example, I have found that T.I.E. modifies how encumbrance works by reducing the multiple from 5 to 3.6, plus it seriously changes the weights of the swords, nearly doubling their weight.

So lets say I have a strength value of 40, x 3.6 = 144 maximum weight before I'm exhausted.

If weapons in Oblivion are considered to be accurately weighted in feathers, then real world equivalents would be 1/10. So a 48 feather sword would be 4.8 lbs. That also means maximum encumbrance needs to be considered accordingly. Therefore 144 maximum feather = 14.4 maximum lbs.

There is no way that someone is going to get instantly drop dead exhausted carrying 14.4 lbs.

So what's the conventional wisdom regarding weight and encumbrance in Oblivion?

You could try checking your data\ini folder for Fundament - Game Settings.ini which may have been included with your Bundament install. Comment out the fatigue burn rate section if its active. Just a shot.

I had this constant exhausting before with Duke Patrick's mods and Basic Physical Activities (which you are not using). While I don't know what the conflict could be, I would imagine yours also involves DP. Try turning off his mods and maybe the exhaustion will stop? I'm not sure about this either, but I think TIE changes the weights of weapons and armors...

Sidenote: I notice you are using Reneer's Guard Overhaul. Your mod works with it now?

TIE is definitely part of the problem, as it reduces the max encumbrance multiplier (see my edit in my OP). I know DP has some influence, but I will have to double check.

RGO does work with the patch I created for it. :) It will be available in the next official release which should happen hopefully before the month is out.

I haven't actually turned on any of the bundament/fundament settings at all. I'm using it for Willfull Resistance and nGCD. I haven't had time to dig into them yet.

I did tweak some setting related to DP's mod, but not many. I reset the encumbrance multiplier back to x5 for now.
