“Well, Colonel, I’m impressed! Making it here alone across Route Fifty is really something, truly. There was once a Greek philosopher called Epicurus; he claimed that “we do not develop strength and courage through eternal happiness, but by surviving difficult times and challenging adversities.” Judging by your story, you’re the personification of this belief; I envy you. Perhaps… perhaps you disagree – I can understand if you feel scarred by past events, but it’s all quite glorious, I assure you. Nothing feels as sweet as revenge; sadly, I haven’t experienced vengeance at your level, but I hunger for it. What the NCR did to our brothers... they should be punished for their acts of evil. I’d go to the ends of the earth to avenge our fallen brethren – the greater the difficulty; the more glory is surmounting it. But despite these words, I still see potential out there in the wasteland. Of course, barbarity and senseless violence runs rampant, plaguing our great nation, but during my journey, which was much easier than yours, might I add, there was on the odd occasion a light in the darkness; Self-sufficient towns thriving off their willpower to prosper, regardless of their lack of raw materials. People like that, yes, they’re true Americans in my eyes. But, from my understanding, you’re a more of a… traditionalist. Nothing wrong with that, Colonel, nothing wrong at all; I don’t disrespect your ideology nor did I necessarily see President Richardson’s master plan as a bad idea, but I want to use, and even abuse, every resource provided for us; take advantage of what the good ole US of A has left for its… superior children.” Adams took a sip of his water. “But I digress. No matter our methods, we share a common goal; the greatest dream any man could hope to achieve. Through perseverance, I cannot not see how such diligent, strong men could possibly fail.”
Sutler held off a scowl, he had thought this type of machosism had died out, he didn't like being lectured too, particularly by people who weren't there; politely he said. "Personally Adams I would sooner have nothing to be vengeful over, but, Navarro happened..." Sutler always felt the need to describe how they lost, even thought everyone knew what had happened. "Fought till our backs were up against the wall, till our ammo ran dry and the turrets were destroyed." Sutler sighed, Adams struck him as an odd fellow, one of Autumn's boys, brought up an nancy, "wait-for-the-sanctions" [censored]. "I had my vengance, well part of it, came back here with 56 NCR holotags. I struck terror in all there hearts, heh, spent my time hiding in caves, ambushing partrols and waiting for the rescue parties to find what was left. Sons of [censored]es." Sutler finished his meal. "If you excuse me gentleman I must be returning to my apartment, the lady, even she tires of the old "veterans and their battlescars" excuse. Sutler collected his cutlery, dropping a fork in the process which fell through the grate. "[censored], cook'll get it. Be seeing you." Sutler stacked his plate and cutlery on the trolly, saluted present company and set off for his apartment. Adams had annoyed him, almost offended him, though to be fair, Autumn had a cult of personallity; he liked the idea of being Epicurus mind.
Sutler marched down the twisting halls of Raven Rock to his modest apartment in the lower levels, to his dear, red-headed wife and his great son, if he wasn't out being like his old man back in the day, Sutler smiled and suddenly, for the most part, forgot about Navarro and vengance, even the time he gouged that Ranger eye's out before burning him alive, it all seemed like another life time ago.
OOC: I had a discussion about it and as far as I'm concerned the Project was public knowledge.
Also, less and an out character and more an out of context, has anyone noticed that the Pip-Boy glove has gone since the update, no matter what I wear on it damn thing is no where to be seen.
