Don Frank Vercelotti

The doctor in the room with Frank took several tests before noting the results on a clipboard and stepping outside. "You must be hungry, we'll send you lunch soon." he informed exiting the room.

Knob Frank snorted once he had left. Sitting there for some time, Frank let his eyes wander around the room. It wasn't very sizable, but it was well equipped. The bed could be adjusted, and the bedside table was assorted with various surgical tools. Both the ceiling and walls were of a metallic texture. New Manhattan Hospital is kaput, where the hell am I? the Don wondered.

Before he could come to a conclusion the door opened once more and a familiar face entered.

"William!" Frank announced, surprised.

"Frank, dear friend, you're awake! There's so much to tell you but for now, all you need to know is that New Manhattan is under attack...by Alex and Justin Mieux." the Director informed.

The Don allowed his lips to curl into a grim smirk. Welcome back, Frank. he sighed, rolling his eyes. Not an hour out of coma and the problems have started once more.

"Justin Mieux and Alex" Frank repeated rubbing his eyes. Justin Mieux of Arcadia might have the firepower to hold a candle to New Manhattan, but Alex? "Don't worry about Mieux, we can deal with him. Alex is the problem. But last time I checked; he was on our side. What happened?"

As he asked this a second person entered the room, a far more welcome face. Lyn. Sweet Lyn.

Frank could sense her excitement as she rushed forward and hugged him, saying "Frank! It's good to see you are well!"

The Don cringed as she exerted pressure on his sore chest, but returned the hug heartily. "It's great to see you too Lyn." he smiled. Then suddenly Frank dropped his smile as he noticed his appearance. He was unshaven, and his hair was in an utter disarray. "Wait, don't look at me! I look hideous!" Frank barked, covering his face with his hands.

OOC: We have not started the attack...yet.

Alexander Scalatti and John Fairfield

"THIS! This is the New York I knew, and with your help, we can and will rebuild it to it's glory."

Alex rose his glass. "I concur, the GP Lenin tower is evil and cannot be allowed to infect our great nation, well, whats left of it anyways."

John Fairfield groaned as he sat himself up. "Ahh, damn, that knife wound hurts." John turned toward Justin. "I had no reason to be here, none, but then William came. He started all of this. You have my assurance that I will not interfere, but I have one question, can I aid you in this attack? I have always wanted to see my armies enter the city."

Lyn chuckled as Frank covered his face. "Frank, when you've lived in the wild as long as I have, you stop caring if someone looks good or not. Don't get me wrong, looking nice has its benefits," She said as she motioned to her dress. The same one she had on during the wedding. "Well, you have been out a long time, and William has probably already given his side ofthe story, so I'm going to make sure you hear both sides."

Don Frank Vercelotti

Lyn began to giggle. "Frank, when you've lived in the wild as long as I have, you stop caring if someone looks good or not. Don't get me wrong, looking nice has its benefits."

Frank lowered his hands, but still felt rather uncomfortable exposing this ugly side of himself, as opposed to his usual sharp and suave look. "You look nice." he mumbled. The best sweet-talking he could possibly manage, given his current predicament.

"Well, you have been out a long time, and William has probably already given his side ofthe story, so I'm going to make sure you hear both sides." Lyn said.

The Don cocked his head towards her. "Both sides?" he asked, rather confused. She's not with us? he wondered. A lot has changed.

OOC: More Empire Radio to fill the tension :D

Empire Radio

Todd: "Welcome back everybody! It's me, Todd Beneke. I'm sure you missed me while you heard all of those great classics. Now, for the news.

Lake Federation president John Fairfield and Bridgeport trader Alexander Scalatti have made a surprise visit to Arcadia. Our reporter, Hans Burdig is on the scene, hello Hans."

Hans: "Yes Todd, Alexander Scalatti walked right on this path here as he pushed John Fairfield's stretcher into the hotel right behind me. Nobody knows why he came here, but we suspect is has to do with the recent attack on John, who was stabbed by a GP spy."

Todd: "Is that all you know?"

Hans: "Yes, oh yeah, Lake Force One is right here docked in Arcadia. Several GP supporters are starting to rally outside the gate, but the guards are keeping them at bay, take a listen."

Protesters: "Death to freedom! We hate the Lake Federation! Its not "God Bless the Lake!" God [censored] the Lake!"

Todd: "Ah [censored] them, the Lake Federation is one of our sponsors! Thanks Hans. Alright, I'm sure you will miss me, but here is some http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-nT0ugCLiQY

Lyn smiled in response

The Don cocked his head towards her. "Both sides?" he asked.

"Yep, both sides. I'm not sure what William has told you, so I'll take it from the top. We found out the Lake Federation was behind the assassination attempt. William launched a devastating assault on the Lake Federation, severely wounding them. During the war, William enslaved the citizens of New Manhattan. Alex responded to this by starting a riot. I had already promised Alex that I would support him, so I aided the riot, which failed. After that, Alex and I retreated and gained the support of the super mutants, which were led by an intelligent super mutant. I also raised support by recruiting a local deathclaw nest, and from there we launched an assault on New Manhattan, intent to free the slaves. Unfortunately, William played us into a trap, and freed the slaves himself during the assault, which made him look like the good guy in this. The assault ended in a stalemate, and Alex, me, and the intelligent super mutant Harris, founded a new city, called Bridgeport." Lyn finished her monologue with a nod.

Don Frank Vercelotti

Frank listened intently to Lyns explanation, pressing the fingers of each hand against each other. Once she had finished, he opened his mouth to speak.

"Well that seems like some pretty good conflict resolution." he chuckled, but then cleared his throat. "Sorry, must be the medication." he blushed. "Anyway, it seems like the two of you have no real reason to antagonize each other anymore. You had an issue with slavery. There is no more slavery, and thus the problem is solved." the Don declared."

Frank suddenly noticed that there was a radio on his side table that broke into a transmission. He leaned over and turned up the volume.

*RADIO TRANSMISSION*

Todd: "Welcome back everybody! It's me, Todd Beneke. I'm sure you missed me while you heard all of those great classics. Now, for the news.

Todd: "Ah [censored] them, the Lake Federation is one of our sponsors! Thanks Hans. Alright, I'm sure you will miss me, but here is some Frank Sinatra to keep you company. Nothing but the Best is Good For Me, its true!

*END OF RADIO TRANSMISSION*

Frank turned the volume back down as the song began to play. "So it seems that Lake Federation and Arcadia have beef with each other. This is good for us." Frank nodded to William. "It means we're in the clear. Right?" he asked, his eyes glancing back and forth from Lyn to William.

OOC @ Dark: We haven't started yet, we have to wait until james agrees, since all three of us will be fighting Gauss Project, but my ace in the hole is kept secret until Arcadia falls or James agrees to the fight, which then it'll be used to start the war, then five minutes after I make my move, they can safely make theirs.

Mieux made a shrug, "Sure, I'll be glad to have more fire power in our arsenal. But as I said, your troops as well must wait approximately five minutes, lest they end up dying. Like I said, you'll find out why soon enough." Mieux gave a smirk of cunning ingenuity. Mieux had turned on a radio, "As well, I've had this prepared for us on Arcadia News Radio. " He turned it up, a robot DJ, who's voice was smooth and charming said over the radios speakers.

"Good evening New York, it's a LOVELY evening here in Arcadia, and now, some news. Tensions are riding high in the region after New Manhattan's Director William Snowe is rumored to be behind the attempt on the life of Lake Federation presidents John Fairfield. While no evidence to prove or disprove this, every settlement in the region is high in tension right now. Can this situation be calmed diplomatically? Will it lead to all out war? At this point it's anyones guess. This message was sponsered by Abraxo. Abraxo, it's Mr. Handy's favorite detergent."

Mieux cocked his eyebrow, "I've also recieved word our friends from Gauss Project are raging at the gates at my welcoming your friend the president. But, I find Lake Federation much more cordial than Snowe. Shame things went south, but such is business I suppose." Mieux was interupted by the phone by his chair at the table ringing, he picked it up, "Really? Huh, figured he'd have died after that. I'll let him know. Thank you." Mieux smiled smuggly at Scalatti, "Alex, looks like your friend the don has just woken up." He then looked to Sutler. "Well Mr. President, how do you feel about all this? It's now or never sir."

"I think Alex and William still have plenty of hostility toward one another. For example, William attempted to assassinate the president of the Lake Federation, who had sided with Bridgeport. Plus, I saw that tons of farms outside the walls were burned, which I would assume were caused by Alex or Lake Federation. It seems that this is just the beginning, unfortunately." Lyn crossed her arms as a frown spread on her face. "My main job is just to make sure Bridgeport is well fed, and to defend it if the time comes. Alex is the one who handles the political stuff, and I'm sure he could clarify things better."

The Don simply grunted. "The longer I stay conscious, the worse things sound." he remarked grimly. "An assassination won't do the trick anyway. We need to wipe-out Lake Federation once and for all. Whoever did it, they did something incredibly stupid by burning the farms, that's the lifeblood of the rural folk. You don't want the rural folk against you around here. Heck, the old Don even used to pay the tribals a visit every now and then." he scratched his scruffy beard thoughtfully. "Once Im out of this mess, I'll go and have a meeting with Justin Mieux." he said decisively.

As he spoke, a nurse entered the room, and set a tray of food in front of Frank. He began gobbling whatever was available, and had finished within minutes. "Jeez, I didn't know how hungry I was until I started eating!" he chuckled.

OOC: Yeah but remember, even though the GP has much less of a powerful military(only enough to defend New Manhattan and the surrounding area very well), they have a network of spies and one working satellite(that hologram thing during the war with the Federation).
Director William Snowe

William sighed as the Empire News, which was the #1 anti-GP radio station, went loud and clear through. He expected as much since the bunker's radios can pick up any frequency. Hopefully, nobody on the surface heard that broadcast. The last thing anybody needed was a riot in this dark time.

After Lyn explaining her side of the story, Sonia burst into the room. "Is it true? Is he..." She broke out into a smile and hugged Frank. "So you really ARE alive!"

William shook his head. "I have no problem with Bridgeport. If Alex weren't sided with the [censored] Federation, I would even think of allying with them. But don't you see? The Federation is a cancerous nation. It consumes everything it comes in contact with."

Frank started to talk about exterminating the Federation completely. William shook his head and sat down on a chair nearby. "Been there, done that. Laketon is destroyed but Detroit still stands as a new base of operations. We have spies on the inside and even set up a revolution leader. Just waiting for the President to die."

Don Frank Vercelotti

Soon after the transmission, yet another familiar face entered the room. Sonia Marx. Or is it Sonia Snowe now? Frank wondered as she drew closer.

"So you really ARE alive!" she exclaimed, hugging him.

"Unfortunately, yes." the Don chuckled, only half-joking.

William then spoke up about the current affairs, and responded to Franks idea of obliterating the Federation. "Been there, done that. Laketon is destroyed but Detroit still stands as a new base of operations. We have spies on the inside and even set up a revolution leader. Just waiting for the President to die." he stated.

"Shouldn't be too long. I trust you've been helping yourself to any and all of my assets." he said. "Im thinking of setting up a meeting with Mieux. We'll have plenty to discuss. I'd be surprised if he didn't know I was awake by now. The Doc said he sent messengers, if even one of them was intercepted, then my awakening will be common knowledge in a matter of minutes."

Lake Federation Military Command, The Pitt

General Horatio "Papa" Hans was lounging in his office. He was adjusting his cap when suddenly the door creaked open. A officer walked through the door.

"Sir, we have an order from Vice-President Donald Crosby."

Horatio looked the man straight in the eye. "Okay? So what are the orders?"

The officer placed some papers on Horatio's desk. "We are to "bomb" the city with propaganda flyers. We have some Verti-birds in position, I just need your go ahead."

Horatio grunted. "If the vice orders it, then I will automatically say yes, go ahead with it."

Propaganda Pilots

The verti-birds were flying in formation toward New Manhattan. One of the pilots recieved the orders.

"Propaganda is allowed, full vectors, hit all sectors."

The pilot nodded, and the verti-birds broke formation. The first pilot opened the bomb bay. Several of the soldiers began to dump tons of flyers into the bomb bay.

"Bombs away."

The flyers began to fall toward the city. Within five minutes, the entire city was covered in propaganda flyers. On the flyer was a Lake Federation soldier with a Thompson. A slogan underneath said "Do you want Freedom? Join the Lake!"

Lyn Grave

Lyn shrugged. "Seems like we're at an impass. Bridgeport and Lake Federation are allies, Alex hates the GP, and the GP hates the Lake Federation. We are going to have to reach a compromise somewhere, or any combination of the three factions will be destroyed. I will be willing to talk to Alex about putting aside his hatred of the GP if you, William, are willing to put aside your hatred of the Lake Federation. I think peace is really in all of our best interests right now."

OOC: This post is a 'meanwhile' post. Showing how much cunning and rutheless Mieux tactics can be.

In the board room of the penthouse, Mieux was meeting with his three partners, and yet, even as he was busy here, he was also encroaching his fingers in New Manhattan, just like any smart leader, he had eyes and ears everywhere, and mouths too when the need came about. He had paid multiple agents anonymously and gave them radios, knowing full well Bridgeport would likely boast the news of the attempt on their radios. When his men secretly hooked them up to megaphones, they waited, and as the line '"Nobody knows why he came here, but we suspect is has to do with the recent attack on John, who was stabbed by a GP spy." of Bridgeports radio station played in New Manhattans streets. Mieux knew soon enough that this would cause tensions if not full scale riot to occur on Manhattans streets, not right away, but within the next few hours. If the riots occured, Williams' soldiers would be hard pressed to maintain order and supress looting. If the riots did not occur, it would cause political unrest within the cities walls. Even if it did not cause anarchy in New Manhattans streets, he'd still achieve his plan, causing a far more insidious threat, political unrest and instability.

Director William Snowe

"I'm willing to let a rat go free if it means keeping the peace," William said before he was radioed. "Sir, we've got propaganda flying around and Bridgeport news is playing. The Vertibirds that let the propaganda loose are destroyed and most of the agents that hooked up our megaphones were tracked down are killed...but the damage is done."

William sighed before leaving the room and heading to the top of the Ivory Tower through the secret passageway to and from the bunker to the tower. He went to the top and it literally was a sea of propaganda. One flew to his direction and he read it. "Do you want Freedom? Join the Lake!"

He couldn't help but laugh. Freedom, although limited, was still there. People had the freedom to gamble their weekly food or weekly wages, the freedom to choose what types of clothes to wear, etc. Freedom was limited but it was there. In fact, this type of freedom was better. No slums and no poor people. Everybody was either middle classed or rich and nobody starved.

William went to the balcony and tapped on the microphone. The citizens stood silent and watched. He spoke into the microphone with a very charismatic and forceful voice. "People of New Manhattan, ignore the fliers and ignore the news! Remember who freed you, remember who feeds you, remember who keeps you all well fed!"

The citizens kept silent as William continued. "Democracy? Just look around! Democracy has caused the great war! Communism? You are not oppressed! Since when have I EVER demanded for you to do something? The Federation dogs will! You must rise up and help the state! For it is the State who helps you live. Without the State, you are simply scavengers and wastelanders!"

At first, the city was quiet before the citizens all shouted cries of approval and thanks. Although the propaganda didn't work and neither did the megaphone broadcast, it would affect the neighboring tribes. Those tribes were nothing as of yet but it would take at least ten soldiers to repel them and that means ten soldiers less in the impending war.

William hoped the tribes either couldn't read or the rural areas didn't get wind of that. Although all citizens were fiercely loyal to William after the scapegoat incident with the slaves and the big deal about freeing them, the rural areas were less than loyal as they got less food for the fact that it took a long time for them to get to New Manhattan and by that time, most of the food was already put in cryo.

His phone ringing a second time, Mieux picked it up, and in that rare break of calm, aloft confidence, he simply said. "When?......I see....." He put the phone gently back on his reciever, he put his hands back down on the table, though you had to really look, Mieux's hands were shaking with anger. According to one of his other spys that reported in to the hotel, ten minutes after broadcast, his men and the radios were silenced. In revolt, he had one of the Gauss Projects policeman kidnapped, a final scare tactic. Lying dead in one of the streets where the richer citizens lived, the power had been 'coincidentally' shut off. After 5 minutes, the officer who lay dead, a young man with a look of utter terror on his face and riddled with machine gun bullet holes, in the street was written in blood, 'This man died loyal, and your time will come Snowe'

Though his plan had failed, he knew the rich would be terrorized into constant fear, thinking anyone could be next, when in fact, they would never be harmed.

Sergeant Fredrick

"Sir, we have an order from Donald Crosby himself."

"Hand me the phone please." Fredrick grabbed the phone. "Yes sir?"

"You are the best of the best, God Bless the Lake. Anyways, I want you to organize as many rural hicks you can, get them all to come under our rule, capishe?"

"Yes vice-president sir."

Fredrick hung up the phone. "We have new orders, we are tasked with organizing as many rural people as we can, oorah? Lets head out."

Vice-President Donald Crosby

Crosby hung up the phone. A man walked into the office. "Sir, the crowd is waiting."

Crosby nodded, and left the office. He walked down the narrow hallway. The cheers of the crowd grew louder and louder, until Crosby was outside. As soon as he walked unto the stage, the crowd let out a huge roar.

Crosby put his transcript onto the podium. He adjusted his tie. "People, people of the Lake Federation, my country, the best country. We are at war with the great Stalin, the evils of socialism have encroached on our lands. What do we say to commies?"

"Death!"

Crosby laughed. "Good good, now, William, that idiot, thinks that people must be dependent on the government. LET ME TELL YOU!!! Did we grow from the fragments of the USA with government spoon feeding us?"

"NO!!"

"Now, we are at a crossroads. Will we let the evil socialist commies take over our beautiful representative government, run BY THE PEOPLE FOR THE PEOPLE?!?!

"NO!!!"

"We will make another assult, to rid the world of the commie filth. People, rise up! Commies are evil! Lets prove it!"

A GP supporter was dragged out of the capital building of Detroit. The crowd began to laugh. Crosby took out a laser rifle and shot the GP man.

"DEATH TO THE GP!!" Crosby raised the head of the GP man in the air.

Lamina Squad

Lamina was stationed at the beginnings of the Citadel. Surprisingly, much of New Rabbiton was useful for creating the Citadel and the building crews were working endlessly to create the walls. The squad, toting power armor, were a sight to behold in the Jersey area where GP presence was very low as the Securitron army was spread thin as it is.

The squad and the councilors all started to recruit the farmers around as soldiers, a ploy to keep their firm grasp on the rural area even more firm. Of course, ten people stationed in an area that's about the size of New Manhattan isn't the most ideal thing in the world.

Director William Snowe

"What am I looking at?" William asked, seeing for the first time a satellite overview of Arcadia. William wanted to remain allies sure, but the failed propaganda attempt was just an indication that a war was brewing.

"Well sir, you're looking at the high point of the war. Whatever Mr. Mieux has in store for us during the war has to be in Arcadia. If we were to get a first strike..."

William shook his head. "No, not yet. Report this to the council and tell the engineers to build some siege weapons. We need artillery if we're to defend New Manhattan."

The Colonel nodded and left, leaving William alone in the Ivory Tower. He stared out on the beautiful lights of New Manhattan, thinking whether or not it would be the last day of this glorious empire.

Captain Nikov

"Nikov, do you read?"
Captain Nikov almost fell backwards as William's voice rang through the entrenched base camp overlooking New Manhattan and Arcadia.
"Yes...yes sir, I read." He stuttered.
"Your squad's going to go into Arcadia, see what kind of firepower they have, and get out, taking out as many able bodied soldiers as possible without losing your covert status. Now go."

Nikov walked out of his tent and gathered up his squad. "Alright, you all heard the Director, move out!" He yelled and put on his Ushanka*, descending down to Arcadia, acting as incognito as possible.

OOC: *Ushanka is what Alex calls a "Commie Hat"

Lyn Grave

Lyn watched as William walked out. "I have a bad feeling peace is the last thing on everyone's minds," Lyn thought aloud. Lyn started pacing back and forth, feeling noticeably stressed. She started growling, in a distinctly beast-like manner.

"Gah! I can't shake the feeling that war is going to consume this place soon. I wish there were something I could do, but it seems like there is nothing I can do to rectify this!" Lyn then punched the nearest wall of the room. Annother growl escaped her before she took some deep breaths, calming her down some.

"I'm sorry, Frank, you really didn't need to hear that." Lyn said with a now steady voice.

OOC: Sorry Alex and James, I'm going to mildly god mode you two for a second.

Mieux had put the phone down thirty minutes ago, and to let the thoughts of all this sink in again. He had just gotten to the podium. "As you can see, with New Manhatt-" He was interrupted by a third phone call. Mieuxs face went from charming and handsome to scowling. Unable to hide his anger, he said tensely, "What - is it - now?" There was a silence for a good minute in the room, Mieux's voice broke out loudly. "WHAT IN THE BLOODY HELL? NO! FORGET TACTICS!" Mieux was pissed royally, he slammed the phone down and speed walked to his computer room, the various blinks and ticking noises of the side computers, technical details unreadable to anyone without a complete mastery of computer.

Scallatti and Sutler followed him quickly, Sutler asking nervously, "Whats wrong? You've never been pissed like this." Mieux was stopped before the large terminal screen, wheeled around, he said angrily. "You're RIGHT. I've not been this mad before. Do you know why? There's no proof but my damn soldiers are being taken out, randomly falling in the streets. I KNOW that idiot Snowe is behind it. He has just declared an act of war." He wheeled around again, clicking various keys, then saying to the President of the Enclave, "Sutler, behold what that weapon of yours can do. When I first got on my feet, I had two of my prototype pulse atomic bombs. Why do I say atom bombs? they kill ANYTHING with a circuit, permanently and irrepairably destroying it's inner works. So, I had a chief engineer of theirs plant these for 30,000 caps a piece, two in their securitron vault, more than enough to kill all the Securitrons forever, but I want to make double damn sure I hit him where it hurts." Suddenly, at the typing in a sentence, a password. 'Remember the Pre-War days' and a voice came out from the terminal, a robotic voice, similiar feminine Robobrains. "Hello Mr. Mieux, detonation sequence please?" Mieux had calmed down physically, but still very much angry, "Detonation sequence 1-0-2-3-2-0-7-7, priority detonation of bombs SV-1, SV-2, and G-1." A screen showing a hacked camera of the Securitron vault was online, suddenly lost connection just after a bright blinding light, the second camera showed the same." Mieux turned to his allies, "There, that takes care of their Securitron armies." Sutler and Scallatti were obviously thinking the same thing, Sutler said it first, " You said there were three bo-" Sutler and Scallatti both instantaniously realized where the final bomb was, as they watched city block by city block losing light and power in Manhattan, the generator room had been destroyed. Justins back to the window, knowing what was happening. " I just used my final attack ace. But now, it'll be man against man."

People were fleeing the hotel and it's ball as Mieux had summoned every sentrybot minus four to stand guard at the entry of the generator room floor and kill anyone who exited the elevator who was not with Mieux. Meanwhile, a Protectron voice came over the speakers of the entire city, normally broadcasting Arcadia News Radio. "Attention, all citizens of Arcadia. Citizens and guests are to enter a safe location and not exit the designated safety until the all clear signal is raised. The last time the sirens in Arcadia had rung was when the bombs fell on October 23, 2077.

OOC: Oh crap! This is going to be epic. But just a heads up, the GP still has elite troops using JUST guns. Oh and I won't be posting tomorrow for quite some time because I'm going to be out with a couple friends and grab ourselves some STUFF. YAY STUFF.

Captain Nikov

The alarms rung as Nikov's squad hid inside an abandoned building after annihilating many of the soldiers. One of the squad shuddered and looked out the window. The city was in panic as the citizens ran from place to place, trying to get to wherever it was safe.

"What the bloody hell is this?"

Nikov took out a mock laptop and scanned the area. Sure enough, it was a confirmed "pinch" detonation. His heart stopped. Much of the GP's defenses were electronic. The grid was perfect, no flaws other than the massive amount of electricity it took to power it. But without that grid, the SAM sites would have to be manually activated, the Vertibirds can't do anything, and the satellite, although far from the pinch, would be useless considering only the bunker's special generators will be active.

Nikov yelled into the radio. "We have a WMD detonation! I repeat, we have a WMD detonation! Get rid of ALL Securitrons, do you copy?!"

"Legate 1 Actual here, we copy. Landing Vertibirds now. We're positioning people on the SAM sites right now. Standby...yeah, we're getting feed of the Securitron Vault closing up, all Securitrons safe for now. They're safe in the bunker. "

Nikov held his breath and sniped one more person before he sighed. "It's just us now." He stood up and walked around his squad. "When that bloody pinch goes off, we're going to be alone. Without any connection from base, we're going to have to destroy Arcadia from the inside."

Director William Snowe

All across New Manhattan, people started to panic as they were shuffled into the EMP resistant bunker below. Most of the people were relatively confident that because the bunker would be a perfect barrier against the pinch, the GP would win.

Oh that was far from the truth. It wasn't like it was going to be fought on the bunker, it was going to be fought above ground, where only the elite soldiers could fight safely. All Securitrons had to be disabled in case of a generator meltdown. Mieux may not be destroying the Securitrons but he just eliminated the bulk of the army.

William sighed. "Nikov better pull through."

He went back down to the medical wing and sat down, silent and rigid. Sonia tried to give a comforting smile and hugged him. "What's wrong?"

"What's wrong is that Arcadia is going to launch an EMP bomb at us. We're safe in the bunker but once that EMP wears off, only our human troops can fight safely. Securitrons have to remain disabled through this battle or else the generator might meltdown and go nuclear."

Sonia paced around nervously. "What do we do, what do we do?" She turned to Frank. "Any ideas?"

Don Frank Vercelotti

"I'm willing to let a rat go free if it means keeping the peace-" William began but was cut off.

Frank heard the static buzz on Williams radio. He left the room to attend to his business which left the room with just Lyn and Frank. "I have a bad feeling peace is the last thing on everyone's minds" she said, beginning to seem flustered.

She began to make rather animalistic noises, and soon couldn't hold it in any longer. "Gah! I can't shake the feeling that war is going to consume this place soon. I wish there were something I could do, but it seems like there is nothing I can do to rectify this!" she howled, letting her anger out by punching the nearest wall. This seemed to calm her. She several deep breaths before composing herself. "I'm sorry, Frank, you really didn't need to hear that."

Frank all the while simply stared wide-eyed at the display, passing no comment. After a brief silence, he began to speak, making sure his voice sounded as soothing as possible.

"Don't worry Lyn. This is New Manhattan, the most desirable place on this side of the country, stuff like this has been going on long before you came. We can handle it." he smiled reassuringly and continued. "Besides, war is bad for business. I need peace more than anyone else. For my own survival. This is my home turf, everyone else can just up and leave if the [censored] hits the fan. In the end, Im the only one that'll be stuck in the mess. I've got nowhere else to go." he explained.

Shortly afterwards, the door of the room was thrust open, two robots entered the room, carrying some sort of large machine, followed by the doctor.

"How are you fairing, Mr. Vercelotti?" he asked casually.

"Not bad. What's this?" he asked, motioning at the machine the robots had now set down in the corner of the room.

"It's for some tests. It's called a "treadmill". You run on it. See if you can stand up, if you can try walking on this thing." he answered, turning the machine on to its lowest speed.

Frank stumbled out of the bed, dressed only in the patients gown. He would've made a comment if he wasn't feeling excruciating pain throughout his entire body. "Jesus Christ, give me a minute." he grumbled, clutching his torso. Within minutes, he felt strong enough to climb onto the machine, however, and began walking, as the doctor fitted some wiring onto his body and scribbled all along his clipboard repeating the word; "Remarkable."

---

Minutes later, Frank had managed up to a steady jog when William re-entered the room and fell onto one of the seats rather morose.

"What's wrong?" Sonia asked, hugging him.

"What's wrong is that Arcadia is going to launch an EMP bomb at us. We're safe in the bunker but once that EMP wears off, only our human troops can fight safely. Securitrons have to remain disabled through this battle or else the generator might meltdown and go nuclear." William explained.

Franks heart sank as he heard this. Already?

Sonia began to pace around the room, agitated. "What do we do, what do we do?" she said, then turned to face the Don. "Any ideas?"

He smiled and cleared his throat as his speed increased to a sprint and he didn't even break a sweat. "Well, if their troops are coming on one of the bridges; they're pretty much toast." he declared confidently. Noticing their confusion, he continued; "Each bridge leading into the city is riddled with old pre-war cars. Out of service for drivers, but not out of the mafias service. We installed a car-bomb in each of them. Detonator is in my office." he announced proudly. "We usually have some men push it out to infront of competition at night, and detonate it in the morning. No one ever knows what went wrong." he chuckled arrogantly. "The enemy has to come in on the bridges anyway, because they can't drop in from their Vertibirds due to the EMP."

Then suddenly a thought entered the Dons mind. What if the EMP disables the detonator? But he had an answer to this too. "Detonator might not work because of the EMP, so someone's going to have to chuck a grenade in there. It's suicidal, but necessary." he added.

I knew some of our manpower and tactics would come in handy some day. he snickered, as he continued running on the machine without showing a sign of fatigue, despite several minutes having passed.

Frank had another idea as well. "Or if you want to avoid the war altogether; just collapse the bridges. No way in. No way out." he said. "I don't know if it will fare well with the locals, and it's only a temporary fix. Rebuilding the bridges could take forever too. It's your call." he told William.

OOC: I go out for the first time in god knows how long and all this happens?

Sutler looked out of the window at the now dark city, he turned on Miuex.

"Look Miuex, what kinkiness are you trying to drag the Enclave into?" Sutler wasn't yelling but rather exsasperated. "You want me to commit my people to defend an illegitamate "President" and Bridgeport, Bridgeport the source of even what the wasteland dros call mutants, the FEV rejects, the Meta-Humans? What in the Sam-hell is going to go down in the city now, I can't send my troops into the region whilst the effects of the EMP remain, technology is our only advantage. Do you not understand how I operate? What is in this war for the Enclave? What good does the freedom of the wastelanders do for us?"
Sutler stopped and pulled out his radio.

"Stagecoach '596? This is Angler at New Roadhouse, I need everyone collecting and returning as soon as possible. Over and out."

"I need to use you PA system to contact my people. I will leave the squad stationed here as agreed but nothing more." Sutler sighed. "I too will remain to see this out, if anything happens to those six men who may be fighting here I will never live it down, or let you forget. I will need my weaponary returning."

OOC: Dark, they arent missles, they were hidden bombs placed in the Securitron vault and the generators area. In case you invaded me, but since he's enraged, he forced his 'last resort' so he could get an upper hand. I dunno if you saw the post I made, but the bomb is small and has a half mile radius (But it cant really 'ghost' through layers of dirt, so if there was one above ground (which there isnt) then it would do little damage to the underground. So basically there are no more Securitrons, and the known city generators are fried, but if you have hidden back up generators somewhere, those are safe.

Mieux was flush with his power play, having permanently fried the Securitrons, and hopefully shutting off all of new Manhattans Generators, he bided his time, Mieux had a known weakness, he never allowed his men to cause blind civilian deaths, and as much as he hated to do this, he knew he was going to forever suffer guilt. Instead of ordering his ground troops to assault New Manhattan, he ordered them to man the walls.

Mieux also had the soldiers T-45d's and T-51b's looking for the people in the city who had been been sniping, they ran in formation down the streets, one of their men falling, the snipers locations pinpointed by the way their soldier had fallen. Captain Jackson, the leader of the squad pointed and turned to his men, "UP THERE! ON THE ROOF!" They stormed the small building and charged up the stairs to the roofs, their weapopns checked to be sure they were at full clip, the two heavy weapons troops checked their mini-guns. The team was cornered on the roof, but the captain cautioned them, "Be careful guys, they may be cornered, but anyone capable of infilitrating the city undetected and taking out 5 men before detection are bound to have alot of them. Ready? 3.2.1. MOVE IN! MOVE IN! MOVE IN!" The Captain ordered his troops in, guns blazing, hoping to take down 2-3 of the bastards at least.

Meanwhile, Mieux was staring in silence at Sutler, then he said, "Feel free to use the PA systems as you see fit. They say all is fair in love and war. But what I am about to do I doubt I will never be able to forgive myself for, but I MUST win. You see.... I have been building my military. And this is just part of it, this is my most vicious tactic, but if I have to demoralize them, then I must." Mieux was shaking, everyone looking at him knew whatever this was going to be wasn't going to be good, Mieux, shaking, he raised the microphone to his lips, his hands violently shaking. "Send in the purging flames." Mieux looked to Sutler, "Do you remember the killing power of America before the war? I had bomber carefully reconstructed, it's unstable, but still powerful.....thats who those ghouls who were here were. They were rebuilding an old http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Consolidated_B-24_Liberator from an old Aerospace Museum. I had them haul it to the old JFK terminal. I revived something that should have stayed in the old world, but I can't lose, not now, centuries of preperation will NOT be undone damn it."Ten minutes had passed since Mieux made the order, and before Sutler could respond, everyone looked at Mieux glass of water viberating on the table. "What the HELL did you do Mieux?" Sutler said, grabbing Mieux by his suit jackets lapels. Almost a mile away, over New Manhattan, the bomber flew over, a loud screaming could be heard as the bomber flew over, releasing bombs over New Manhattan. "Sutler, they arent bomb bombs, I'm fire-bombing New Manhattan to demoralize Snowe...." after trailing off, he spoke up again, "and.....and any citizen of New Manhattan not sheltered will be burned alive." It was then Mieux realized, after trying to deny it after so long, when push comes to shove, he would do anything it took to win, even if what it took was a road of bodies. He was as ruthless as Sutler.
