Sutler turned and looked at Alex.

"Umm, I think I just opened the silo......." He said in response to Mieux.

"Scalatti, stop [censored] around with things or I shall have you detained; what if you had activated a pre-war security system and sentry bots just came rolling out of the walls eh? Stupid [censored]." Sutler shouted.

Alex nodded. "Ack, it said unlock door. I had no idea that it would open a door that big! If I can't help here, than fine, I can just go, but I was a mechanic, well, I was supposed to be on in the vault. If you need any help fixing stuff, just call me. I in the mean time, lets check out that silo."

Lyn shrugged at Frank's comment. "I don't think he appreciated our input. Or, at least, he couldn't argue with it." Lyn then watched as the waitress set the food in front of them, and Frank switching their plates. Lyn smiled, and happily tore into the steak. "This is good steak," She said in between bites.

Mayor Frank Vercelotti

The moment the steak was in front of her, Lyn began devouring it, commenting on it between bites, however the word were incomprehensible to Frank, who simply sat there smiling, as he slowly plunged into his own meal. It was not long before he had finished, and began sipping on his drink.

"We better get back to the office soon." Frank mumbled, as the waitress brought in the bill. He swiftly paid it and tipped her generously.

"Alright," Lyn said before finishing her milkshake. "Thank you for the meal Frank, it was delicious." Lyn got up as Frank did, and took his hand again as they went back to the office.

Once back at the office, Frank showed Lyn to a seat, as he took his in front of the desk. Leaning over to the monitor he sent another message to Justin Mieux to see if he was back yet. "Come on, dammit." he muttered under his breath as he awaited a response.

Leon Graves - Port Neptune - Moffet's Research & Development

The jeep pulled up to the checkpoint that gave access to Dr.Moffet's workshop. After speaking with the guards the vehicle pulled into a parking space near the front doors of the facility. Leon emerged from the car alone and proceeded to the doors. As he approached the pair of guards took a respectful stance and nodded as Leon entered the building. Walking over to the reception area a sleeping sentry sat with his feet on top of the oval shaped desk. Leon kicked the desk causing the guard to fall out of his chair and fumble for his weapon. Emerging with his weapon drawn he prepares to fire but stops when he realizes who it is.

"Boss Graves. What are you doing here?"

"The more important question is why I shouldn't have you killed for sleeping on the job you incompetent [censored]!"

"I'm sorry, boss but all that racket those guys in the back have been making has been real annoying."

"What are you babbling about and don't they all work in the basemant?"

"There's been this huge feud between some of the staff and Moffet. The arguments start downstairs and work their way up here."

"I'd better go take care of this. Take me to them."

"Right away.", the man says as he begins leading Leon down a series of hallways towards a staircase.

After traveling down three flights of stairs the man leads Leon to an elevator. Pressing the call button the elevator arrives a minute later two armed guards hands on their weapons. Stepping onto the elevator the sentry pushes the button for B4 and the elevator after closing it's doors swiftly descends to the lowest basemant.

OOC: Nope, my bunkers off limits. I made it clear in the beginning. This is going straight to the nuke silo, or a few other warehouses. But eh, whatever.

Mieux frowned at Alex, "What the- WHERE DID FIND THAT KEYCARD?" He half shouted. "Well, that makes Sutlers keycard useless apparently, no wait, we might just need that to alter that warheads coordinates or something." Mieux poked around the building and found a basemant door sealed with a blast door. "Oh good, Alex, give me that keycard." He took the card from Alex's hand gently, swiping it on the nearby door. "Okay lets hea- Oh christ more of these damned things." His nerve now used to this, he drew the 10m SMG and fired it with both hands, firing in bursts while aiming for their throats. Alex along side him, firing his weapon. A vague sound of one screaming 'Commies' as they burst in. After the the two took down the small handful of ferals. Mieux looked down sadly at them, holding a gloved hand over one of the dead ferals jaws and looking at it's face, a look of pain and relief on it's face. 'To think, these poor souls used to look like me and the others. Christ, what did we do to ourselves. Damned governments.' He looked around, flicking the light of his radiation suit on, Alex in turn did the same. Looking around, he turned to Alex and whistled impressed, "Damn, Alex, if you can use that tool box there to fix that fuse box in the corner, we might be able to repower this old base, spark some life into this long dead plot of land. Mieux, looking around still, when he saw the terminals, his mind drawing a vague familiarty. 'What product are these Robco terminals? I know I've sold myriads of them.' His head furrowed, he hit Alex lightly on the shoulder, "We're in the power station for this base. I'll be damned. We might just get some lights in this old place." He pushed the button on his shoulder and talked into the mic, "President Sutler, bring your man down the hall, go down the small stairwell to the left. Me and Alex just found the generator room to this place." Mieux didnt venture off the concrete floor, he would wait until he heard those turbines moving before he stepped onto the steel platforms.

Oh [censored], I was supposed to learn about advanced electricity from my dad that day! Nevertheless, Alex slowly walked over to the toolbox. He picked it up and placed it on a table. He opened up the long dead fuse box. All of the wires were either eaten by rats, destroyed by time, or just unusable. The Fuse itself was completely blown out.

"Damn, this thing has seen better days." Alex turned toward Justin. "Erm, can you look around for the supply closet? I need some wires and a fuse. If there is no fuse, a fission battery will suffice."

"President Sutler, bring your man down the hall, go down the small stairwell to the left. Me and Alex just found the generator room to this place."

That's better Sutler noted smuggly. "Kong, on me, the rest of you stay frosty, let's move." Sutler slowly walked down the long corridor, looking down the sights of his pistol, checking each door as he and Kong back to back gradually made their way to the corridors leading left and right further ahead. A ghoul stumbled out of a doorway ahead, it had not detected them but was aware something was coming. "Target of 12 o'clock!" Sutler called back to Kong before downing the unsuspecting Ghoul via a round to the face which burst as the small 2mm round ploughed through it at 400 meters a second. They rounded the corner and continued to slowly proceed down the stairs, when at the bottom Sutler pulled out his Wattz.

"Fairfax, pass the radio over to Mieux," Fairfax obeyed and Sutler continued. "Mieux, I and Major Kong are in position, what do you have in mind?"

"Might be" Mieux said, nodding his head towards his shoulder. "He dug into the supply cabinet next to the powered down monitors. "Nope, only conducters, a few various electronics and some replacement fuses. Check if these are the ones you need. "let me check out in the NOOOOOOOOOO" Mieux said, falling a floor below, stepping into a large hole in the steel platform to the generators, the fall wasnt deep, but mieux fell on his stomach, knocking the wind out of him. Mieux moaned for a moment, "Augh, I-" His breath still not recovered "- I think I- fell in a pool of- old blood." he got to his knees, looking around slightly dizzy from the lack of oxygen until just now. "No wait, it's motor oil. Robot oil to be exact. He followed the trail with his shoulder light. "I think I found our battery Alex" Mieux said, his light stopping on a half destroyed Protectron. He slowly hauled it up the stairs. The supports on the steel groaning as he dragged the robot along the ground, carefully stepping around the hole.

Alex ran over to Justin and grabbed the battery. He ran over to the toolbox and pulled out a hammer. He placed the battery on the counter and smashed it open. Inside, were some wires. He ripped them out, and he also ripped out the old fuse. He placed the wires into the fuse box, and placed the battery shell around. He used a screwdriver and tightened everything in.

"I recommend you stand back a bit." Justin took a step back. Alex flipped the switch, nothing happened.

"[censored]." Alex walked over and opened the fusebox. One of the wires was loose. He placed it back in, and shut the box.

"Now, stand back." Alex flipped the switch. Nothing happened, but then, the light bulb in the room sputtered to life. Then, the generators began to start, and the entire building lit up.

"Now thats how you fix a fuse with a battery." Alex said as he grinned.

Mieux flicked his light off and looked around the large room. Outside the concrete and below the steel platforms were multiple generators. "Excellent." Mieux said aloud. He unzipped his suit and revealed his head. His face slightly damp from the warm heat in his suit. "These walls, those walls are radiation shielded, see those symbols? Means it's rad proof down here." Mieux wondered why those ghouls were here. "Now, step aside Alex, this is my field of expertise" Mieux smiled politely, sitting in the rusted and ragged old swivel chair, powering up the mainframe. "Okay, now, it'll take a few moments so the mainframe here comes on line. From here, I should be able to stabely direct power to the base. After that, if these computers have the software, I'll see if these computers are connected to the security camera systems." Mieux tapped on the counter top of the monitor station, wondering what Sutler would think when the power suddenly flickered on. As the eight screens flared to life, various symbols displaying on the screen."Excellent, now, just type in a few symbols and.....bingo!" He grinned. His face turned to curiousity. "Huh, what's this? A diary log." He read through it, wondering exactly was going on with ghouls in a radiation free room. "Well, that explains it. Rioters stormed the base, some for food, some for safety. In short the troops turned this place into a blood bath and threw the bodies into the silo pit. As it turns out, the Missile was still being fixed up, so it's casing was never closed. Apparantly the surviving troops and soldiers started getting sick, radiation poisoning. Some died, some went insane when their skin started flaking. Apparently the general was one of those 'insane ones' and they shut him in his office and ran down here, sealing themselves in. Says here their supplies lasted about 10 years. But the last log is 2080, which means they went insane short after." Mieux clicked his tongue, "Hell of a thing, but thats the way the world works." He sighed a moment and cleared his voice. "Anyway, computers." He turned on the mic still around his neck, "Mr. President, if you guys have a powerful radiation resistance chem, we need you to send someone with weapon tech no how to go into the silo and seal the warhead, according to the status boards and schematics I'm looking at, all it is on this device is a door with a sealing key, imagine a giant bulkhead door on a ship basically, so it should be easy peasy. However, their expertise is needed for the consoles there. You see, while I can look at the device, read status controls for the device, and so on, the key components that would give me use of the missile's docking bay are either dead or just not connected. However, the missile trucks are still nearby. So you could disassemble it once I get it topside. Also, don't worry, the few cameras working indicate nothing is alive here now, so it's all a go. To summarize it all, "Shut door on missile, radiation on base dies, you get missile and navigation controls and maybe some vehicles, and we take some tech via train, and go home that much more supplied."

OOC: I did, but the forum conked out and signed me out when I tried to submit my edit. So I just said screw it and am going to play like my radio didnt pick up that signal for my sanities sake.

Sutler was momentarily blinded when the lights came on, "[censored]!" he yelled before switching off the external and internal lights on his suit. Suddenly Mieux had contacted him over the Wattz.

"Hell of a thing, but thats the way the world works." He sighed a moment and cleared his voice. To summarize it all, "Shut door on missile, radiation on base dies, you get missile and navigation controls and maybe some vehicles, and we take some tech via train, and go home that much more supplied."

Sutler let Mieux finish, "Yeah, the Enclave developed a superior version of Rad-X to be administered via a hypodermic needle, there was some in the crate with the suits." Sutler checked his pouches for the small cases of syringes, he found them and took one out and motioned Kong over; Kong knew that the needle was meant for him and before being prompted he opened the patch on the armour of his wrist designed for field injections, Sutler winced slightly as the sharp metal tip sunk into Kong's vein and he slowly displaced the orange fuid into Kong; he grunted with pain and looked at Sutler.

"Alright Mr President sir, what would yeah have me do?"

"Through this door is the rocket silo itself, now that the lights are on I can see that it leads to the rocket gantry, there will a terminal through here to complete the proceedure for completing the missile and hopefully stopping further radioactive contamination. Once that has been completed we will contest ownership of much of the tech still here, be listening for "Atlas". Mieux says that there are no hostiles in the vincinity so I am in perfect saftey. Now hurry up, the sooner we are done here the better."

Sutler patted Kong on the back and stepped aside to usher him into the silo, Kong walked along the ancient gantry, he was feeling very nervous it creaked beneath his armour, fortunately the terminal was not to far onto the catwalk; when Kong reached it he was relieved to see that it was not locked, it had nothing to do with the launch of the missile but merely checking its final functions. He accessed "Seal Warhead" and typed "Y", there was a deafening screech and the hinges on the missile finally received their orders and it began to swing shut, Kong breathed a sigh of relief and in the process looked down... It's an awful long way he noted, before being grateful that he was leaving the cavernous room behind.

Sutler was on the radio to Mieux, "We currently have nobody with the capability to understand this weapon with us, however I'm sure the Dr Bennet would be able to do something with this weapon, we'll fly him here shorty after our business is concluded..." Sutler stopped and slid open the door at the sound of a grating noise. "My boy has the missile door dealing right now, we'll make our way back up."

Much less warey of hostiles this time, Sutler and Kong returned to the other's, Omicron Squad having relaxed their perimeter around Mieux; they all saluted Sutler as they passed.

"Alright Mieux," said Sutler when he had returned, he sounded... determined. "What's going to happen now then, are you going to load up whatever technology you deem useful?"

Mieux looked over to Alex with a sort of smarmy grin, "No Mr. Sutler, ALL the tech here is mine." He then made a childishly evil laugh, "But seriously Mr. President, I don't care if you took that missle and ate it. the things I want are by far arcane and ancient to Enclave standards." And right on time, another faint whir was heard far away. "Alex, stay here and watch those monitors. If Sutler tries to stop us then I want you to activate the neutralize option on the warhead. But, considering the tech I want is old and outdated to the Enclave, they'll not have need for it." He swiped the card in the keycard lock on the inside, he then pushed the lock button and threw the keycard to Alex, he then cleverly unplugged the keycard machine so no one but he could reactivate it.

The floodlights on the administrative roof shone on the courtyard below, the milk white Vertibird with the gilded words 'Arcadia' on the side, had landed, the rotors halted now. Mieux stood smugly, waiting for the troops to exit. four troops in Pre-War combat armor emerged, a final man in a Pre-War general's outfit came out, his hair the exact cut and color of General Chase from Operation Anchorage. "Sir, General Matthews at the ready sir!" Mieux lowered a hand, "At ease gentlemen, we're not here to commit violence, we're here to extract five cargo trucks, three crates with fifty R-91 Assault Rifles, two crates containing obsolete former issue one hundred 9mm handguns, and one crate containing fifty 10mm submachine guns. Next, we'll be taking some of the furniture and odds and ends. That flag up there? I want it taken with us, also, I want any computer hardware unrelated to the use of the nuclear warhead to be taken too. Now, the operation will last for approximately three days. So lets get to it." Almost as if psychic, he rolled his eyes 'three, two, one' and soon as his mind hit 'one' he heard the administration building doors slam open and boots stomp down onto the courtyard towards the vertibird. 'Here comes Sutler.' he mentally groaned.

Sutler had removed his radiation suit and ran out after Mieux, the light of day stung his eyes' again, not helped when he saw a bright white Vertibird glaring light in all directions. He saw Mieux and a similarly aged man disgracing the uniform of a US General and four of Mieux's soldiers, Sutler was flanked by Kong and Fairfax.

"Hold it right there Mieux," Sutler called authoritively as he approached the group. "This installation is United States Federal Property and you're "finders keepers" claim to this place is almost tribal, what you take from here will be at my juristiction. We agreed, there are things here I have no use for, conventional firearms, military-grade combat armour, fine take it all; pieces of technology however, computer software, technology anything necessary to the operation of this installation as a whole must be ran by me first you hear. Don't think you can bully me either Mieux you are most certainly out-gunned, I am sure Alex appreciates being left in the presence of three Enclave troopers." Sutler glanced at the General, "And what's this Mieux, a General, seriously? I thought you were an intelligent man, you're forces barely warrent a Colonel presuming that you're using US Army standards, which if you aren't then why keep the titles." Sutler glanced him up and down again. "Why is he trying to immitate that General... got the same hair... Chase that's it, why Chase he was a pompous ass."

Mieux made a feined look of hurt, "Oh Sutler, you wound me." He the then straightened his face. "As to my soldiers, I figured you of all people would be PROUD of them donning the uniforms of Pre-War soldiers. In a matter of years, I've reformed these men from TRIBALS," Mieux saying the word tribal with disdain, sharing Sutlers opinion on Wastelanders,"into civilized soldiers. I teach them old world values of discipline, pride in their duty, and rule of law and order." Mieux saw the soldiers looking nervously, well aware this was a fight weapons wouldn never win. "As to Alex? He's perfectly safe, with sole control to the warhead." Mieux grinned that arrogant grin. "I make no attempts to bully you Mr. President, I think my demands are perfectly reasonable. What I want are any working computers that educate the soldiers further in Pre-War fashion. I tell you what, you let a scientist forage with my men, anything he deems vital to national security, it's yours. Anything that has no value beyond education and training, we keep. Here, look at my list of wants, all largely obselete by Enclave standards. Considering that I'm holding that warhead hostage soley so I can get pretty much get anything that ISNT the warhead. However, in good faith, I will give your men free entrance to the room Alex is safely sealed in." He handed the list, and a hand written diagram to rewire the exterior card reader on the blast doors. "Also, I contemplated taking it for myself, but, upon reflection that you'll likely be able to gain more use of them. He handed from his pocket a manilla envelope. Inside containing the schematics and access codes to an old USAF spy satellite, judging by what I read, it's unusable as a weapon, but it recorded old pre-war information from other satellites. I'd imagine you'll have ALOT of information to listen to. Albiet useless now most likely, but, if you're a historian like myself, you'll find it intriguing." He corrected himself, realize he was rambling on about 'the good old days' and pre-war tech. "Anyway, enough tarrying, so Mr. President, are my terms for tech fair?" Mieux said, looking quite confident. His greatest ability was to make compromises. Deal or deal types never lasted long, this was how he survived so long.

Sutler's stern face didn't move an inch whilst Mieux talked, he continued to glare before finally when Mieux finished he nodded his head as though agreeing with himself. "The only people I want wearing United States Army Uniforms Mieux, are United States Army Personnel like I who have served for over two-thirds of my life. The point about Alex was that he surely would have no motivation to neutralise the weapon, if he had he would have been pasted all over the walls by Jefferson and the boys. But fine, this list," he made a careless gesture too it as he scanned it. "Fine, I just want anything which is needed for this istallation to remain operational, that and some of the vehicles un-doubtabley here, I'll send a man along to guide the hands of your personnel, I'll look at this satillite too." Sutler lit a cigarette and took a drag before continuing. "Am I to assume that you're dropping whatever justification you have for this place and returning it to the Government?"

Mieux shrugged, a look as though the base was beneath him, "I can't drop a justification it never had. The only thing here I still hold rightful claim over is the underground bunker and the metroline. Anything here, keep it. Honestly, albiet two different ideals, you and I have the same goal. Seeing this place with bright lights again will do my heart good. And, those lesser citizens of yours, you could easily ship here as an extension of your power. This base was never mine, so I won't lose anything. As to vehicles, this place was a depot, check those large hangers, and you'll find them." He then looked over three of the troops and whistled loudly, he then pointed to the nearest hanger. "You three, check there, strap some uniform and weapon crates onto the truck and load the crates onto the Vertibird. Those are vital to our cities military." He then looked back to Sutler, "Also, while I recognize your right to governance and presidency. I will not make these men keep those uniforms alive. You may not have noticed, but Arcadia has Amerian flags fluttering in the breeze. Sutler, I never stopped believing in my country, even when the government did. These boys? They keep the spirit of the old world alit. So don't you tell me your men are the only ones fit to wear those uniforms. These men? They EARNED their uniform. Every Private starts off in the military with nothing but a pair of combat boots, some cargo pants and a tshirt. They dont earn the right to that uniform until they rank up. I ensure my men are put through hell. The good ol USA, well, she ain't so pretty these days. But my boys and girls are fighting for the same damn cause as yours, healing America of her sickness." For the first time in a long time, he stormed back into the HQ building, he sat at the worn desk of the generals, sitting in the locked room. He stared at the corpse of the dead general on the floor, his face disgusting from becoming feral. He grabbed the glass of scotch on the table and drank from it in a puff. He mopped his hand through his hair, looking at the worn old portrait of the President of the United States, he then looked down, his heart sinking. More and more, he was grateful his death was near in a few years. This world, this is nor the world he knew, this life was a curse, sure he built alot, maybe even repaved the road to humanities survival, but in the end, he knew he was a dodo bird who survived extinction.

"I can't drop a justification it never had. As to vehicles, this place was a depot, check those large hangers, and you'll find them. You three, check there, strap some uniform and weapon crates onto the truck and load the crates onto the Vertibird. Those are vital to our cities military. Also, while I recognize your right to governance and presidency. I will not make these men keep those uniforms alive. You may not have noticed, but Arcadia has Amerian flags fluttering in the breeze. Sutler, I never stopped believing in my country, even when the government did. These boys? They keep the spirit of the old world alive. So don't you tell me your men are the only ones fit to wear those uniforms. These men? They EARNED their uniform. Every Private starts off in the military with nothing but a pair of combat boots, some cargo pants and a t-shirt. They dont earn the right to that uniform until they rank up. I ensure my men are put through hell. The good ol USA, well, she ain't so pretty these days. But my boys and girls are fighting for the same damn cause as yours, healing America of her sickness."

Sutler curled his old hands into fists but kept them near his pistol, veins were sticking out of his arms and his face grew red, then suddenly he was ranting at Mieux. "My lesser people are the American Government you fool and always were even before your aburdly long life had even begun all you saw was a front, a figurehead behind which the real men called the shots. The "American Ideals" you cling to are completely seperate from the government, I've noticed you flying our flag over you place, donning our uniforms, what you believed in was a little something called "Human Spirit" or whatever right? Self-Made Men rising from nothing to glory, that has nothing to do with the government and you pissy "army" are nothing more than glorified hotel security, me and my people paied for our lives with the blood of our entire civilisation, you've fought a single battle with a single group, not even a battle really, you were under seige and then you quite righty brought your men in and sealed the building. Whilst you were cacooned in your pod or whatever you were doing 35 years ago I was on top of an NCR trooper tearing out his throat whilst watching everyone I knew again get slaughtered; [censored] NCR and [censored] wastelanders you people have taken everything away from me and as soon as get the missile running I'll wipe the NCR from the face of the [censored] Earth." He threw his cigarette to the floor and took some calming breaths

Mieux was storming away and Sutler looked scathingly after him. "I'll be alive when your dead Miex and even if it takes a 1'000 years your Arcadia will be nothing but ashes whilst the Enclave and America are reborn!" Sutler looked at the "General", "Aren't you going to see your boss?"

General Matthews, General of Operations-

The general snapped to salute, "No sir Mr. President sir!" He shifted his position when given 'at ease', his trenchcoat whipping faintly in the wind "Sir, if I may interject. Mr. Mieux is very stern where we lie our loyalties. He just doesn't trust in the Enclave because it's a government entity, but he's told us that we must respect the Enclave and anyone who dons the title of President or Vice President. He means well, but his distrust for government will never let him trust the Enclave sir. He's even gone as far as making us forbid people from mocking the Enclave in public rallies. Sir, despite you and he bearing a heated relationship, he's trying his best to keep things as level with you. But he's not a politician, he's a businessman sir." General Matthews finished speaking, his last words echoing faintly as his gentle tone finished speaking. He stood by and listened to President Sutler. After the president said his part, Matthews looked nervously, "I beg your apologies Mr. President, but by your leave, we are under strict time schedules sir. Permission to be dismissed sir!" Matthews stood to attention, his head straight forward. By the presidents dismissal he saluted Sutler and half turned and stopped, he looked back at Sutler and said, "Er, I apologize sir, but, well er, it's an honor to finally meet the President of our United States sir." Matthews said, obviously trying as hard as he could to surpress his excitement to meet Sutler. He extended his gloved hand to President Sutler in a handshake, then quickly leading his squad to a nearby cargo truck.

Sutler's feelings of rage gave way to that of bemusedment at Mieux's General, he couldn't remember getting such praise, such respect in an awful long time; he watched the General march away with his men and then at the door of the Admin building and slowly, some might even say sheepishly, Sutler re-entered the Admin. He eventaully found Mieux in the old General's Office drinking from a glass of scotch, finally something I approve of Sutler thought as he quietly opened the door to the office, not saying a word to Mieux he swiped the bottle of scotch from the desk and looked around for another glass, finally locating one he poured himself a glass with the aire of a pro and downed it in a single gulp before replacing the bottle.

"Look Mieux, I know you and I have had our difference's but maybe what's needed here is some mutual respect, on both sides. I understand that I must be a difficult man to deal with pretty much all of the time but you have to understand me, where I am coming from, can you even fathom just how much these people have taken from me, just how much I have lost and fought in my whole life; I didn't want to be a soldier, I wanted to be a businessman too, I wanted to do a few tours of duty on the mainland, come back with a chestful of medals to attract the dames and continue my academic studies. Everything broke down, everything I ever knew was robbed from me and then again not long after, it took me 2 years to make it to Raven Rock from California, saw and did some bad things on the way..." Sutler trailed off and went quiet.
