New Manhattan is probably one of the longest running threads in Bethesda Forums history, if not the longest! Thanks for your extreme dedication to this RP.

I am still accepting new rpers. This RP is as free as can be, you can be whoever you want. The plot is held together by the main characters, but you do not have to be in the main plot if you don't want to.

Rules:

1. Keep Things Civil: I have seen many threads locked because of uncivility. Keep things clean and don't insult other people.

2. Post Length: I don't really care about the length of a post, but make it longer than just a sentence ok?

3. How Much You Should Post: If you are a main character or want to be one, post at least twice a day (this is not a binding rule.) If you are a side character, post at least once every two days or so. All I really want you to do is to make sure you are on top of whats going on. This RP is quick, and just missing a day can mean that you missed some key plot points.

4. NO UBERING: This is major. Don't play a god character. Don't uber at all, it ruins the RP for everybody. Please, follow RP canon. If you have to take an elevator to get to a location, don't just fly your vertibird, land, and just waltz in. Follow the lore that has been set.

5. Don't Do A Major Plot Change Without Other's Approval: Don't nuke a town to the ground unless you have approval.

6. Major events: Major events require planning. You HAVE TO GO THROUGH ME to plan a major event in the RP. Smaller events like a visit, no, you do not have to go through me. But a LARGE event like a huge battle, yes, go through me first.

7. Ask Questions. If in doubt, ask a me or a fellow RPer a question via OOC thread or PM. Don't assume, ask questions.

Locations:

EMPIRE WASTELAND:

New Manhattan: a walled town located on what was Central Park. The town is a thriving town with about 1500 people within its walls. The town is heavily sought after by several groups and is in the middle of a huge power struggle. Where will you fit in?

New York City is dark and depressing. Manhattan was full of tall buildings and still is. Sunlight rarely penetrates unto the streets below. Mutants are everywhere. The only safe place in Manhattan is the city of New Manhattan.

The city itself: (The year is 2283). The mayor is dead and the mayorship is being contested.

Central Square: The area where people come to talk about the day. Many shops and bars are located here.

North Wall: The area at the North of Town. It is heavily guarded as mutants attempt to break down the walls every day. Beyond the walls is darkness and death. Mostly a resedential area.

Evergreen: The area of town where casinos and bars are. The mafia hangs out here. The casinos are: CAPone (run by me) Yellowlight Poker and Snacks, and RADIATION.

Reuters: The main industrial area. This is where all the manufacturing happens.

Reuters Way: The only road in and out of town. It is heavily walled and leads to the Brookyln Bridge. A small port is located where the bridge once stood.

Ivory Square: The govermental square of New Manhattan

The Empire Wasteland:

Poseidon Energy Headquarters: Pre-war Poseidon Energy Corporate Headquarters and research facility. Enclave bunker beneath is now used by 50 D.C. remnants. Led by President Sutler and Colonel Adams.

Liberty Lost: A slaver camp located where the Statue of Liberty is. This is a HUGE slaver operation. The slavers are led by Fred Gandoe. They want control of New Manhattan.

New Rabition (Rabithead.): a smoldering ruin. Don't expect looting here.

Ghoul High: A small ghoul town located on the ruins of Queens High School in Queens. Home to about 126 Ghouls. They make their money by scauaging and trade. They are seeking to be controlled by New Manhattan.

Vault 109: Once a vault, now scraqed for Enclave use. The GECK was found there. Alexander Scalatti hails from there.

Vault 110: A vault that is still inhabited. The experiment was never enacted due to complications. Home to about 1200 People. Raiders want to attack and take it over.

Popgoestheweasel: A raider camp. Almost everyone wants it destroyed. The raiders launch attacks on almost every settlement. Located North of Manhattan.

Radioville: A medium sized town located in a walled compund in South Manhattan. A pre-war radio tower is located here. This town is where "Empire Radio" is broadcasted from. The mayor is Renald Paulson. who is also the DJ for the radio station.

Charlie and Sons Chemicals: A now abandoned building. Once housed the mutant army.

Camp Android: A huge camp led by the insitute. They want control of New Manhattan.

Arcadia: A growing town located near New Manhattan. Is led by a reclusive man named Justin.

Antium:

Great Legion Wall - A massive wall circling across the ruins of Stamford to deter any unwanted forces. Heavily garrisoned on all sides with only two entrances. Each has a checkpoint every 500 meters, containing one rocket artillery position.
Noctem Gate - The secondary gates that are a popular hot spot at night, having many bars and inns around the Noctem gate.
Diem Gate - The main gates that shine from day to night as if it were noon all day long. Where all caravans and travelers stop to trade goods. Has many trading stalls right outside.
Zodiac Tower - Houses the main government officials and has the Zodiac Penthouse where William and Sonia live.
Xian Plaza - A massive plaza containing 90% of all the major work places , food supply areas, markets, and casinos. Very high living costs, usually only company owners can live here.
Medici Residential Area - Where everybody who isn't a company owner or government official live. The largest District, containing about 50 big apartments, all renovated Pre-War buildings.
Horizon Square - The most popular hot spot for government officials and their secretaries. Also where the NSU(Nova Spy Unit) acts as a sort of Secret Service.

Bridgeport: Located about 30 Miles from New Manhattan. A new but growing city. Is a major trade hub, as it is located on the extreme edge of the Empire Wasteland. Supplies clean water due to its old water treatment plant. Has the population number of Junktown. Many refugees want to enter the city, so the supplies are strained.

Congress Gate: The northern gate of the city. A smaller gate.

John Davis Gate: The main gate into Bridgeport. Slums are located near the gate.

Baldwin Plaza: The central square of the city. The goverment buildings are located here.

Crossway Market: Located on the old ruins of a mall, this is one of the biggest markets in the world. Traders from all over come to here for supplies.

Federation Square: The square where the Lake Federation Embassy is.

The Port: A major port located on the waterfront.

The Slums: Located just outside of the John Davis Gate. The slums are dangerous and smelly. Expect to get mugged. Most of the citizens go around and enter through the Congress Gate. All of the citizens of the Slums are refugees.

BEYOND THE EMPIRE WASTELAND:

The Lake Federation: A large federation of towns that makes it money by fishing and by water caravans. They are located in Michigan and parts of Canada.

Detroit: The acting capital of the Lake Federation. A bridge connects Detroit to Ronto. Combined, there are over 10,000 citizens living in the combined city area.

Laketon: A smoldering ruin that is being rebuilt.

Ronto: A former raider/slaver fortress that was captured by Lake Federation Soldiers.

General Motors Factory: Where the Tesla Lamp is located.

The Pitt: Used to be major trog infested hell-hole with raiders all over the place. Then, the Lone Wanderer came. He cleared the place out of raiders. About three years later, the Lake Federation came in and completely cleared the place out of everything. LF citizens came in and now inhabit the city. Home to the Lake Federation Military Command. The city is home to about 5000 people.

OOC: I changed the story a bit Colonel :D

Alexander Scalatti

Alex gazed in wonder at all of the stuff in the museum. What impressed him the most however, was the Corevega. Wow, damn, the only cars I have seen were movie cars, and junkyard wannabies, but this car is in drivable condition.

Alex then walked over to a painting, of a very beautiful female, almost more beautiful than Ann. Well, in Alex's opinion at least.

"This painting? This is she, Estel, she was a beauty, sadly, she was murdered in an alleyway before the war. That is why I do not flirt with girls, not a highbrow opinion of myself, but out of loyalty to her, and our unborn child, the child those mugger louts murdered."

Wait, I know that face from somewhere...wait...oh no, damn, is that, no, it can't be, it is! Thats the woman from the memory bank!

You see, the vault had a Caste system, but whenever someone died, their brains were implanted into a machine, and all of their thoughts, worries, distress, and memories were also implanted. Alex once snuck into the room, and took a peek at his ancestor's memories.

As Alex sat down at Justin's desk. He decided it was time to tell. "I don't know how to put this Justin, but my ancestor was the one who killed your um, wife, excuse me if i'm wrong. You see, the bombs were about to fall in a week, and my ancestor was driving home. My family could not afford a vault. My ancestor was getting very desperate, as he needed to scrounge up 5 Million dollars to get into the vault. One day, as he was driving home, he noticed his brother and his friends mugging a group of people. He got out of his car, and told them to stop. His brother grew very irate and told him that the money from here could pay their way into the vault. Well, Estel began to fight, so, his brother wanted to shoot her. My ancestor struggled with his brother, but my ancestor's gun went off, killing Estel. He was FBI so he always had a gun. My ancestor was clearly very upset, but checked her purse anyway. Inside, was 5 Million dollars, exactly. The next week or so, the bombs fell, but his brother and friends did not make it, as you killed them. My ancestor is the only survivor of that mugging party."

Lyn Grave
New Manhattan Mayor's Estate

Lyn woke up in the morning, at the crack of dawn as was usual. She rolled around in the bed, not wanting to leave the comfortable bedding. After a bit of internal argument, she got up. She stretched out a bit, then made her way to the bathroom. She closed the bathroom door, then stripped down and turned on the shower. She washed off for quite a while, enjoying the warm water. Lyn eventually turned the water off, and stepped out. She grabbed a towel and dried herself off, then grabbed a spare bathrobe and put that on. She left her regular clothes in the bathroom, assuming the butler would wash them. She then headed down to the kitchen to get some breakfast.

Borgia Manus

"Mark, we just need to wait for Terry to return, hopefully with news of the leader of New Manhattan, or perhaps additional information on the city to the south," Borgia said, with a trace of excitement. Mark nodded.

"It is still early morning, I'm sure you have just sent Terry out?" Mark asked.

"Yes, along with three other scouts."

"This is good news, as I'm finding it difficult to acquire the suit."

"Keep looking. Anton and I will join you, as caravan guards. This is a simple close-quartered recon mission."

"Okay Borgia, I'll continue searching. I'll return around midday?" Borgia shook his head.

"We will leave at midnight."

"No problem." Mark turned and walked towards his tent, the one he shared with Borgia.

Borgia sat down in the middle of Camp A and produced a cigarette from his Salvation Duster. He lit it up and inhaled.

"Going for the healthy breakfast option?" Borgia looked up to see Marie. He chuckled.

"Is there any remains?"

"No Borgia, the entire Raider has been consumed. Old Charles ordered the slaughter of three Kidnapped to be distributed throughout the outpost...excuse me, the Beach."

"Good. Our rations may become dreadfully low in the next while. How far along are the Pure Mothers?"

"I'll ask Doc, but I believe one, Kathie, is nearing eight months pregnant. The other nine are between one and six months along. And you asked me to run errands for you? I gathered a small team and they are making big, extravagant signs stating the name Salvation Beach. I have also found you a man to run the economics. He is quite brilliant, an old man named Albert. He resides in Camp H but I told him to make his way here after he has eaten."

"Perhaps we'll make a convincing town after all," said Borgia, feeling genuinely happy that for once the Salvation's plans were coming along as hoped.

Mayor Frank Vercelotti - Mayoral Estate

The Mayor continued snoring until dawn when he finally awoke from his slumber; his head slightly numb from last nights drinking. Heh, I didn't even get drunk. Lyn was stoned, she's gonna be in hell when she gets up! he managed a smile, rubbing his eyes, watching the early morning rays of light pierce through his satin curtains. Sitting up in the bed, he stroked his face, noticing the stubble and shuffled to the bathroom to shave and bathe. The water was warm as usual, and Frank took his time cleaning himself.

Once finished; he finally slipped into one of his fitted pinstripe suits, and tied the laces of his leather wingtips. The television and holotapes Mr. Mieux had sent him were placed in the corner of his room where he had enjoyed several classic mobster films. Now this is some real entertainment! Frank had concluded after completing the third film in the pile.

Finally having finished his morning ritual; the Mayor descended the staircase and entered the kitchen where the Butler greeted him, offering a bowl of cereal out of the kitchens food dispenser unit; similar to the ones found in Vaults to renew and prolong the life of food and drink. Whilst eating his cereal; Lyn entered the room.

"Hey Lyn!" Frank waved, watching her walk in; observing every stride she took, broadening his smile as she drew closer. "How was your night?" he asked.

"May I treat you to some cereal, Ma'am?" the Butler chimed in; asking Lyn.

Mieux gave a slight shrug of his shoulders. "It's no matter to me Alex." He yawned briefly, "You see, your relatives drew a debt in blood, and I came collecting on that debt. I'm sure karma had it's own way of making your ancestor suffer for it. But, the past is the past, and we have to learn to accept it. Perhaps you learn a shocking revelation of my own. Remember Snowes assination attempt on Fairfield? Well, that was me, but it's not as simple as you think. Though his name escapes me at the moment. Snowe wanted Fairfield dead, and he would replace him with someone else, who is VERY friendly with Gauss Project. So, I hired a young loyalist of Gauss Project, paid him through proxies, and had him stab Fairfield 'fatally'. Though, I misguided the kid to seriously wound Fairfield, but he would ultimately survive. I do apologize about you getting hit in the explosion though. I had the explosions soley so he couldnt be identified. Now, why did I let Snowe get blamed? Simple, Snowe is my enemy. Had he been allowed to suceed in killing Fairfield, he'd have Lake Federation as his allies. No, I needed them to be YOUR allies, who in turn would be MY allies. Though I wounded him, I ultimately saved him." Mieux took a sip of water out a glass. Alex clearly was blown away at this revelation, "Relax Alex, you see, I told you for a reason. To bring back the glory of the old world, cold tactics are required. You see, when Fairfield was wounded, Snowe realized immediately who set him but, and worse, he knew that I set him up so I could never be suspected. Not me. Not Arcadia. Like I said, I hurt Fairfield to save him, as funny as that sounds. His death would have meant mine, and thanks to me, Lake Federation, and in turn Arcadia, and further in turn, New Manhattan, have thrived. Of course, this is classified information you have just learned. Consider it Lesson number two. Machiavelli tactics are the key to ensuring you remain in power." He then raised his hands outstretched and slowly circled the room, "All this Alex, all of this is nothing if you do not have the force to enforce your hand. If you like, your welcome to bring Bridgeport here, let Arcadia consume it, and they shall become residents. Sutler will not be pleased, but I can find some way to make him stay cordial, I hope. But I'll worry about that."

He then looked to Alex, and he simply said, "So, baby steps Alex. What should we do about Bridgeport? Invite them to move into Arcadia? Or should we let them stay independent?"

"Ah, cereal would be good. A mutfruit would be good too." She sat down At the table next to Frank. "I slept really well. Feeling good this morning too. My hangover is next to nothing." She cringed slightly as she let out a hint of her secret. The butler set a bowl of cereal and a mutfruit in front of her at that time. She took alternating bites of the cereal and fruit. I can't believe Frank lives like this every day! This is paradise!

Mayor Frank Vercelotti - Mayoral Estate

The butler nodded, and brought Lyn the cereal and a mutfruit freshly picked from one of the New Manhattan farms. Upon finishing his food; Frank got up and wiped his mouth with a napkin.

"I better get to the office. You were there last night so Im sure you must have heard." he said to Lyn, then remembered. "Oh wait, you were tipsy." he chuckled, sipping some coffee the Butler just poured him.

"Coffee for you ma'am?" the Butler offered Lyn.

"Anyway, Mr. Mieux, Alex Scallati, Director William Snowe, and I have a lot to discuss; considering we're forming an alliance." he explained, but stood silent for a moment thinking. Wait, she's leading Bridgeport. the Mayor remembered. "We might need you there too." he added. "Im going over to the office building as I need to get some paperwork done. After that Im going over to Mr. Mieux' tower to discuss things. You're more than welcome to accompany me if you wish." Frank offered Lyn, downing the last of his coffee, and lighting one of the cigars Mieux gifted him before turning to leave the estate.

Lyn finished her breakfast soon after Frank did. She declined the coffee that was offered to her. "I will meet up with you as soon as I get dressed," she said as she motioned to the bathrobe. After Frank got up and left, Lyn also got up. She wandered through the bedrooms, looking for some women's clothing. She happened to find a skirt and a tank top that would fit her. She put those on, and as was usual, strapped her 9mm pistol to her leg so that it would be hidden under the skirt. She left the bedroom, and informed the butler that she left her old clothes in the bathroom before leaving. Outside, she was met by Gramps and her deathclaw waiting for her.

"So, how was your night?" Gramps asked

"I slept great, and I feel great this morning. How about you?" Lyn replied.

"I slept fine and all, but I've got one hell of a hangover. Guess I got a bit carried away, finding my baby girl." Gramps responded with a groan.

"You can tough it out, right Gramps?" She said as she threw her arm around his shoulders and began walking to the mayor's office.

"You know it," Gramps finished.

Acting President of the Enclave of the United States of America Alan James Sutler - Poseidon Energy Headquarters

Sutler had awoken that morning as bright and early as his old bones would allow him, his leg still playing him up he limped down to the Command Center, returning the salutes of the few soldiers on patrol in the corridors, everyone was always so busy these days tending the new produce being grown on the surface; the GECK was still unused and was safely secured in Sutler's own quarters alongside an old defunct http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_football secured from Adams Airforce Base as a souvenir. Sutler entered the Command Center and strode over to the visual communication terminal before connection with Miuex's personal terminal in his Penthouse; Sutler waited impatiently for his transmittion to be received.

Alex had appeared to just about to speak, when the logo of the Enclave appeared on his screen. " Ah, hold that thought Alex." Mieux said, turning the vocal systems on. "Good morning Mr. President. What can I do for you today?" Mieux said, his picture staring down at Sutler off his monitor. "Is this in relation to your visit today?" Mieux asked, his voice genuinely curious as to what Sutler could want. Mieux rubbed his hands together, realizing his condition was now starting to affect his nerves and touch senses. 'It's only going to keep getting worse' he thought, he smiled and thought how even though it's only been a few hours, Alex was a highly efficient protoge. If Alex kept learning at the pace he was, Mieux would hand down the name 'Mieux' to Alex.

"Good morning Mr. President. What can I do for you today? Is this in relation to your visit today?"

Sutler noted that Miuex seemed less genial than last time, good Sutler thought vicously, whatever affects the wastelanders negatively was always a plus in his book. "Of course Miuex, why ever else should I be contacting you other than business?" I shall arive within the next hour and shall be escorted by Omicron Squad, I assume my people are allowed to remain armed during my visits?" Sutler was still getting the feeling that Miuex was trying to stare him down, perhaps he had heard of the Enclave's recent activities on Manhattan Island? Whatever, Sutler thought as he comtemplated this, What can Miuex possibly do and then again why should he even care?

Mieux gave a condescending chuckle, his voice like that of a parent to their child when saying something silly, "Oh come now Alan, I can't very well allow a flood of soldiers to barge into my home again. I had enough of that during Snowes agressive behavior. No. Mr. Sutler, you're to come alone with me and Alex, where we will ride the metro car to the old Army Depot, then you'll give it's coordinates to your vertibird and your saluaging squad can come to the base. Do bring a book, the ride is roughly ten minutes long." Though Sutler couldnt see Mieuxs actual face, Mieux wished he could, he knew it would make Sutler angry. Just as much as Sutler looked down on Mieux, Mieux looked down on him just as much. It was even more humorous to Mieux that it was essentially two snarling dogs trying to show the other they still have as much bark as they did in their youth. "Listen Sutler, there isn't much for you to take, I've taken what few weapons crates and uniforms there are. Or course, if its materials you want, you're more than welcome to strip it oh whatever you deem usable. Oh, and, I found alot of radar and high end technical equipment there. I only took the very best I could find. However, there was one particular storage building I couldnt access. It bore a Presidential Keycard doorlock. So if you are in posession of one of those old relics, bring that too. Must be important for it to be sealed in blast doors though. Anyway, we'll find out when you get here. Please, don't tarry my young friend." he then broke connection and turned to Alex. "Well, looks like you and I need to be ready for Sutler and his boys to arrive in an hour."

He then looked to Alex, and he simply said, "So, baby steps Alex. What should we do about Bridgeport? Invite them to move into Arcadia? Or should we let them stay independent?"

Alex chuckled a bit. "I basicly own Bridgeport. I'd prefer to be independent for now. Once we beat back those commies we can form a union of some sort."

"Well, looks like you and I need to be ready for Sutler and his boys to arrive in an hour."

Alex adjusted his pitch black suit and fedora. "All ready."

Empire Radio

Todd: Hey Empire Wasteland! Its me, your very favorite radio DJ Todd Beneke. Oh my, isn't New Manhattan so lovely? I mean, the city is so big. Its been named the biggest city on the Eastern Seaboard by Lake Federation Officials.

But listeners, I tell you of an even bigger city on the West Coast. Its under the control of some New Cali folks or something like that. Recently, some LF scouts discovered some NCR scouts, what the hell does NCR stand for? They spoke of a city called NCR City, what the [censored] does NCR stand for? Anyways, the city, according to them, has about 50,000 people! Damn, thats huge!

Now, food prices in New Manhattan have dropped to their lowest point in years due to the Lake Federation caravans coming in. Maize is now less than 6 Caps a piece!

Anyways, thanks for listening, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3gsPBTmbRo

Acting President of the Enclave of the United States of America Alan James Sutler - Poseidon Energy Headquarters

"That mainland mutie bastard," Sutler cursed, "He thinks that he can talk down to me!" Sutler calmed down and remembered what Mieux had said about a Presidential Seal, whilst the keycard required to open it was long gone, one could be easily manufactured using the data available in the base. Sutler was about to make his preparations before one of the technicians almost tripped over trying to reach him.

"Mr President sir," she blurted out. "That wasteland radio reported that the large organisation mentioned by the mafiso has been in contact with New California Republic scouts."

The words took a while to reform in Sutler brain, after ten seconds he snapped back into reality.

"Are you sure?" Sutler said, taking the women forcably taking the technician by the arm and leading her back to the console.

"Yes sir Mr President," she said slightly worried, Sutler's almost monsterous persona around the NCR was the stuff of rumour and legend. "Here are the transripts," fumbling she handed the freshly printed paper to Sutler who scanned it several times before brushing past her to the console. He activated the mandatory protocols and said,

"Attention Empire Radio, this is Acting President Sutler of the Enclave of the United States of America, you are to immediately tell me all you know of these NCR scouts, time is of the essence, where did you aquire that infomation, how old is it and how much more do you know than can be fit into your occasional and brief "news" bulletins, out with it!"

"Todd, we have a call from some Enclave people."

Todd grabbed the phone. "Enclave? I thought that the Lone Wanderer blew them all up, lemme talk to them." Todd pressed the call button. "Hello?"

Todd scratched his chin. "Oh yes, the Lake Federation sent some scouts on a Louis and Clark esque expedition. Somewhere in Colorado or something like that, they discovered some NCR scouts or some crap like that. Its new news, very new in fact."

Sutler snorted in derision down the receiver at the Lone Wanderer but stopped cold at the NCR news.

"Colorado? [censored]!" Sutler restrained the urge to slam the receiver down, he replaced it in it's craddle and stormed out of the Command Center to slightly anxious looks from the personnel.

It is imperative I get to Mieux's tower, Sutler thought widely. [i]That Alex character has some kind of connection with the President of the Federation, surely a deal can be struck whilst there is time.[i]

----------------------------------------

'596 was nearing Miuex's tower, Sutler was at Mieux's smug request on his own, Mieux could act as powerful as he wanted, Sutler was a soldier by trade and had no problem being on his own. Before they had even fully touched down Sutler vaulted from the open door of the Vertibird, something which his knees' would un-doubtedly remind him of later, and stormed into the tower; he had to make an offer whilst there was still time.

"I'll see to you later. Wouldn't want to ruin your alone time with Frank." Gramps said as he gave her a wink and walked off. Lyn waved goodbye to him before steping into the office.

"Hey Frank, need help with your paperwork?" Lyn asked as she took a seat.

Mieux stood next to Alex, who was sitting at the Mieuxs desk. Mieux was buttoning his double briasted brown suit when President Sutler came through the doors of the elevator with a haste step in his walk, "Good to see you Mr. Sutler." Mieux said, a smug grin on his face, "You've met my protege Alex no? Good. Well, let's not waste time dawdling shall we? We've got work to do." He then walked over to the painting of Estel on the wall, he pressed the diamond ring, which cleverly concealed the button to reveal the escape tunnel. The blast doors squeaked loudly, 200 years of unuse proving itself. "Well gentlemen, nowhere left to go but down." Mieux carried his briefcase with him and slipped his keycard into the access port. The elevator descended to an old Metro station.

"Well, here we are." Mieux said, he suddenly felt heavy hearted. He forcefully took control of this station the day the bombs fell, he looked down as they walked past a bench as he made his way to the subway car. He looked at a dusty bear, images of a child waiting boredly while they waited for a way out that would never come came to mind. He then quickened his pace, he felt like the room, which was almost screaming silently 'The old world is no more, long forgotten' his heart screamed in fear, it intensified the feeling he was an alien in a world he was never meant to live in. He pried the half shut doors open, bearing the sigil of the US Government, the floor groaning at this new weight on its floors. He sat down on a cushion, dusting it off first. Inviting the others to do the same. A feminine computer voice then said aloud, "Where to, Mr. President?" Mieux responded, "High Security Access protocol article 7-0-5-1 disable. Authorize train access to Metro port USG-2-0-7-7." He sat and waited as the computer processed this request. "Command accepted, thank you Mr. President. God bless America sir." Mieux saw Sutler mildly confused. "I'm not all knowing if thats what your thinking Sutler. I just know everything connecting to my tower like the back of my hand. This car was, as you can guess, meant for the president of the united states at a time of crisis. Well, the government fled West, rendering this place unneeded. So, I took this place over." The train lurched forward slowly, the wheels slowly clacking on the rails. "Ah, March 24th, 2077. Interesting day that was!" Mieux said, more to himself than they, as he picked up an old newspaper, khaki colored with age.

Alexander Scalatti

Alex fell over as the train started to move. His fedora fell from his head. Damn that was a lurch. Alex grabbed his fedora, stood back up, and cleaned off of his suit.

"Sorry bout' that. This is the first train I have ever been on. And, how in the hell can this train move underground?"

Alex sat in one of the subway chairs and opened his suitcase. He took out a very old newspaper. "I found this one inside an old un-looted newsstand in Harlem. Its about the US pushing out the Chinese in Anchorage. This is a rare copy, because whenever I showed it somewhere, people would try to steal it from me."

Ann Scalatti

The skags had finished cleaning the place yesterday, and she was still waiting for Alex. "When get my hands on him...argg!" Ann took a seat in the refurbished casino.

Acting President of the Enclave of the United States of America Alan James Sutler - Mieux's Underground Railway

Mieux and his pre-war ramblings could wait, Sutler turned to Alex to cut him off.

"Scalatti, I believe you have connections with the President of a faction called the Lake Federation correct?"

Mieux was reading an article on the baseball game from the previous day, humming along to the music on the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PJVpq10g-Y when he heard Alex, "Hmm?" He said, looking curiously to Alex, "Oh, well, this line runs on an electric current, normally comes from Pre-War grids, but those are dead, this line is powered by Mieux Hotels generators, if something should happen to the generators, the emergency generators at my personal vault at the end of this line picks up the slack and powers the line unless I tell it to do otherwise. Honestly, Im surprised this thing isnt rusty, then again, being in an airtight chamber may have had alot to do with that." He said, a grin of kindness. Now that he had Alex as his tutor, he felt his time as ruler was almost up, which in turn made him alot more kinder, to Alex at least. He wondered what Sutler made of all this. Riding in a pre-war metro and all.

"Yeah, he was like the vault bully." Alex laughed a bit. "He saved my life when the mutants attacked. He left for Michigan and started the Lake Federation. I have his number on my pip-boy, so I can call him anytime."
