OOC: My exit post. It's been nice RPing in New Manhattan. It was my very first New Manhattan Thread and I am going to rejoin with a fresh new character once again. I can't abandon my very first RP that helped me become a better writer. If I'm needed or wanted, I'll keep William and Sonia as the secondary characters but I won't write them unless I need to.
Director William Snowe
"So, that's it eh?" William said with a sad voice. The councilors nodded as did the main members of the "board", the top dogs, only taking orders from William himself.
"Well, the news was settled. For Antium, I will give it to the wasteland, as it has to be. My reign will continue elsewhere, as will my citizens. They've been notified I assume?"
Byron nodded as the rest of the council was busy packing quietly. The times in New Manhattan, from surfacing, to the first New Manhattan takeover with Frank, then the Alpha Omega plan failure, and finally, the building of his Empire. It was fun, but all good things had to come to an end.
William smiled once more as he started to record two messages, one to Frank and his allies and one to Alex and his allies. The first encounters with them were probably the most memorable, even though one was a friend and one was an enemy.
He opened up a video panel. First would be for Frank and everybody he was working with.
Frank Vercelotti, we've accomplished a lot haven't we? All throughout the course of my appearance through New Manhattan...thank you for supporting the Gauss Project, or Antium as we were known. It's time now for me to pack up and leave. New Manhattan is the relic of our dreams but sometimes, dreams are meant to be lost, for something better.
I'm moving to Washington D.C, establish New Antium maybe? We might cross paths again...and good luck with Lyn.
William smiled as he replayed it before sending it to the New Manhattan Mayor Estate computer system. He then opened one up for Alex and his allies, including the Lake Federation.
Alex Scalatti, from the moment we met to when I'm leaving, we've been mortal enemies eh? Well you have no need to worry, I'm moving down to Washington D.C, probably for good. As for the Federation, if they keep on their turf, I'll keep on mine. Good luck to both of your armies. And Alex, at some point in time, you'll learn about staying calmer, as I have during the establishment of Antium.
If we cross paths again, I won't hesitate to eliminate your army and you shouldn't hesitate to eliminate mine. But until that time comes, you need not worry about me destroying your precious views that Pre-War America had, the same views that caused the Great War. I will offer Antium to the wastelands. And don't try taking any technology. We're moving it all to D.C. Any ambush and we overload the Plasma Lamp.
Goodbye to my enemies, all of you were worthy adversaries.
William again smiled before sending it to the Federation, titled "For Alex". He left the Council room as the Zodiac Tower was being rigged for an easy demolition. The rest of Antium that couldn't be taken, the lights, the food, and the buildings other than the tower would be kept intact, an offering for the Wasteland.
He watched the black Vertibird he called his own hit the cold air that blew through the Antium docks, or was that just a breeze from the other Vertibirds? In any case though, he entered with Sonia.
William personally requested a window be installed days before the move to watch New Manhattan for one last time. He laughed a bit before turning to Sonia. "It was fun, wouldn't you agree?"
She nodded, smiling as well. It was ironic too. Just a couple months ago, all of the Gauss Project was angry, crying, or at least somewhat emotional about the retreat. But now, everybody was expecting a new life. It was the second great exploration, the new colonization of a land many people under Antium's banner had never seen before.
Was it new, no, but it sure was exciting. And that was displayed by every man, woman, and child who was either boarding the Vertibirds, the APCs, or waiting for the long trip on the Brahmin caravans.
As the Vertibird took off, the skeletons of once great buildings, buildings that William swore would be the center of all the world, simply thinned out and then, vanished entirely. Every person, the 6000 people who lived in New Manhattan was just a pinprick. There were probably still a billion people still living around the world, all trying to fend for themselves, maybe even establishing government and yet still, there was no need for the Gauss Project to go so far.
Then a small flicker in the dim, shrouded skeletons of the ruins of Stanford, the detonation of the Zodiac Tower, the final resting place of Gauss Project in the New Manhattan area, forever.
And through it all, as William, Sonia, and everyone else under the banner of Antium, it was all worth it, despite the tears, frustrations, and the anxiety everyone felt. It was all worth it, just to get a glimpse of life outside the bunker, and now, a new land, Washington D.C.
OOC: Cheesy is it not?
