Johnathan Fairfield

After reading the LF proposal, John ripped it up. "General, go back to [censored] school, you can't write for [censored]."

After Meuix gave his long terms, John went back and discussed with his generals. After about three minutes, he came back without a paper. Meiux stepped infront of the securitron.

"We agree to your terms, but we have some slight problems. One, we already have enough food. We make so much food, we can't even give it away, so we burn it. Michigan was hardly hit during the war, so we have fresh water. Now, we could trade you food and water, but we want you to give us weapons. We are pushing into the slaver held areas of New York and the Midwest, and they are not going without a fight. Hell, the remainders from the Pitt made a new camp near here. We are openly at war with them, so we need guns and ammo."

OOC: To keep an eye on Mieux, it can be one of those things Mieux doesn't know about. I like the idea of Mieux being all seeing yet never seeing all.

Mieux scowled, though his facial expression wouldn't be seen. "I'm leary about weapons." Mieux paused, then there was silence, the screen replaced with 'Connection Lost'. After five minutes, Mieux's picture reflared. "I've given some consideration. While I don't have anything in terms of weapons, I DO have that bomber crew from the campaign, if you find yourself in a massive fight that you can't wind, send me a radio message, and I'll call them in to your location. Also, I have trade with another group a few hundred miles away, perhaps we can up trades, you bring mass produces, and we trade you their tools." Mieux's lifted, a note of pride as he brought up the discussion of Manhattan island. "As you know, I have been taking great pains to reclaim order on Manhattan Island, in turn, alot of unneeded buildings are demolished piece by piece, usually old half burned skyscraqers from before the War. That said, I can produce a great outgoing shipment of scrap and concrete supplies. Fair enough?"

In any event I don't know where you are, I still think that you are at the Chyrslus, Kong is still trying to find out the problem. Sutler is not going to be happy when you tell him what you've done. :P

Annette Marchal

The caravan wheels turned along the road. The Brahmin pulling the cart was quickly getting tired as the sun started to show.

"Hey, Annette, wanna go to one of the casinos back in Arcadia?" asked one of the guards, I don't recall his name

"Why should I? I don't know you!" I yelled at him. He shrugged and turned back to the road. The Caravan leader, Jackson, was leading the Brahmin with a rope. I turned back, and I saw a group of attackers.

"Attackers!" a guard yelled. The two guards and Jackson fired. I grabbed a M-14 that was in the back of the cart and fired. Jackson turned to me

"GO!" He yelled "Tell them the Lake Federation is attacking."

"But those aren't Lake Feds..."I said to him

"I KNOW!" He yelled back as we dove for cover behind a truck's trailer. "These are the shots that never were fired. This will go down in history as the Lake Federation attacking a caravan, not those bastards we call 'raiders'."

He paused as he leaned to the left, firing his AK-47 blankly. One of the guards was struck and killed. The last one dove behind a concrete wall.

"Give me that." He said, grabbing a bottle of Vodka. He stuffed a cloth down the bottle and pulled out a lighter

"FOR FREEDOM!" He screamed as he chucked the bottle. It smacked and men cried in agony, alas, Jackson and the other guard were shot. As I turned around, the raiders were running. The bodies of the fallen, couldn't even be identified. I walked up to them and fired into the bodies. I placed munitions from the cart around the bodies.

"Goodbye Federation." I said as I shot the munitions, I was struck in the arm and chest with shrapnel, I hit the ground, and passed out.

Johnathan Fairfield

John stepped back and talked with his generals for a minute. After a minute of deliberation, Johnathan left the huddle and approached the securitron.

"I agree to all the terms provided, and I would like to have an embassy on New Manhattan."

Imperial Commander Nick Sakin

"Imperial Commander, the Lake Federation has withdrawn after a discussion with a...Mr. Mieux. We're spying on the Federation now, so far, no casualties on either side."

Nick nodded as he walked along the catwalk, wearing only the Gladius armour with no helmet with his bodyguards, surveying the construction of the Fortress. It was going along pretty well. Sandbags were all placed along the windows, the recreation room was already finished, and his private chambers was outfitted with a monitor and radio, along with all the essentials.

He looked along the Fortress and raised an eyebrow. "How's the construction of the Fortress going?"

"Good sir, we just need turrets. We found a MASSIVE storage chamber three stories underground. We're using that as an armoury. As for the other two stories above the armoury, we have a training room and another room where we found ten automated Mr. Handy robots. They only have a flamethrower and a buzz saw as weapons so they're going to be used for Fortress maintenance. We also found a central mainframe that seemed to have been part of the Gauss Project above ground. We've activated it and it seems to be a war simulator."

Nick smiled, remembering the encounter with the Gauss Project caravans and the "civilian leader", then looked at one of the few monitors the soldiers were installing along the walls. It had surveillance footage from the working security cameras outside.

Then his second in command gave him a document. In it was a compiled list of everything the spies managed to find about the Lake Federation. And the next paper was another document, this time a "course of action" paper, obviously printed and created by the mainframe. At the end, the course of action was to gain allies and labeled the Federation as an immediate threat.

He sighed and then turned to three of the soldiers. "I want you to contact Alexander Scalatti about a proposed alliance against the Lake Federation. Keep this low and assassinate any and all Lake Federation spies or agents while delivering the message. I know he lost interest in the Federation. Make sure to contact any mercenary organization you come across as well."

I slowly crawled myself back to the base. By that time, the sun had set. I burst into the door of the HQ and demanded to see Dean. He came out in his robe

"WHAT?" He yelled

"Sir." I said "The Lake Federation attacked us, all but I were killed."

He slowly took the pipe out of his mouth.

"Get on the horn to Mieux Anderson. Looks like war has been declared."

Jacob Anderson

I ran to the phone

"Yes? Hello? Tell Mr. Mieux this. The Lake Federation has assaulted our supply caravan. We consider this a act of war. YES TELL HIM NOW!"

Mieux invited John Fairfield up to the penthouse as an act of newly formed peace, and offered him a seat across from him at his desk. He had just offered John a glass of scotch when his phone rang. "Hold on Mr. Fairfield." He lifted his finger to him in pause, then picked up the reciever, "Yes? Really? The Lake Federation attacked you? Funny, since all his forces are here in Arcadia, I have to wonder how that's possible." Mieux felt weird about the phone call, he couldn't see Fairfield being the type to go back on his treaties without cause. "Mr. Fairfield," Mieux said, his hand muffling the reciever, I think someones trying to instegate war." He lifted his hand from the reciever, "I believe this call is for you." A smile of wit on his face as he handed the reciever to John, his mind instantly thinking 'typical mercs, I should have them shot for trying to cause problems for me.'

I walked up to Jacob

"Here, sir." He handed me the phone, I grabbed it.

"Hello? If this is Fairfield? I'm going to tell you this, do not attack one more of our caravans, or so help me god, I'll plant bombs in each and every one of your houses, your barracks. Your men have the blood on their hands! Our men and women's blood! One more chance, Mr. Fairfield."

Mary Nyan

Mary listened carefully as the man offered her a deal. She liked the plan, but yet she didn't know those people at all. She thought about it for a while, ten finally came to a conclusion. It took her a little while to say it, too. The man seemed impatient, which forced herself to take longer. When she was done joking and was ready to respond, she cleared her throat.

"Seems nice. But I'll only be there today only, I can't imagine a whole lifetime living with you too,"

I turned to her, only now noticing her beauty.

"Well, that is a nifty cabin. Might be the cleanest one I'll be lucky to sleep in," she turned to the man, and waved goodbye to him as she she went into the barracks. When she entered, everyone was awake as the man said they would be. She found an empty bunk in there, a table full of men playing poker staring at her constantly. She sat at the edge of the bunk, kicking off her heels and looking up at the men. Some were back to splaying but the others glared at her. She walked over to them, and stretched in front of them.

"Hey, lady, you know how to play poker?" one of the men asked her. She shook her head silently and frowned.

"But I do know how to play twenty-one. Anyone heard of it?" she asked them. They all laughed, some scoffing.

"Blackjack? That's a woman's game!" they all laughed. She grimaced and walked back to her bunk. She sat there at the edge, looking at the rest of the mercenaries, who were peacefully listening to the radio. They was nothing but old-tymer music, which was ok with her. But her soul was early rock, the music she grew up on. She grabbed a radio on her nightstand and surfed the channels for any rock. She found some, surprisingly. There was static, though, which meant is was awfully far. Maybe in another country, she thought. Immediately after she put it on, everyone looked in her direction, covering their ears and screaming. A man lying in a bed next to her turned t her and said,

"They're stuck in the 50's. They won't accept anything else. Unless you want to get mauled, it might be wise to change it," he said. She turned off the radio and sighed.

"OKAY? SO... WHAT THE [censored] HAPPENED?" I screamed.

"The Lake Fed's apparently assaulted one of our caravans." Dean said

"Are...you...[censored]in...KIDDING ME?" I screamed at him

"Shhh. Anderson's on the phone." He said "Go get some rest."

I stormed out of the building. I walked back into the barracks. Men were gambling, smoking, drinking.

"Oh, Joey, looks like your hand is bad. Oh, Alan, thats a good hand." I said. The rest, other than Alan, folded.

"You idiot, Matt." One said

"Don't forget it." I said, they all laughed.

"Drunks..." I muttered. I walked to the center of the room. I loaded in one bullet into a magazine and fired it onto the ceiling.

"Gah [censored]!" One said.

"We have a contract. Mr. Mieux, once he gives us the order, wants us to wipe The Lake Federation from the face of the Empire Wasteland. I want you men in your bunks. NOW!"

Johnathan sighed, "Look, name one reason why I would order an attack on a measly pathetic caravan? I know for a fact, that I did not order that, or nobody in my staff ordered it either."

Alexander Scalatti

Alex groaned as he put some ice on his cheek. It was badly bruised from Fairfield's punch. Johnathan had always had a strong punch, even in the vault.

He reached to the top of his head, but realized that his brown matching fedora wasn't there. "[censored]." He reached into his briefcase that was sloppily laid next to the cot he was laying on. He pulled out a brown Homburg hat and placed it on his head. Not his favorite, but it would suffice.

Night had started to fall, and Mieux stood looking over Arcadia from his window as Fairfield spoke on the phone. Mieux grinned, not at Fairfield, he was grinning because he had offered the Lake Federations to stay the night and gamble while Fairfield came in the tower. Even from so high up, Mieux could see the streets crowded with little ants in the neon lights, the ants that were spending caps at the casinos. A sudden thought slipped into his head, 'I wonder where Alex is. No matter, he's likely in the street or something, if he wanted me, he'd find me, by my request I told him he'd have mayoral power over the day to day of New Manhattan.' His mind fell back into thoughts of Pre-War splendor as he saw the fireworks over the city. While John continued to banter at the merc on the phone, Mieux sipped his wine in joy, his economy was being fueled by the troops of a foreign region.

Alex adjusted his http://cdn.crushable.com/files/2009/10/amcqhat.jpg as the elevator speeded toward Meiux's penthouse. He wondered what he would say, considering that Meiux had just couped him out.

The elevator shuddered to a stop and the doors opened, revealing the office, my office. "Sorry for being late Meiux, but here I am," Alex said as he sat down at the guest chair.

The sounds of the LF soldiers gambling was thundering. "Damn, those soldiers appear to be having a good time eh?"

I slammed my fist down

"Well, for starters, your as paranoid as a teenage girl. Maybe your troops got bored and assaulted a caravan cause they felt like it?"

I head a gunshot from one of the barracks

"Get a guard in there." I whispered to Jacob.

Mieux, still phasing out the talking of John, turned slightly at Alex's arrival, his voice sounding like a man who's head had been in the clouds. "Hm? Oh, indeed, and it'll turn a very profitable revenue for me. Don't mind John, he's having trouble with some rabble I hired, this wasn't my fault this time." He stuck his hand in the cream white tuxedo jacket, digging in an inner briast pocket. "Here, these are yours now." He pulled out some light gold keys. "I managed to have some people find and properly bury Frank, these were his, and now they're yours. They are the keys to the mayoral manor of New Manhattan. Enjoy your new position Mr. Scalatti." He was looking down at the street, his face hidden from showing emotional sorrow. "Oh, and, Mr. Scalatti. Find a good painter to make a portrait of Frank Vercelotti. It's the least the poor fellow deserves. It also keeps a physical reminder of him in New Manhattan. If you want to stay for up here for a while, you're free to do so."
