OOC: I really don't feel up to posting, but I'll do it for Holy's sake.
Evander Jamison
Evander was about to answer the Don when his thoughts were intercepted by another presence. He felt someone in the room besides them two. The don looked past Evander at the assumed person.
"Oh, Sonia, please come in!"
Evander remembered Sonia, the gal who was with that Snowe guy. The Gauss Project guy. He'd seen her a few times before but never had the pleasure, or torment, to talk with or even meet her.
"How can I be of assistance?" he asked, motioning her in to take a seat, which wasn't actually there. He was obviously a ittle out of it from the whiskey. Evanderwas slightly more weathered, and it took more than a couple swigs to drowse him up.
"You might have met my old pal Evander before."
Some pals. . .you tried to kill me.
"Evander Jamison. Evander, this is Sonia Marx; Director Snowe's . . . girlfriend, I believe?"
Evander nodded.
"Fiance actually..." She said blushing. She glanced nervously at Evander then behind her at her robots before continuing.
"The Enclave's been contacted."
Evander grimaced at the mere utterance of that word, he despised them. He listened on for more specifics.
"William's thinking about making a third temporary alliance with them but wants your feedback. He's too busy to radio you though, what with the Federation war."
Evander was shocked. The Enclave being contacted was one thing, but in this case the Enclave was contacting them. They were here, in New Manhattan. Evander's heart skipped a beat. He could feel a sinking sensation in his chest, but he kept his composure. He wanted to tell the Don not to, but he simply remained quiet, testing Franks capability to see right from wrong, hoping he would make the right choice and decline anything related to them.
"Enclave." Frank said, rubbing his chin. The thought for a second silently before replying. "Tell the Director that they would make excellent partners to our cause."
Dammit! No! Evander silently screamed.
"It's high risk, high reward. They would want a piece of the action, and not just a small one. Hell, they might even end up taking the place over."
That's exactly the problem. Now I got three different corporations going against me. The Mafia, the Gauss Project, and now my old arch-enemies.
"However, they may help us in the short run. We should accept their help, but only for a while. Once the deals done, we're no longer allies, they take what we agreed to give and *leave*." he advised, stressing the last word. "Also, I would like my men to not be thought of as anything lower than pure, despite atleast half of them not being so."
The waitress had come back and poured some champagne for the three of him midway through his speech, and Evander had been staring aimlessly into it since then, contemplating weather he should snatch his pistol and shoot the Don then and there.
"I doubt Evander would like the sound of this, being ex-brotherhood and what not" Frank added, smiling to lighten the mood a bit before raising his glass in toast to the marriage of William and Sonia.
"I can't believe you accepted." Evander said through gnashed teeth, disgusted. The grabbed what was left of the whiskey bottle and took a long swig, completely ignoring the champagne.
"Um, I should get going." She said, then abruptly left. Now, if Evander was to shoot him then, he would have a clean escape.
"Gaaargh!" Evander couldn't hold it in any longer. He flung the now empty whiskey bottle at the wall, and it bust into tiny glass fragments.
"Gimme three. . . no, one good reason why you just did that." He said, jumping from his seat. He wanted answers. His eyes caught something in their peripheral, and when he looked he saw a good dozen, maybe more, Enclave soldiers in front of partially destroyed building. In front of the group of armored men Evander saw the obvious leader on a megaphone. This is exactly what he was talking about, chaos. Disregard for innocents. Trouble.
"Look outside, Frank. Is this who you want to be partner's with?"
