Sutler

Sutler watched Adams restrain his temper and did his best to restrain his own amusment, using Adams's ambiguous, homosixual admiration for Autumn was always his favourite way of pissing his second-in-command off; but anyway down to business, he hated unprofesionalism in others and was getting distracted himself. He took a final, blissful drag on his cigarette and stubbed it out amongst the others, he looked up at Adams.

"Your plan is acceptable, if we wish to integrate ourselves into the world above then, for the duration of the National Emergency, it would be wise to ally ourselves with the most-powerful organisations, ensuring of course we do not get embroideled in their conflicts, we all heard the howitzer fire afterall, the last thing I and of course I assume you want is our boys blown into the great there-after so some wasters can sleep safe at night or so that the current tin-pot dictator can rule."

Sutler got up and approached the map.

"Vault 109 and 110 are located somewhere within this mess, one definately contains a G.E.C.K, the other at least hundreds of still sealed, perfect humans, our numbers will be at Oil Rig levels, we shall never fear extinction again, plus we'll have a bunker perfectly suited to long-term survivability; should the need arise. The current bunker is located too far from the city to serve as our powerbase, plus the Vault will have water-purificatoin and food production facilities we can use to will the people over. A similar settlement existed in the West built around Vault 8, it was a control Vault but the society it created is not to dis-similar from what I believe you have in mind and what I at least for the time, have resigned myself too. They had a two-class system, 'servants' traded a lifetime of labour doing the various manual tasks such as agriculture in retrun for food, water, saftey & payment whilst the citizens from the Vault handled security and administration. This was the goal the old Cabinet was exploring after Autumn successfully persuaded the machine Eden to cancel the current Project. I believe the best way to gain initial control would be to control the flow of resources, pre-war this would be infomation of course but in today's 'elightened' times food and water are the commodities we must try and control; at the moment our hydroponics bearly enough to feed us, particularly us soldiers requiring a better diet, and taking any water out of our system is impossible."

OOC: After reading the first post I understand that the bunker is located outside of Manhattan, another mistake on my part.

Steve Jenkins

Alex turned to Steve, "Yup, this hellhole is a warzone. You see, many groups want control of the city, and they are willing to do anything to get it. And to make things worse for me, the leader of the group who controls the city hates me."

"Ah, alright," Steve replied. Suddenly Alex whirled to look at the roof of a building outside.

"Alex Scalatti! Drop your weapons and you will live! The other friends will also live, drop your weapons!"

Steve dropped his weapon.

"Get behind cover!" Alex yelled.

Steve raised his hands above his head, and promptly fainted from the pain that a bullet wound and two explosions make you feel.

Evander Jamison

Evander was standing, watching as Frank rambled on to the GP ass-hole, growing impatient, and antsy to head outside Noticing the ever so tempting pistol on the desk that he would have gladly wasted on him earlier, he grabbed it and placed it safely in between his belt and pants. Down below, the situation in front of what Evander supposed was Alex's casino was still unfolding, but nothing had happened yet from what Evander could see. Right then, Evander had the idea to talk to Alex in regards to Evander's new position. He hadn'e spoken to Alex in a long time either, and he did owe him a good kick in the balls for getting them into this mess. Thankfully, Evander wasn't prone to fits of rage, and usually understood people's motives, so Alex would be spared for later, but if he could get Alex and Issac, his Brotherhood friend in the same room, the city needn't worry.

"...Also, what exactly should I have him do right now?" Evander heard the Don say. He smirked, reminiscing the days he used to take orders from superiors. Then, from outside the window he saw a great explosion that came from what looked like the infrastructure of the building, sending a few people plummeting through the air and skidding through the ground. At this he almost on impulse left the room to find out what was going on, but he figured he should show Frank exactly what the Enclave always seemed to bring with them, destruction.

"Frank! Get off the phone, and bring the shotty."

William Snowe

"Well get this; Evander Jamison. The store owner from a few weeks ago. He wants in!" Frank exclaimed. "He's gonna be taking charge of the city folks, so we won't have to worry about them. He has issues with the Enclave, but nothing a little mingling can't fix." he said, chuckling. "Just wanted to let you know. Also, what exactly should I have him do right now?" he asked.

William was both confused and wondered whether or not to accept this former enemy's help. He kept looking through the window into the Securitron Vault, continuing to wish that the second Plasma Lamp was created fast to harness this power that laid dormant in the massive Robco facility for 200 years.

"I know Evander has connections to people who can help my cause. Tell Evander to send them to me."

Then the Enclave issue hit him. The Enclave would be a powerful ally sure, but would they be worth it? William of course knew about the Enclave from reports from D.C, Pennsylvania, and even as far west as the Poseidon Oil Rig and Las Vegas but all reports suggest that they usually betray or at least go about their own way. He had to decide whether or not to take that risk.

William turned to one of his lieutenants. "Do a 30 mile scan on any possible locations of Vault 110 and Vault 109. We're getting there before the Enclave."

Don Frank Vercelotti

"I know Evander has connections to people who can help my cause. Tell Evander to send them to me." the Director answered.

"Alright. Although I would-" Frank began to respond when he was cut off by the sound of Evander.

"Frank! Get off the phone, and bring the shotty." he said.

"Gotta run" Frank said over the line, before slamming the phone back onto it's base, and picking up his shotgun. "This better be good, Jamison.." Frank muttered, cocking his weapon.

OOC: Think I might have gotten confused with your last post, Enclave, so I hope this makes sense, which looking back, I'm not sure if it does.

Adams slouched in his chair, chin in his hand, as the president retold the story of Vault City. Is this guy serious? The colonel sighed, shaking his head.

“With all due respect, Mr. President, the idea of working with the Vault citizens is preposterous,” Jack said, sitting up. “They have no reason to accept our aid, and it’d be a waste of the pure to just run in there guns blazing. You’re thinking too far ahead; we need to take New Manhattan first.” There was something Sutler mentioned, something of extreme importance – the GECK.

“Look, the way I see it, we’ve got two options. One, we can spare some of our own supplies for the residents of North Wall, gaining us support and showing our strength. The alternative? We find the GECK.”

“I hate to get too excited, but the truth is, if we have the GECK, New Manhattan will be in the palm of our hands – ripe for the taking. Our men, however, they... they will die in the process. We both know it. We’re not the only organisation privy to its location,” Adams tone took a solemn turn; this was serious business.”

“Capturing the hearts of the people will give the same result. It’ll be slower, but much less dangerous. If you can spare the manpower and resources, that is, Mr. President – that decision, well, it’s down to you.”

“It’s a tactical choice, no doubt, but surely a man of such great strategic prowess would make the right decision,” Adams said with a snarky grin. He wouldn’t admit it, but the good colonel was, in actuality, not the best at thinking on his feet. Not that it mattered right now; the chain of command gave the president the final say.

“You more than anyone knows the rules; it’s down to you. But we can’t afford to piss around here; time is of the essence.”

The colonel waited, tapping his feet on the floor and his fingers on the table. He wanted action – and he wanted it now.

Sutler

Sutler listened to Adams's thoughts.

"It's my job to think of the long term Colonel, at this base there are currently 53 United States Citizens, the very reason I brought us here was because of that Vault, we lack the genetic diversity to continue civilisation and unless we bring the boys from Chicago over it will remain so. I also see no reason why the residents of the Vault would not accept amnesty with the U.S. Government and we could always take over with no risk to either party, Vault Security is little more than a police force, police batons and pistols will not dent our armour should the worst happen; I am concerned that the integrity of the Vault will be compremised by someone else, these poeple are some of our last hope. However, I do understand your desire to concern ourselves with the short term for now, the GECK is very high on our agenda but I think how we use it may be contested; I seek to build a new city for us, you seem to want to create a farm to win the locals over, we only have potentially ONE GECK and what we use it for is not something we should discus yet, I am very firm on this."

He paused and inhaled.

"Your current short term plans for 'aiding' the residents of North Wall against the mutant horde is an excellent idea, if we seek to win the people over I believe we can spare the resourses and manpower to aid them, hell I might even send our Verti in it you can 100% garuntee it's saftey. The extreme always makes an impression... you may persue any tactic you feel will work in this new endevour provided it goes through me first. In the mean while, if you read the memo I sent you it appears whatever form of government which exists is leaderless, this is the perfect chance for us to seize territorial control, I am planning for the occupation by Enclave forces of a currently existing settlement to use as our Manhattan field headquarters; despite your poorly hidden disapproval, the Vault 8 method may be considered as something I will impliment."

Sutler got to his feet.

"Sign yourself out some portable field structures and ammo and get the men together Colonel, your going to North Wall. Here."

Sutler passed the bottle of whiskey to Adams.

"Spare the mutie bastards no mercy."

OOC: I apologise if I confused you in someway, feel free to continue our conversation and ask and please call me Adam.

For the first time in long time, Adams grinned upon receiving his orders. Everything else the president said was pushed to the back of Jack’s mind – his only focus now on the mutants’ extermination. Conversation time was over.

He stood, snatched the whiskey bottle from Sutler’s hand and took one last long swig. Ahh, that’s the good stuff.

"Spare the mutie bastards no mercy.”

Adams chuckled. “Fear not, Mr. President; failure is not a word in my dictionary,” he said with a wink.

The Colonel strode over to the large console at the back of the room. Clearing his throat, he proceeded to address the bunker over the PA system. “Attention all Enclave personnel – this is Colonel Adams. Autumn Squad, you are to assemble at the Vertibird Depot with a crate of supplies and portable field structures. I repeat: supply crate and portable field structures. Please, do not tarry. That is all.” Adams released the button, and turned to the president.

“Get your glass ready; this’ll be a day to remember.” After a reluctant salute, the colonel finally left.

Salutes and “For the Enclave”s were sent Adams’s way as he paced through the bunker’s corridors. No acknowledgement was sent back; he was a man on a mission. The mission to save America. Every battle won was a step towards glory.

The Vertibird Station dominated the bunker; it’s towering ceiling a sign as to high the Enclave would soar. Adams inspected the six power armoured warriors standing before him – Autumn Squad: a team fiercely loyal to the colonel, known (and even feared amongst some younger troopers) for their size and heavy weapons skill. Mercy – they spit at the thought.

“Men, today we will show the world above the might of the Enclave. The might of America. Our enemies will tremble at our strength; the strong will unite under our valour. It’s time the filth littering this once great city be cleansed for good!” The crowd roared. “Lead the way, men.”

Autumn Squad, followed by Adams, charged up the vertibird steps. Once everyone had found their seat, the colonel turned to the team leader, Captain Butler.
“I trust everything is in place?”

“Yes, sir. We will not fail,” Butler said. His enthusiastic attitude always pleased Adams.

“Good answer.” Jack addressed the rest of the squad. “Hold on tight; it’s gonna be a bumpy ride.” He turned back round – today we rise.

OOC: I hope it's okay that I gave Butler captain rank, Adam. You seem to like Lieutenant Stracker, so maybe you want him to be the highest ranking officer apart from myself?

OOC: It's fine mate, great to finally see the Enclave gearing up for war at last! Stracker and Leiutenant just came to mind, really what with the Enclave's small size ranks are meaningless, a full US Colonel today is supposed to command a brigade of between 3 and 5 thousand!

Alexander Scalatti

"Sir, those [censored]s are retreatin' somewhere." Paul whispered into Alex's ear. He spoke in a heavy British accent.
Alex took out his binoculars. "You're right. Ring-a-ding!"

Alex slowly walked out into the plaza to make sure. No snipers or gun fire. [i][Guess thats it./i] "Francis, and Paul! Its safe!"

They ran out to Alex. "I am going to head to my penthouse and talk to my wife..erm...go to the bunker. I changed the passcode to 7980."
"Alright." Francis said as he shook Alex's hand.

Alex began to jog toward his penthouse..it was not very far away, maybe a two minute jog. Alex unlocked his apartment tower's door, walked up the stairs, and was about to enter his penthouse.

OOC: Well, Adams's orders are set: kill the muties attacking North Wall. I think Sutler's working something out with the Vaults, but the colonel has a way of pulling him back to the present. It's not really my choice, though, TBH.

Also, Adams would have only heard Alex's name in passing; he's spent most of his time underground.

OOC: My mistake :D

Alexander Scalatti

Before entering the penthouse, Alex suddenly remembered a wolf giving him a note. He opened up the note.

Hello possible city authority. It has come to my attention that there is a major power struggle in the city, and that someone of my abilities would be wise to pick a side. After much deliberation, I have decided that we could be of use to each other. Meet me at CAPone at your leisure if you wish to discuss this further. The wolf that brought you this message will stay with you, for the purpose of returning a note. If you do not return a note within 2 hours, she will assume that you feel no need for passing notes and return to me.

P.S. - The wolf's name is Daisy, and she loves to be scratched behind her ears. Oh, and she only bites if you give her reason to.

Oh! Thats why that this wolf is following me! Alex took out some scrap paper and wrote a small note.

I would be glad to meet you. When you see me, say "Vault 109," and I will know that you are my contact.

Alex scratched the woof behind the ears and let it on its way.

William

The lieutenant ran a massive thermal energy check to detect any underground heat levels that would be transmitted by the nuclear generator. The machine hummed before two white blips came up, each one on the other side of town. William paused for a bit. "Run a thorough thermal check to see which one has people living in it."

Again, the machine hummed along before one of the white blips disappeared, leaving only one left. Using some Securitron footage and the Robco database, there was no doubt it was the same vault Alex was talking about. Vault 09. William left the war room and went back to his office.

After what seemed like forever, one of William's generals entered his office with his body armor in one hand and a case for his Gauss Rifle in the other. The general politely bowed and presented the armor and weapon to William. He nodded and proceeded to suit up, preparing for the attack on Vault 109. After suiting up, he left the bunker and into the APC, escorted by a total of maybe 200 units. Both Securitrons and the now huge army that the Gauss Project controlled.

"I want this quick and clean. Nobody fires a shot unless I say the order..."

The Zodiac V-A Squad, William's squad, nodded and relaxed in the comfortable and safe APC interior. William watched the built in radar as the entire garrison of troops got closer and closer to Vault 109. It would be spectacular.

Lyn Grave

Lyn watched at the wolf returned with the bottle. The wolf sat down and dropped the bottle into Lyn's open hand. Lyn scratched the wolf behind the ears, then opened up the bottle to check the return note.

I would be glad to meet you. When you see me, say "Vault 109," and I will know that you are my contact. That settles it then.

Lyn put the note and bottle back to her pocket, where she got them, and walked to the CAPone. Might as well be early, I've got nowhere else to be. Upon entering the CAPone, she picked a somewhat secluded spot and sat down.

OOC: @Darkzeker, its actually Vault 109 that my character is from. Lets say that the vault is locked with a special passcode that only people from that vault know. So even if the Enclave gets there first, you will both need me to open up the vault.

@ Ramendia- My char will most likely get kidnapped during the meeting.

Alexander Scalatti

Alex opened the penthouse, hugged Ann, and took a little cat nap. Alex woke up about an hour later, and got ready for the meeting. Erm, running late!

Alex got on pitch black suit with a white shirt and with a red tie. He carried a briefcase and unlocked the door. As he was about to leave, Ann questioned him.

"Where you going? You look sharp."
"A meeting, thats all."

Ann hugged Alex and set him on his way. It took Alex about three minutes to get to the casino. As he entered, he looked around, waiting for someone to say the passcode.

Lyn Grave

Lyn noticed the door to the casino open, and in walked her contact. Took his sweet time. Lyn chuckled a bit to herself before getting up from her seat and approaching the man.

"My my, aren't you looking sharp, Mr. Vault 109. Hope you don't mind the addition to the password, I thought actually saying something would be a bit more interesting. So, shall we have a seat?" She said as she gestured to the spot she was previously occupying. She returned to her chair and sat down, with the wolves sitting on each side of her. "Should we get some food, or something to drink? Or would you rather get down to business?"

Sutler

Sutler's eyes followed Adams out of the room, once the automatic door had slid shut behind him he crossed the room to the same large console; he pushed the PA button and bent closer to the microphone.

"Attention all Enclave personnel, this is Acting President Sutler. As you may have gathered from the good Colonel's previous announcement, we are mobilizing for action once again! I am increasing our current Defensive Readiness Condition to DEFCON 4, repeat we are now at DEFCON 4. Sigma squad is to proceed immediately to the Vertibird Hanger and wait for my pre-mission brief, Adams hold that bird. Epsilon and Omicron squad are to report to Leiutenant Stracker and plan new patrol routes through the surrounding area. All command room personnel are to return to their posts and await my return for further instructions. Long live the Enclave and long live the United States of America."

Sutler released the PA button and marched out of the command room as personnel began to filter in, he return every salute he received as he proceeded towards the hanger. Sigma squad stood to attention in the hanger, the remains of an elite squad from the defense of Adams Airforce Base they were aboard the last Vertibird to escape along with Sutler, they were shot down over D.C. by Brotherhood Telsa Cannon fire and fought along side Sutler as they raided the Galaxy News Radio building; once inside they murdered the Brotherhood stationed there and executed Three-Dog for his anti-Enclave propaganda whilst Sutler adjusted the radio to a U.S. Channel and communicated to the scattered remnants and organised the regrouping effort.

Sutler banged on the side of the Vertibird.

"Sorry to interupt what I am sure was an inspring speech Adams but Sigma Squad requires dropping off in Evergreen on your way to North Wall."

He turned to Sigma Leader.

"Simga, in the local wasteland den of vice is a casino by the name of CAPone. The owner of this casino is a United States citizen from one of the Manhattan Vaults, presumably Vault 109 as 110 has not been opened to my knowledge, you are to place this individual under arrest and escort him back here for questioning by ANY means necassary, please remember that this man is a U.S. citizen so do not use too many of the 'usual' methods. That is all."

Sutler saluted and watched Simga file into the Vertibird.

"When you're ready Adams, do us proud."

Sutler saluted Adams.

He took a small chair from the wall and placed it at the otherside of the desk. Alex sat down at his chair, took otu a cigar, and started to smoke.

Alex took a puff of the cigar. "Anyone who goes through so much trouble to find me must have some great skill..so..what would you like to talk about?" Alex asked as he tilted his fedora.

OOC: Great post, Adam. I assume you’re going to be controlling our forces in Evergreen?

Adams’s concentration was broken by a loud banging on the vertibird door. Standing outside was Enclave Squad Sigma. The colonel’s gaze turned away from the squad as quickly as it faced them; he cared little for their accolades, for the truth was, they failed. Their incompetence destroyed Adams Air Force Base and the DC Campaign along with it. They had one simple goal – kill a vault dweller; they didn’t. The result: disaster.

They piled into the vertibird, leaving little room to breathe. Their stride carried a heavy sense of pride. Frauds!
The president addressed his colonel, “When you’re ready, Adams. Do us proud.”

“Always, Mr President.” He returned a strong salute, before slamming the door shut tight.

The colonel fidgeted as the vertibird rose from the platform – he could hear the miniguns of righteousness cleansing the evil; he could hear the mutants tumbling to the ground; he could hear their final cries. The insects plaguing the land would be crushed under the Enclave’s boot of justice.

The vertibird finally revealed itself to the outside world, as it swooped across the Empire Wasteland. The towering structures of New Manhattan’s skyline loomed in the distance, dominating the land. It was a broken beauty, soon to be repaired.

Excitement rippled through Adams’ veins, yet he couldn’t oust a certain thought from his mind. Is there really room on this earth for a pure race? The Enclave’s numbers dwindle day by day, and it seems the many of the vault citizens across the state have gone the way of the dodo. The colonel let out a hefty sigh. The people… they’ve survived. They’ve proved competence, will, and dare I say it, strength. All characteristics of good men, worthy of glory. America needs them, just as much as they need America to thrive. But what can be said about — Adams’ thoughts were interrupted.

“Sir, Evergreen lies straight ahead, less than a click from our current location,” said the pilot.

“Oh, err, good. Good work.” Adams turned to Squad Sigma. “All right, men, prepare for landing.”

The vertibird was welcomed by cheap, glittering lights and a few shady looking men sporting fedoras. This was about as good as it got in New Manhattan. Still, Adams couldn’t help but admire their efforts.

The squad stormed out of the vertibird, all except the leader, who Adams promptly span round to face him.

“I cannot stress enough the importance of this mission. Do not fail, not again.” The colonel’s stern gaze penetrated the soldier’s armour, right down into his soul – his signature look. The squad leader simply nodded, before being pushed out to the rest of his men. Adams gave one more salute as the vertibird took off once again.

The city of New Manhattan itself wasn’t huge, so the journey to North Wall from Evergreen was reasonably short, made shorter by the vertibird. Adams looked down at the people below, as they stared awestruck at the Enclave’s splendour as it soared through the sky. He grinned.

“Colonel Adams, we’ve arrived,” the pilot noted.

“Excellent. Remain here – this shouldn’t take long.”

The stench assaulted Adams’s nostrils as he exposed himself to North Wall. Clenching his nose, he attempted to fight of the scent. Dammit, gonna have to get used to this.
He and his men approached the village. It embodied poverty: the ground was muddy, the grass infertile, the people dirty, and the houses wobbled in the slight breeze. Adams began to question his earlier thoughts.

The villagers trembled in the presence of the Enclave; some even ran, though most just stared, mouths agape. Exactly the reaction Adams was aiming for. He smiled, almost gently, providing a strong juxtaposition to the scene.

The crowed grow larger and larger, and by the time Adams reached the gate, he had attracted everyone in town. Perfect.

Today, America takes a stand.

Alexander Scalatti

Alex heard the faint noise of a helicopter. ItI grew louder and louder until it apexed at Central Square. It grew dim, until it just kind of stayed at the same volume. "Excuse me for a minute."

Alex went into a back room and turned on his HAM radio. "Anybody? What the [censored] was that?"
"Oh hey Alex, this is caravan 150 in the market place...erm...that appeared to be a vertibird."
"What the [censored]? A vertibird? Oh hell."
"Alex, its me Vlad, it landed in North Wall, shall I go in?"
"No, you'll get mugged on the spot."
"I am with a dozen mercs here."
"Alright, I will meet you there soon."

Alex turned off the HAM radio and walked over and sat down at his desk. "Sorry, A..slight...complication has arisen. We will have to end this meeting very quickly i'm afraid."

OOC: Is one of the men on that vertibird going to kidnap me from CAPone?
