Nobody bought it as nobody saw it worth to pay 10$ for 4 maps. So, you recommend what we do anyway - which in return CAUSES that there are no DLC-servers. :P

In other words:

It's not
There are no servers so nobody bought it.

It's
Nobody bought it so there are no servers.

There are servers. I've played on them. Just not that many players.

The fact that you can't use PayPal to pay for the DLC also hurts. And that it's not on sale on Steam, etc.

And the fact that it's 4 maps that were cut from release and held back to sell later as DLC. Or the fact that it's a paltry 4 maps for $10. Or the fact that no one wants to spend any more money on this clunker because it's a haxxor-infested mess.

I want to thank the fools who bought DLCs and ultimately funded the development of mod tools and dx11 patch

yes well... i'm not sure if I should buy it or not...
10$ for 4 maps is absolutely thievery but then again, that 10$ could directly motivate Crytek to prioritise PC over ****.
The PC version of crysis 2 still has serious issues but then again, we're looking at them being fixed.
hmmm
to buy or not to buy... that is the question

"absolutely thievery"

You must be pretty damn poor. It's a nominal fee that is almost standardized by all companies making DLCs. Bethesda games, CoD games, WoW exp. etc etc... Find a GREAT game that doesn't require money to pay its employees. I doubt EA will be behind it.

Sure, mass multiplayer games have been using the formula for some time. The problem occurs when a company like EA releases a map pack 60 days after original release; in other retail venues that means you would get a price break or a free upgrade, since the map pack release so soon to first release. Had EA revealed their plans, smart buyers would have waited the 60 days, bought Crysis 2 at a discount on Amazon and perhaps purchased the map pack for the same overall cost.

But the problem is not just the release timing of the Map Pack; it is the greed of executives that released a problem riddled game, that should have been the best game ever.

EA has other titles; buyer beware. EA design and production is outpaced by marketing, which is outpaced by executive strategy.

The best strategy now is the just give the DLC out for free, and regain buyer confidence. EA has to many good Titles at stake the jeopardize. DLC for FREE.

Yeah and the monthly fee with WoW pays for the servers, admins, plus extra content that comes down the pipe. Have you ever played WoW? Every new content patch is MONTHS worth of content to go through. These 4 maps being sold as DLC were originally in the game, but Crytek pulled them out of the release copy to try to skim more money off of their PC fanbase.

Why else do you think the Cryengine 3 Editor was delayed until AFTER the DLC maps came out? They knew once we could get hundreds of player made maps for free we would never even think of buying their maps.
