New mods since this summer?

Post » Thu Sep 02, 2010 1:26 am

Hello guys.
It has been a few months since I last played Oblivion and I plan to get a new fresh install.
I already read the thread about the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1135603-small-mods-that-you-would-recommend-to-newb/ and it made me download some new good mods.
Are new worthwile mods relased since July? Can you link me them? (I already downloaded "Class Advantages" and "Mudwater").

Another question.
I was wondering if there are news about Unnecessary Violence 2. I didn't notice any update when I came back today. Just courious.

Thanks in advance.

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=31773 was released. I've picked up development of Imperial Furniture and Oblivion XP (see my sig). I actually contacted Hex about UV/UV 2 and I haven't heard anything. There's been a few others, that I'm sure someone will pass along. :)

Nehrim? Or was that out before then? The days just blend into one long mush for me...

Ah! I can do a bit of self promotion (I have no shame :P), because I just remembered that I released Cava Obscura and Enhanced Seasons recently (links in sig)! Silly me, forgetting about my own mods...

nGCD v2.0 was recent too, and The Forgotten Realm (quest mod), and I think there was a new UL, and Return Of Shadows (another quest mod), and Immersive Interiors. I think that's all I can remember. Oh, and the TES Alliance Halloween mod.

It's only http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/search.php?name=&scid=20&author=&mname=&desc=&size1=&size2=&downloads1=&downloads2=&udate1_day=1&udate1_month=7&udate1_year=2010&udate2_day=7&udate2_month=11&udate2_year=2010&ldate1_day=0&ldate1_month=0&ldate1_year=0&ldate2_day=0&ldate2_month=0&ldate2_year=0&endorsemants=&images=&readme=&advltonly=&page=1&orderby=name&order=ASC... And starting with the most downloaded ones you'll probably see everything that people are going to recommended in this topic in the first 10-20 pages or so.

I knew about Nehrim, but I'm not interested in total converions (or am I confusing with something else?).
A new nGCD is always a good thing (added :user: ).
You forgot to mention that there is an All Natural update (if it came before July, I missed it :D )
I don't mind if you are self promoting yourself as long as you do good mods. You have one more download at Enhanced Seasons.
The Forgotten Realm looks promising, but it conflicts with Phitt's Mudwater. I can give both a try in two differents games I think. And i like the look of Return of Shadows.
Shame I finished so few quest mods :( (I have yet to try HOD, TOTF and GTA)
Maybe it is because of my continuous search for new mods xD

Now a question about Immersive Interiors: Does this create weirdness in conjunction with Open Cities Reborn? (Like seeing the Vanilla exteriors when indoors)

Keep up the amazing work with your mods, wrinklyninja :foodndrink:

Thanks for all the mods. Keep replying guys :)

EDIT

Oh, so there was, 1.0 came out in September. 1.1 should be out within a week too. Regarding II, yes, you will see vanilla exteriors when indoors. Whether that bothers you or not is something you'll have to find out for yourself, some people seem to not be bothered, while others find it really jarring.

I don't think I'll be bothered by this, it is a great mod, no matter this weirdness.
Your signature is sort of a goldmine for environment mods :)

I think I'll wait to install again when the new All Natural will come out. I also noticed a new leveled list mod from John 123. It looks promising, but I read that for now it is not compatible with OOO, so I'll wait the update (I love OOO :ooo: ). This will be a good replacement of Armamentarium.

Heh, glad to hear that :)
Hopefully I'll make an OCR version in the future, but this would be after the vanilla versions and perhaps the BC versions are released, so might be quite a bit away. If you don't mind a bit of inconsistency then it will still work as designed :)

A new nGCD is always a good thing (added :user: ).

If you grab that, be aware that a couple of the shipping defaults have turned out to be undesirable. Summary: set LevelCanDecrease to 1 in nGCD.ini, and LevelFactor to 0.75 in nGCDCalc.ini.

For what it's worth, there are also significant new revisions to Birthsigns Expanded and TRAP.

I usually play with RBP, but TRAP looks lighter. I'll try it in conjunction with your Birtsign Expanded mod.
So with the new nGCD the level is not an achievement but a measure of your power, if I have a malus in my skills, my level can decrease. I like it. As soon as I end in downloading and set up a first rough configuration, I'll read the readme carefully. But I like the preview.

Thank you all for the replies so far :)

There have also been updates to some of the utilities. OBSE is now up to version 19. BOSS now has a nice masterlist update feature and user rules, which allow you to customize the load order. Wrye Bash ran into a bit of trouble, but 290 isn't bad and 291 should be out shortly. The threads for these get so many posts you should be able to find them within the first page or two in this forum.

TheNiceOne has released some new mods and has updates to several of his mods. Arthmoor has taken over development of TIE and I think he just released a new version.

Thanks for this nice update.
I already have OBSE 19, I knew about the TIE project being developed by Arthmoor, but the other things are new to me.
I'll check TheNiceOne's updates and the new versions of BOSS and Wrye Bash

Rather than start a new thread I thought I could just re ask the the following question.

I took a break from Oblivion to work on some other stuff thinking that when I got back all those Wipz threads I drooled over would be Relz threads when I got back. However I can't find anything on Unnecessary Violence II.

As I said in my first post, I contacted Hex about UV 2 and haven't heard anything. I think he's left the modding scene. Now Deadly Reflex 6 just got released in beta...

I take six-month breaks with some frequency, and I'm not the only one. Don't lose hope just yet. :)

I remember reading in his posts about that, but I got the impression that the surgery had already happened and that it would be slowing him down until healed. Bummer. Well then I'll just wait untill he's better.

I once tried to mod using voice commands and it did'nt work out so well, so I won't suggest that.

It had just seemed to be quite a while, but maybe not - my sense of time is really screwed up these days. Hopefully he'll be back and we can work on getting Oblivion XP compatible with UV or UV 2 :)

If you want to be a bad guy now that you're back, try my http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34671 mod. Be a highwayman and rob travelers, raid a town with your marauder companions, join a conjurer coven and ask them what their favorite Daedra are, make any NPC fort or ruin your home, be the envy of your necromancer pals by hanging out with a small group of undead companions, ride a stolen horse, avoid corrupt guards who want money to keep quiet of your deeds. It's fun stuff and I am working on updating it to include new stuff.

His last post here said that he was done recovering from RSI and was going to spend the weekend with his family but then he would just need a couple of days to finalize a couple things and write a manual and then UVII would be released. He figured he's be able to do that "next week".

Of course, that post was 3 months ago.

I think there was also talk about how he gave all the code to another modder in case he was unable to return. While I do want to play the mod, I would rather have him come back safe and healthy and release it himself.

Return to IV - Oblivion
