New to Morrowind; looking for mods

Post » Tue Oct 23, 2012 3:26 am

I started played Elder Scrolls with Oblivion, and moved on to Skyrim when that came out last year. I bought Morrowind at a Steam sale, and tried playing it, but quickly lost interest in the Vanilla version. I'm thinking some mods would probably enhance playability, and I've found a couple of lists of mods that are a good starting point. However, one of the things I'm specifically looking for is a mod that indicates item ownership (eg if an item is considered 'owned' or 'stolen' once picked up), similar to either Oblivion or Skyrim, if someone has a good recommendation for that? Also, does BOSS work with Morrowind Mods, or is there a similar program that sorts load orders if it doesn't?

I, too, am playing Morrowind over Steam. :) My Steam ID is in my signature, you should add me!

Anyways, some crucial mods are Better Bodies, Better Heads, and the Code Patch.

There are more mods that add companions, houses, ect.

The item ownership mod seems to only work if you have MGE installed, which only works on more powerful computers.

Morrowind overhaul mod v3
Sift striders, gondaliers, and boats. These 3 give you the option of actually watching these 3 actually travel to their place, instead of doing a fast travel.
Delayed brotherhood or murderous dreams
Traveling merchants
I cant think of it buy theres a mod that give npcs schedules and shopkeepers actually close at night etc etc.
After uve beaten the game, tamriel rebuilt and great house dagoth and also great dwermer ruins, make sure u get the patch for it to be conpatible with great house dagoth.

Also mlox, basically BOSS for morrowind. Helps out alot when getting new mods.

Did you see the http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1305729-mod-recommendations-for-new-players/ thread? It's really rather good.

That shouldn't be a problem, as my gaming rig is less than a year old (got it to run Skyrim last Xmas) What's the name of the item ownership mod? I searched a couple of sites using keywords like that (stolen, item, ownership, etc.) but didn't turn anything up.

Ah, thanks! Will definitely look into that one.

I did. Haven't finished making my way through it yet, there's a lot of info there. Definitely have it bookmarked though!
