Post » Thu Dec 01, 2011 4:00 am

heya fellas, im new to Morrowind modding, having just come over from the console. i already have the expansions and MGE installed, as well as the official plugins but I have a few questions for the set-up though
1. is there a load order fixing utility like Oblivion's BOSS?
2. Is there a tool like oblivion's wrye bash?
3. is there a mod installing tool like ObMM?
4. What is a good body replacer to make the characters look better? (No advlt content please)
5. What are some good new lands mods?
6. What are some good armour/weapons mods? (again no advlt content please)

thx

1. Mlox can scan for errors, but Morrowind's load order process is a whole lot simpler and less of a bother than the Oblivion engine's.
2. Wrye Mash.
3. No real need for one here. There are a few (Wrye Mash for example) that can install mods, but you can do it by hand pretty quickly most of the time.
4. Better Bodies is the body replacer. We're lucky enough to have a standard here, so you don't have to worry about clothes being incompatible. Grab BB (it comes in nvde and glued-on-undergarments versions) and you're good. You should get Better Clothes along with it, and Westly's head replacer.
5. Some say Tamriel Rebuilt is good. There are about 75 million land mods. Check out http://www.mwmythicmods.com for a few good mod lists. Not all of them are up-to-date, but they cover most of hte major ones.
6. Better Armor. There are a few single-armor ones (for glass and daedric, IIRC), plus someone made a series for most of the armors.

You'll also need the code patch and unofficial patch, and may want to look into MGE.

Most of your questions have been answered, but...
Mod Recommendations and Info for New Players: (lots of helpful links & info for you)
http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1060141-mod-recommendations-for-new-players/page__p__15392814__fromsearch__1&#entry15392814

Some of my favourite landmasses are (all have quests):
Annastia
Havish
Wizards' Islands
White Wolf of Lokken

Large Quest mods:
Illuminated Order
Scourge of the Lich Father part 1-2
Suran Underworld
Apostates to Oblivion: Beyond the Realms of Death
The Sable Dragon

Armor/Weapon: (a few of my fav)
Art Of War Museum
Weapons of Tamriel
Alakazar's Lamp
Netch Adamantium Armor
Void Gear
Carnithus' Armamentarium Complete

all can be found on PES, or a quick Google.
I suggest starting slow as to not get overwhelmed, but have fun!

check out westlys stuff. most of his armor and race mods are non-advlt. his races are mostly in nvde and non-nvde versions and his armor mods are very good and not too-much-reveiling, being more than just an iron bikini and coming for male and female. you find his stuff via author search on pes :)

If you like knight's type of armor/weapons checkout The Ultimate Knight Shop. Its a classic old mod.

If you always play a male character and don't want to bother with the female armor offered by this mod try the addon that eliminates the female stuff.
