New Mystery Pics Thread #5

Post » Mon Apr 19, 2010 12:45 pm

The appearance of a new Herma Mora daedra requires that Herma Mora play an important part in the game, which we don't know he does. There is a minor reference to him in Nordic lore, but its I think its quite unlikely that he will play a part in the story or culture. I also don't really see the lobster-ness, just looks like regular fantasy armor spikiness to me

After looking at the zoomed-in, i noticed the crab claws on the face. Hmm, maybe your onto something. And the multiply eye sockets and helmet shape does look daedric.

Actually, if you remmeber in Oblivion: All of the spikes in the realm of oblivion, on the armors and architecture of daedra, had red tips. like here http://images.wikia.com/skyrim/images/3/38/Dremora.jpg
http://gamers-ground.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/Oblivion-Gate.jpg

and then if you look closely at the zoomed in spikes of the armor on pic1, http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8613775/Skyrim/Secret%20Thumbs/thumb1_720p.jpg , you will see the same red at the end of the spikes.

Indeed, I hadn't noticed the red accents on the armor. Another detail I hadn't noticed are the green eyes. Thanks for that!

Edit: To Lady Nerevar there are lobster/crab claws at the base of the helm as i mentioned a few posts earlier. Also comparing the armor's design to http://a.rgbimg.com/cache1n925A/users/k/kr/krayker/300/2dkzmYC.jpg puts really makes the shell inspiration show imo.

Looks like a putrid cross-bred undead orc-elf.

I'm with the new Hermaeus Mora speculation, I mean it does make sense that one of his daedra are in Skyrim since he tried to turn the Nords into Aldmer. Go team! :D

Yea, kinda, but it could also just as easily be a design choice. The claws are the only thing that really references a lobster, the other spikes and plates don't look too different from your average evil spiky armor design imo.

I could swear I've seen that helmet somewhere before. That or I've been looking at that picture for too long.

the armor looks more spider-like to me, especially the helmet with the eight eyes. it could be a daedra associated with mephala.

I see your point, but I still see the shell like design.

I just hope a dev comments on this soon, if we don't got info about this at E3 then this is going to be one speculative ride.

if i didn't know better i'd say the armor looks organic as if it came from a living being, specifically a chitinous layer like the ones you see in bugs.

perhaps this is the new design for the chitin equipment.

so you can put me up as for believing that this is a falmer wearing chitin armor

I went into GIMP and revamped the picture as much as i could. The nose now clearly connects to the mouth, as i noticed when i zoomed in. There were also subtle colors that indicated rust/tarnish elements on the armor, indicating that its metal. There was hints of red on the ends of the spikes as well. see what you think:

to me it looks more like pigmentation than rust though, i still think it's more of a material similar to a bug's shell.

HMMMM

Ears, nose and mouth all look like a bat. I'm making a list of fantasy creatures that are humanoid and look like bats, and the list is very short.

Either way, the spikes are hands-down Daedra. That the only place weve seen spikes exactly like those int TES.

Oh, my head is spinning with all these possibilities... I'm *almost* convinced that it is something relating to daedra. Beyond that, I am back to having not a clue... :flamed:

Well, as far as the giant goes, yes--that is for certain. ;)

As far as the other thing--that mystery creature thing from the first pic...? All I know is that it looks like something I'd be happy to rain destruction, death, and chaos upon...err... :poke:

http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh78/IgniteStudios/conceptenchanced.png, at the moment I'm settling for something Daedra.lol All I know though those eyes appear to be part of the creature so I guess it takes Scamp away from the equation.lol Edit: You may also want to zoom out to get rid of some of the looks the sharpening gave it.lol

The shoulder on the left of the pic clearly has spikes on it, and it looks a bit crustacious. But who knows. Theres definately claws on the lower part of the helmet, and daedra spikes on the shoulders. but then again, theres 8 eyes exactly, which shouts "spider." an dthen the mouth looks like a bat, only a bit.

If only we could see his whole gauntlets. The way they flare, they could end in a sort of claw shape.

Aha, I bet it's a mudcrab redesign!

The two pics are the same creature... my sig proves it (just like my previus post)... the helmetless pic does not have those eyes... no eyes at all... scamps don't have eyes (in Oblivion)... Danger Dan is right...
What other creature resembles that thing and don't have eyes...

The first pic is clearly some sort of daedric creature - look at its armor, it's a crazy black/red daedric design

If the second pic is the same creature, then it may be some new kind of dremora-like sentient humanoid daedra

I would also say falmer but who knows,It looks like it would make a annoying noise if you encountered it in-game. So on those grounds it might just be a scamp or goblin. MY hope is that its a ice vampire, because i think it would offer me more game play wise then falmer ever would, but my instinct is telling me falmer.

I hope that it's not an ice vampire. Those should be much more fearsome.

Since when do scamps not have eyes?
