New NERD TREK Q&A Released !

Post » Tue Aug 30, 2011 5:49 am

I was so sure that pete had confirmed it on twitter...but looking back it seems that at least personally, I got so caught up in our theories that upgrading armor could only mean a change in physical appearence.

I found this

http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1222585-new-pete-hines-interview-at-gamescom-gamespot/page__st__40__p__18377774__fromsearch__1#entry18377774

Which is where I basically confirm it in my own head even though all pete says in the interview is that we can upgrade armor (he doesn't say it chagnes the look)....and at that point it only meant one thing to me : an explanation of the orc pictures

I remember that .
Now you'll have to find another explanation .
Pete never confirmed that armor visually changes after upgrading it .
BootySweat Knows everything he can confirm .

I still have a feeling that there was a question asked directly on twitter....and asked about the pauldrons specifically....but with people searching and finding nothing (as I also did) it just bothers me! Can you delete things off twitter? I'm just very, very confused now. I've been searching for a thread about petes twitter confirmation, yet found nothing...

Regardless, still gonna be nice to have a variation of armor if visible upgrades are out (just really hope that the pauldron type is steel where the near identical one is iron...no laziness beth!)

Actually with H2H sounding so bad, stealing their weapons (& armor) might be ridiculously great (minus mages/creatures).

Weapons = Weapons

Items = Armor&Necklace - Right? Could it really be anything else?

A question was asked concerning the pauldrons specifically on the bulletproof radio podcast , but Pete didn't answer the question directly and went on telling us the same stuff about crafting that we already knew

Isn't a "reanimated zombie" kinda redundant?

Yeah... perhaps it's a zombie that has been killed and re-re-animated. :P

Just like he dodged the arena question , which then turned out to be just a cover up for a simple "no" .

They also dodged Vampires and Werewolves since the very beginning and we now have one of those confirmed.

I wanna know this too. Its the only thing that really disappointed me in the interview. I thought with smithing you could add pauldrons, straps and so forth (we even have pictures as sort of evidence for this), and I thought Pete confirmed it as well. I hope that it was just a misunderstanding in this interview and that changes made to armor are still apparent and viewable.

Somebody Tweet Pete! There is still hope for visible results of smithing armor!

i am VERY satisfied with all of this information, pickpocketing and smithing both sound very awesome.

i just cant think of much more to add... i am extremely excited! :mohawk:

the new info is a double-edged blade, though... while it excites me even more... it also makes the wait for skyrim even more painful and slow.

equivalent exchange, i suppose.

Conjuration has it’s own skill tree. You start off only able to summon ONE. Eventually you WILL be able summon up to TWO Atronachs or Reanimated Zombies though.

I hope he is using those as examples, he makes it sound like those are the only things you can have 2 of.

I'm gonna assume the worst for now so when I'm proven wrong I can be surprised.

All this is very cool. Expect that fact that underwater content is going to be a very small part of the game. Well, can't have everything.

Because I was never a fan of pickpocketing and Smithing so far doesn't really interest me I voted the new spouse information.

I think it is great that we can send them to do stuff since it cuts down on our time.

I would think I would send my wife to go collect lots of items for my potions and then I could come home and just make them all!

Can't wait for this damn game!

Assuming you actually succeed at pickpocketing them. Otherwise, you'll have to face a decently equipped enemy at full health who's pissed at you and is ready to alarm his friends. Worse, with all the perks you have to take to (apparently) get any mileage out of the skill, you're weakening yourself elsewhere. Still not impressed with pickpocketing.

Ditto for Smithing. I hope I'm wrong, but by the looks of things, you need to invest in perks in order to craft using different materials. What a waste.
