New NERD TREK Q&A Released !

I'm also a bit disappointed about the pickpocket perks. I was hoping the skill would influence general stealing as well, but it seems we will have to sneak around shops again to pick something from the shelves. :(

No magic finishers is meh, too.

EXCELLENT interview work. Thank you for all the info.

What I very much want to know, though, is whether or not you will be able to marry more than once in the game (o.e. have a different spouse in different holds) And ALSO, does the one companion rule mean you get only one companin choice through the entire game, or that you can have multiple companions, but that only one of them at a time can actually go anywhere with you?

I believe they've said you can only have 1 companion with you at a time, though you can have more than one companion.

Have a dog, marry a wife/husband, hire a merc/goon, walk with the town idiot.

A very nice read. Thanks!
Why is Ebony above Daedric? 0.o

They are probably not in order and the trees will not be linear they will have different branches.

they said that upgrading items with smithing doens't change the appearence....but pete hines said that it does (and explains all the obvious pictures of upgraded armor)

now im confused!

I wanna know this too. Its the only thing that really disappointed me in the interview. I thought with smithing you could add pauldrons, straps and so forth (we even have pictures as sort of evidence for this), and I thought Pete confirmed it as well. I hope that it was just a misunderstanding in this interview and that changes made to armor are still apparent and viewable.

Slightly disappointed about the Conjuration news. I had hoped that the skill tree may give us more Morrowind-esque summoning (you can summon multiple summons, as many as you want, just not more than one of the same type). However, that said, im glad that multiple summons are at least in in some form. I had just hoped itd be more. But certainly better than nothing.

I wonder what the Conjuration skill trees are then. Perhaps a focus on undead vs. Daedra? Thatd be cool. I much prefer undead over atronachs and daedroths and clanfeara.

summon as many as we want?u mad?that would destroy consoles lol

I like the confirmation of Daedric quests and the new gameplay options once you are a guildmaster. I'm also quite happy that my hermit will be able to sleep in the woods!

We've bloody known we could kill things with our fists for a long while now. What we want to know is if we can get better at punching! :obliviongate: To Oblivion with it!

Hope we don't need to get the 50% gold perk to get the others. . .that seems the most useless. Bet we will though. .

Seriously? Stealing armor and weapons Equipped??

Exactly. This is obviously a misunderstanding/taken out of context/honest mistake. I'll go by the screens I've seen with different pauldrons/straps. I'll let everyone else freak out and jump to conclusions as usual.

Why would pickpocketing perks affect other types of stealing?

Because on its own, it's quite a weak skill to justify taking priority over acrobatics, mysticism or hand-to-hand. And now we have three skills that essentially govern stealing (sneak for itmes in the open, pickpocket for items on NPCs, lockpicking for locked items). Seems quite redundant!

I'd guess that the differences we see in armors are not due to upgrading. Possibly you can choose a specific appearance while forging, but after that, it's permanent.

Pickpocketing still seems kind of a waste of a Skill slot. I guess we'll have to see how it actually plays out; I hope they give me reasons to pickpocket, unlike Oblivion.

Oh and the perk for ALWAYS being able to pickpocket Keys seems kinda weird to me. Does this means we might see a lot more locked doors and people actually HAVING the key?
In Oblivion like 99% of the doors were open and/or locked with keys you would get during a quest.

There could be other explanations for that , but I remember pete saying a couple of times on twitter that upgraded armor doesn't look different from standard armor .

Where's Chainmail and Mithril armor? Can we forge them with Smithing?

I could see chainmail under steel armor as the light variation not sure on mithril depends on lore and im not sure who creates it was it elven like in lotr .Or maybe they are gone i dont know just trying to explore all possibiltys.

No, he's mentioned the different pauldrons being a result of Smithing on twitter.

@SlyHound Pickpocketing will probably play a large role in the Thieves Guild and even the DB for planting poisons.
