I kind of like the new bottles but eh, the old ones were okay, too.

SO You guys do not remember Orbitz cola.
In a nut shell it was a pop with little uhh geletin BB's that floated around in it.
Twas basically like drink a cold soda and having slimely little snot balls (texture) choking you. Design teams are not always brillant heheheh
Doesn't bother me none. If anything, it's quite fitting for the name.
It kind of reminds me of the Stubby Beer bottles that were once common in Canada until the mid 80's.
Yeah, I tried to Google some pictures of the squat little Pepsi bottles I vaguely remember us getting in the 70s/80s (they were 8 or 10 oz), but I couldn't find any. They didn't taper as much at the top, though, so it was more of a barrel/cup shape. And obviously no fins.
It is that stuff molecular chefs use agar I believe and not Tapioca pearls
... Lols lie iot was somehttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gellan_gum
That sounds awful! It looks kind of cool though.
I found a link ~ http://content.time.com/time/specials/packages/article/0,28804,1913612_1913610_1913561,00.html
It does not suprise me that you people of course do not like this. If any of you actually buy fallout 4 and play it i will be astounded
Actually, I'm one of the people frequently defending the game against the NMA-ish crowd, and who prefers FO3 to NV. Doesn't mean that I can't have an opinion on the aesthetics of a soda bottle.
(And even beyond that... the tone of this thread hasn't seemed remotely close to anti-Beth/"modern Fallout svcks" fanboyism.)
Soo which old style coke bottle do you prefer?
http://ubersuper.com/history-of-the-coca-cola-bottle/
I like the first three with the edge going to the first one due to the cork.
I like the new look, but it always bothers me when pre-war stuff is redesigned. I like the new vault suit too, but it makes it difficult to think what the canonical look of things is when they change from game to game.
The vault suits are closer to the way it was in the original Fallout.
Yeah, and I liked that. After Vegas's armored 13 suit, I chalked the style differences up to graphical differences. Guess now I'll pretend that the Vault Dweller and Doc Mitchell's wife were fat and the Courier could'nt find a form-fitting suit.
Coke in Mexico isn't completely different, it used to be just they used cane sugar instead of corn. That was the difference. Nowadays, that isn't so true.
Actually, the soda company who puts out the product, says that. It's apart of their marketing, drawing the eye to their soda/product, and away from the competition.
Look up Mrs Butterworth sometime. they used to have all kinds of odd bottles
I can see this being a "serious" topic of discussion as it relates to lore and immersion. Just remember that the 50's and 60's, which pre-War Fallout was basically based on, was a time in which gimmicks* were very prevalent. Test markets and fancy special editions abounded. Boston could have been a test market to see how they performed. As I recall, vending machines were a little different then. Instead of dropping your change into one and it popping out a slot in the bottom, you actually had to open a small door/window and then pull the bottle out. Example: http://www.greatestcollectibles.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/Coca-Cola-1.jpg If the slots were square, large enough to hold the extra fins, or the bottle was placed in backwards (with the fins closer to the consumer) it would work fine for the vending machines of the times. I would laugh if there is a neat label or graphic on the bottom of the bottle for that purpose.
As to whether I like the new bottles, I am completely meh about the subject. They are cute, in that retro-50's marketing context but I'm not really enthused about the design. I can totally see them being a thing so it doesn't really bother me.
*Gimmicks never really went away, but American marketing was truly becoming a powerhouse in those days. Everything under the sun was tried to sell products, even not so safe ones.
