NEW NVIDIA BETA DRIVER = FAIL

^^This is the new driver's thread on nvidia site.
This piece of chit causes random GPU spikes and causes cards to run hotter, my no.1 580(direct CU2) was always way cooler than No.2(vanilla).
Check this out>>

I had something similar (not with 2.80), and it was my voltage on one card auto-bumping higher than before even with no load. I forget the details -- but that was the insight that helped me track it down. Afterburner your volts and check it out? Also wondering if it goes back to the old behavior when you revert the driver to 275.xx...

Back to 275 and all is well again, no spikes and no strange temps, if you check out the new Beta's thread this is what folks are reporting, they're sayin' it's messing with voltage and GPU Core clocks, something we REALLY don't need right now, seeing as it's been four months we've been pissing about with this game.
In the big picture C2 is gonna go down in his-story as a fail too, don't get me wrong i know it's fantastic and many people are dedicated to it including me, but nonetheless take a step back and see we're the small minority enjoyin' it.
I just hope in BF3 i'm not lookin' for Cloak and NanoVision every second. :P

Come to think of it, and regarding thread title, I'm trying to think of a reason not to revert to 275. This one just gives me flicker, and now that you mention it -- my temps are wrong too. I already play MP dumbed down, and I was hoping this driver would clear some of the stutter I still get in some maps. Doesn't seem to.

Sorry for slight de-railment in my last post Chance but yeah, this piece of caca(two months in the makin') had everyone hoping for a C2 performance boost which for some people would have made the game playable.
Maybe we'll get a boost when the Whql or whatever the fu-ck it's called gets released but i wouldn't count on it, anyways just played a nice smooth SP game there on ultra with the 275 and it was fine.
If i had to recommend just one thing to folks that would make game run better it would be to keep your CPU cool, customize your CPU cooler if you need to, that's what i done.

Look at state of GPU1 temp in first post, that's the one the Beta caused to spike, now back to 275, nice and steady again >>

Yeah I noticed how my card gets hotter too, but at d same time, my random crash is somewhat fixed in this beta driver so i'm still happy xDD

Maybe it's just the 5 series that's effected, among other things this new driver boosts GPU voltages, something you can do manually without the erratic temps and spikes, but if it's good for you then that's what counts.

It's nothing new for NVIDIA to ramp up the temps and such with their drivers. Just look back a year when NVIDIA had to withdraw drivers causing card failures. What's up with NVIDIA lately, AMD getting to them again?
