[WIPz] New OBSL Oblivion Style Bethesda logos

Check them out on YouTube, in HD: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6vFH5XwzEM, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrkVwigHmb4

So as the YouTube descriptions say, since my Morrowind hasn't been working, I needed something to make that I wouldn't have to test ingame, so I made these. I sat down, used patience, and made them good. Only there's a problem, Morrowind's binkw32.dll doesn't support 1080p, so I either need to convert them to standard definition crappiness, or somehow get help making Morrowind play 1080p videos.

Newest MCP 1.9 has this option:

- Hi-def cutscene support. Allows mods to include cutscenes up to 2048x1024 (the default maximum was 640x480).

But I'm not sure if it affects opening videos, or only in-game cutscenes. Someone should ask Hrnchamd.

I did some testing for MCP 1.9 on videos and you can now increase the quality of the videos - be aware that they the bik. files will naturally grow in size and I normally find there is a trade off with compression quality versus file size - typically one second = 30 frames = 1mb

If you release improved logo's you have to ask yourself why - when most people probably hit the escape button to move along or if they have MGE don't even get to see the opening vids - MGE by the way applies shaders across bik files which is annoying

Your mod will need to be dependent on MCP otherwise it will CTD - I would sometimes get strange CTD's with larger vids but this was random and I believe i narrowed it down to trying to launch the game from the datafile loader screen instead of the main exe.

Every little improvement helps, so it would be great to see 2048x1024 logos.

Awesome! After I'm done with this I'll be able to remake the other Morrowind cutscenes as well!

Well than, I guess this will require the MCP, not really a problem, most people use it now anyways.

As to why I'm making these, this is why:

They will be 1920x1080, most people don't even have monitors that go that high anyways, so going up to 2048x1024 (which I believe is 2k resolution, near that of IMAX) would be pretty unnececary.

I guess I can probably release this relatively soon then, I have the files as .bik's on my computer, so I'll just have to package those.

As for filesize, there's no need really to worry either, the videos are only around 10-15 seconds each, and they are well compressed, so each file is around 10 mb.

What is the issue with your Morrowind not working SWG? I'm very interested in seeing that issue rectified for the sake of P:C.

Ever since I installed the new MGE it hasn't been working, I'm gonna update my DirectX and Net framework once I'm back in Ottawa though, so hopefully it'll work then, we'll see.
