My new orc play through & backstory

Post » Sat Mar 22, 2014 4:53 am

Kinda like how this is coming together so thought I would share (if u into that sorta thing ;)

Using Alternate Start so was able to start off in Dushkin Yal... since I wanted to do an Imperial Civil War play through this seemed to make excellent sense, especially since Ghorbash served in the Legion! Since you can’t start Civil War without kicking off the main quest I dreamed up Ghorbash still serving in the Legion and tasked with investigating Helgen... perfect back-story!

Mal gro-Dushnikh - will become known as “The Mountain That Rides”

six/Race: Male/Orc

Background: I am the 4th and youngest child of Murbul, the wise woman of the orcish stronghold of Dushkin Yal. My oldest brother, Oglub, works the mines. My 2nd oldest brother, Burguk, is the stronghold’s chief. The 3rd born is Ghorbash, who I have always looked up to and missed since he left to join the Legion to fight in Skyrim’s Civil War and bring honor to our name. Yesterday he returned and is on a mission to investigate war activity near Helgen. Since I have come of age I have been allowed to join him on his mission, after which we will travel to Solitude so I can officially enter the ranks of the Legion and bring honor to my family and our stronghold.

Skills: Heavy Armor, One-Handed/Shield, Block, Smithing, Archery, Enchanting

Restrictions: No Sneak, Alchemy, or Magic (except some Restoration)

Factions: Imperial Supporter, Companion, Vampire Hunter

Level 2 Health One-Handed Armsman 1/5

Level 3 Health One-Handed Armsman 2/5

Journal

Sundas, 17th of Last Seed, 4E 201

We left early taking the road east. After leaving The Reach, for the first time in my liffe, we turned south into Falkreath Hold and travelled along the southern shore of Lake Illinalta. Other than a few wolves along the way the travelling was easy and fast. When we got close to Helgen we could smell the scent of flesh burning... a dark plume was visible miles away. As we neared the gates a deep roar echoed off the mountains and Ghorbash and I turned our gaze upward as a large flying lizard flew through the smoke and make it’s way north, skimming the lake water before heading high into the mountains to the north and out of sight...

Rough:

Hadvar & Ghorbash know each other... Hadvar brought us to Alvor after I saved him in the cave... Alvor asked us to warn Jarl of Whitehold. I asked him if we could use his forge and he asked for some help clearing out some bandits in the nearby Embershard mine as his ore supply has run dry. We agreed to a morning assualt on the cave! The elf Faendal agreed to join us...

Hmmm "The Mountain That Rides" sure is a cool nickname. I wish I could come up with unique, original stuff like that.

The best nickname I've seen for an Orc is "Stone tooth" gro-Gronk. :D

Sounds like a great time! Just hope the orc does not cross paths with my Dwarf...bad things will happen, bad things. Keep us posted.

He's easily the most badass character I've read about, and I'm not just trying to be nice either. :D

Cheers Hagrid! he's inspired by a few people from films and books I've read. :D

Best way to create interesting characters imo. See what makes a character interesting in a film or book and then use that but with your own imagination too.

Holy ASOIF (Game of Thrones) references batman!!
Your back story is pretty good though. I think Orcs can be difficult to Role in Skyrim sometimes because almost all Orcs are in the stronghold and so very traditional (unlike Oblivion).

I've thought of doing something similar and using the height slider to make him nice and short. :)
