New Patch - Does it solve problems?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 6:57 pm

Just wondering if the new patch that came out 5/23/2011 really solves problems.

Problems such as:
-Frame Rate (specifically fps for ATI users)
- etc. (anything else improved or fixed worth noting)

I thought it was supposed to fix the loss of sound issue...first game, just after I spawned...I lost all game sound.

I'm not an ATI user so I don't know about that, but here is what it didn't fix for me:

*Sound issues (it went out on the second map I played)
*Invisible teammates

It even added a bug where a text character isn't readable.

I'm not sure what the patch did (minus adding the text bug) honestly.

Didn't fix the OpenGL losing connection to driver issue, so games still unplayable.

they should issue a recall or at least allow you to skip the company name animations that you have to watch before the title screen so you aren't forced to be reminded of the companies that forgot to test the game at the minimum system requirements

So far my OpenGL problem has been solved. I am running a Nvidia 570 GTX (270.61 driver). I played this evening for two hours without it crashing which has never happened before.

The text problem is still there though.

270.61 driver ya mean? Try the latest beta on the nvidia website, big boost for my system.

Does it solve problems?

Well, no not really. Some ATI users have reported FPS gain. Some have reported none. Some have reported FPS gain offline, but online is still terrible. That's not really a fix.

The sound issue is far worse than before. It was only Refuel that was causing sound drop outs before, now it's every map. That's taken a bug and made it worse.

Corrupted text, randomly invisible players still exist. And a rarer one, my game just randomly closes every so often. Maybe only once every few hours, but it does it. No error, no nothing. Just closes and I'm back on my desktop.

In what way has it boosted your system?

Patch gave me a consistent 10+ fps. Maybe some of the problem isn't on Splash Damage's end...

Didn't do anything for me. Doesn't even look like a patch for me. It's more some kind of hotfix.

after the patch I played on Refuel map and the sound worked.. but after a couple of match it stopped in another map (not sure which was.. maybe Aquarium or Terminal or even another) + invisible enemies.. but the most annoying things I found it's the error sound when I finish my bar of using things (buff + bombs): normally when I have finished all the bars and I try to use a buff or to use a bomb it makes a single error sond telling me that I cannot use it.. but now after this patch I get continuosly even if I don't try to use the buff... it's pretty annoying.. anyone does the same?

I'm running on an ATI, and I still get horrible FPS for a cartoony-ish game.

I don't even notice a difference. If I hadn't known the patch was released, I would have just assumed nothing was patched yet.

We still have -
-startup crashes
-sound vanishing
-horrible fps
-text getting jumbled

The bad part is... since they claim to have fixed these things, they won't try to fix anything else now. Any problem now is going to be blamed on OUR end. Which may true... since the majority of us have bad computers, right?

I'm an ATI user, before the patch it ran smooth , now instead of fixing sound problem, they created a new one... terrible lag...

I'm already sorry I wasted money on this

new patch makes this game even worse to play. SD = incompetent. they have till the end of the week else im getting a refund.

new sound errors on maps that were ok.
my metabolism keeps resetting back to 0 even if i dont use it
worse fps than before
maps just turning into spawn raqes
people vanishing infront of me

this game is a disgrace at the minute.

last SD title i ever buy

soooo pissed at the moment and i feel ive wasted £200 on a gfx card to play this game, really not a happy bunny.
