New patch.. Dragons tougher?

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 6:37 am

I've run across two dragons since the patch today and I think they are tougher. First I see my first elder dragon he dispatched me with ease. Ok it's the first elder I've seen I guess they are tougher. Game reloads and now it's a frost dragon circling dawnstar.. Pretty easy right. Almost kills me. Had to use health potions to get out of it. Has anyone noticed this or was it a fluke.

I generally have no problems with Frost Dragons but then again I'm a Nord, as for Elder Dragon's yes they are quite strong, so your experience that that one isn't abnormal.

I wish they added more melee type attacks for the dragons. Now I just take cover behind a pillar or a rock and keep casting spells at them. They wont even hit me. They should be able to come close and grab me or swoop down from the sky at my helpless mage. Now they just land and try to kill me with shouts. They also need more hp in some cases.

I'm a nord aswell that's why I was so suprised how fast my health bar was dropping. I was even using my ebony shield of frost resistance. I really think they upped their damage per second with magic.

I was wondering the same thing. I fought 2 ice dragons since the patch and whenever they used their frost breath I noticed it did a lot more damage then it used to do. I think the dragons should be tougher than pre 1.02 but I was caught off gaurd when I lost 3/4 my health to the dragons frost breath attack...

I finished most of the quests, and am just out exploring. TBH, they got to being a nuisance, and I crafted some roflstomp swords specifically to take care of them. Dragonrend, a few hearty whacks, now die and let me keep aroaming.

Some are claiming elemental resistances no longer work in 1.2.

I would not be surprised if that's true, patches have sometimes caused more damage in general then undoing the damage.

Dragons were tougher for me because they flew backwards at 10000 mph and straight through mountains, the ground, etc. This never occured pre-patch. Hopefully your experience is different. (And mine, the next time I see one).

It seems to me that they are stronger. On my sword and board warrior I've never had any trouble whatsoever with Blood Dragons, but the two I've fought today gave me hell. I ended up using both Call Dragon and Storm Call in one battle to kill one of them.

Maybe we [censored]ed just enough that someone at B said, "they want tough dragons... we'll give them tough dragons!" I noticed much more challenging dragons as well. I thought it was due to the fact that I've moved up in levels, and these were the next stage of dragons. Could be the patch though.

Look at the dragon name to determine its strength. "Dragon" is the weakest. "Frost Dragon" is stronger (I believe? Unless it's just a variant of Dragon). "Blood Dragon" is stronger than that, and "Elder Dragon" is even stronger. I haven't encountered anything tougher than that, but there might be even stronger beasts out there.

This. Check this thread out. An Admin even posts saying they are looking into it.

Must be a fluke. I found out that the dragon walls will respawn not only dragons, but their treasure horde, as time progresses, so I did a tour last night of all the outside dragonwalls I found.

The elders were a 'little' more tough than normal, but once I figured if they were fire or ice weak, dual casting still stunlocked them for a quick death as usual.
