Remember that apocryphal thread awhile back that cataloged the Great Houses post-eruption? I desperately hope that is worked in.

This could be really, really good.

I think one of the files mentioned a telvanni tower, and IIRC, that old thread didn't say they were still present.

I was very excited when I first heard that the next DLC would be on Solstheim, but at the same time dissapointed that they would make an expansion that was already made less than a decade ago. I would also prefer if they came up with new lore/cultures, instead of re-using the Dunmer. I think Beth's creativity has gone way down, and now instead of creating new interesting things, they are looking backwards for it.

If we do indeed return to Solstheim, we will likely get some more Dunmer stuff, but I think that's what many fans want after they suffered such radical changes after the events of Oblivion and onwards. Things could be very different. Interaction between surviving Dunmer (and all their Boeth-ala politicking) with the Skaal, as well as seeing what happened to the budding Raven Rock colony, will be an interesting thing to see. It may be titled "Dragonborn", so I think that even if we return to familiar soil, the change in climate may be pretty drastic.

It does indeed look pretty convincing... and now is probably the most interesting time to visit Solstheim. I may be a pessimist, so I shall just hope that it is adequate. Also, http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1361197-pentannual-census-of-the-houses-of-morrowind-post-red-year-4e-166/ is the thread you mentioned. before my time, haven't read it yet.

It's an excellent thread.

As for creativity and looking backwards, you're right. The thing that I think fans want most in a DLC is more Thalmor-related stuff, or an expansion on the repercussions of Stormcloak Rebellion and the Great War, and Solstheim is probably the last place to look as regards that. Solstheim may be at it's most interesting when it's full of refugees, but all the same it is probably among the least interesting places on Tamriel in 4E201 in terms of far-reaching repercussions, prophecy and political intrigue.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the Dunmer and all the alien cultures of Tamriel, but I think that the Nordic culture as presented in vanilla leaves much to be desired, and that should be the focus of at least one of the big expansions; and if we must go outside Skyrim, Orsinium would have been the perfect place since it's too small to have it's own game and it's conveniently on the border.

Massive speculation: Which interesting Lore figure links the Dunmer, the Red Mountain, Skyrim, and the title "Dragonborn", and has been much lacking in revelation in TES V, which is the perfect place to expand on it?

Wulfharth!

This thread is going to be so much raising of hopes before they are all dashed to the ground.

i'm wondering why they called it dragonborn, maybe the dlc will tie into the role and importance of being the last dragonborn. Wonder whats in solstheim that would make the dlc get its title

I loved Solsthiem, I loved everything about Bloodmoon. It will be interesting to see it 200 years later.

Moon&Star, keep in mind last we saw Solsthiem still has a high Nordic population.

I wonder this as well. Maybe there is a second dragonborn somewhere else in the north?
