there aren't enough bolt-action weapons to dictate picking the perk. not a terrible idea though

i have some ideas.

Blood lust
Req level-22
req skills- Melee 75 or Unarmed 75
Effect-when killing an enemy with a Melee weapon or Unarmed weapon you gain health for a few seconds. about 6 health for a kill on the first level of the perk 12 for the next level. (it can be taken twice)

Steady
Req level-18
Req skill-75
Effect-accuracy with all rifles is increased by 25%
All shotguns have 40% less bullet spread

Cowboy doesn't just affect lever-action firearms though, it effects revolvers, dynamite, hatchets and knives so if you wanted a perk to affect bolt action weapons then just take commando, it affects all rifles, or use a lever-action weapon.

Im not going for vats accuracy but it could effect other weapons.
Hard to add other weapons since the cowboy perk grabs the rest of the other firearms.

I agree, greedy guts cowboy steals all weapons  (lucky I like a scoped trail carbine and the mysterious magnum).

So do we need a perk for semi-auto, machine gun, SMG and Pistol? Then another one for blunt melee weapons?

IF there were enough bolt action weapons to merit a perk for them I would think it would be cool to increase the ROF instead of the dam. Maybe somethin like:

Bolt Action Boy/Girl ( I couldn't think of anything else )
Lvl 14
Req: Agi 6 Guns 70

You are a master of all bolt action weapons. You are able to fire 15% faster and all wear on your weapons are reduced by 15%. In addition you also retain 50% more of the casings you fire.

If any weapon type needs a perk I think it might be the bigger guns, though.

I've said this in another thread, but perks aimed at different sort of weapons would be a nice way to specialize. Especially if they open up new perks that relate to the same weapon type.
Say perks for lasers, plasma, shotguns, cowboy weapons, automatics, sniper, etc...

With the DLC they're taking more of a focus on weapon type specialisation..

So if not in a futre DLC, hopefully a new game will expand on this.

As I as many do tend to pigeon hole ourselves to a few pieces of equipment for role purposes.

While not wanting a single weapon type to be able to everything ( as this is bland imo ).
I do like perks that increase the effects of that choice's I've made both for role and game play.

I say the bolt action rifle perk should increase RoF, reload speed and maybe small spread reduction.

The perk should still effect DAM because cowboy repeaters match the hunting rifle in DAM and the cowboy repeater has a way higher ROF(Cowboy Perk).
I like the idea but in general the perk could effect one handed semi auto weapons like the,9mm pistol since people who carried bolt-action weapons general have a semi-auto pistol with them as backup.
This could make the 9mm round more effective also.

Maybe make a new name for the perk maybe:

Old Time Soilder?
Throw some name idea if you want.

Better name for it would be Mad Minute, in reference for the World war I British soldiers' training exercise that had them fire 15 or more accurate shots from 300 meters within one minute. Well-trained riflemen could fire up to 40 shots.

The problem is that a cowboy like perk for bolt-actions would make This Machine even more OP, because This Machine is classified as Bolt-Action.

Game Balance
lvl 30 requirement.
The game becomes balanced for lvl 30 demi-gods and is more of a challenge.
(Yeah I'm a sour mood.)

This machine is a semi automatic rifle modeled after the m1 garand so it wouldent effect it.

The game lists it as a Bolt Action rifle (It has to, or else it wouldn't have been held right). That's why you can repair it with Varmint Rifles, Hunting Rifles, and other Bolt-Actions and not Automatics like Assault Carbines, Sniper Rifles, and 12.7mm Submachine guns.

Yea its held like that, they just programmed it like that because it worked,o-well the weapon is still good anyways. If the cowboy perk uses the brush gun why not This Machine.

You don't have to include This machine in any such way.
You just form a new Form List of all perk related weapons and have it flagged as the perk requirements.

This way you could exclude any or all weapons that don't fit.

So saying This machine would be included is wrong ( unless NV's geck is far different than FO3's or oblivions ).

Why do you think that gun got left out it's relevant perk, because it was overlooked when someone compiled the form list for cowboy.

So any perk that has bolt action rifles as it's focus could just include actual bolt action rifles.

Or it could be made into a soilder grunt mod and include..

Service rifle.
Hunting rifle.
This machine.
9mm pistol.

So far this is what i have for the perk
Affects these weapons:
Hunting rifle
Varmit rifle
9mm pistol
10 mm pistol
Service Rifle?
12.7mm pistol
.22 pistol
Anti-Material rifle
Machete/Machete Gladuis
Frag Grenade

Seems like a decent list of weapons.

What's the common theme, other than "weapons not affected by the cowboy perk"?
