Todd did say the game was too big, then we see dungeons go from 180 to 150, now we see perks go from 280 to 220

Dang I am in paranoid mode again! :sadvaultboy:

When were dungeons ever 180? It went from over 100, to 120, 130 and finally 150 as far as I know. :shrug:
And technically, over 220 perks could still be 280!

Also, the 280 number included the perk ranks. For all we know, 220 might be without, so they actually increased the number of perks! :D

Up brings up the favorites menu and pauses the game. Left and right on the dpad are hotkeys for left hand and right hand. Those don't pause the game and are like the hotkeys in Oblivion.


Pheww. Thank you. That's probably why I got confused because I always thought he was pressing the left/right trigger to assign item/spell to hand. Not the left/right directional buttons.

Sure. 180 is a lot too, so is 100. However, that's irrelevant, as we're all expecting 280.

That was good; thank you for posting the link. :) aww, I thought the interviewer did ok...he asked a lot of questions and that was good. Not everyone knows everything we've seen and heard here. :)

I am not complaining about the perks, I am just worried that they may bump into the disc room problem again like they had with oblivion, even though they have solved that by now

So the bandits with rare armor has been fixed, I haven't heard anything about this so its new to me :D

220 perks? I thought there was 280


We've known for some time now that it was about 200 or so unique perks, with ranks raising that up to 280+

Fantastic interview, OP - thanks for posting! perhaps one of the best video interviews so far.

some interesting highlights

  • 220 perks (hopefully mistake)
  • bigger draw distance for PC and graphical settings tailored for powerful PCs (not unexpected)
  • couple of different dogs who can follow you
  • one companion at a time
  • new interface for moving companions around the world
  • UI scales for PC resolution
  • you can tell companions to fight specific enemies or move to targets
  • intention to release uncut version in Germany
  • he seemed to contradict Todd's comment that they are planning to release DLC that is "bigger than FO3 DLC" and on the expensive side

Yea when the favorites menu is pulled up it's left trigger/right trigger to equip it to left hand/right hand. But just pressing left or right on the dpad will switch out items on the fly automatically to left hand/right hand.

Thanks for the summary Booty. Did Pete say DLC will be on the smaller side, or bigger and more expensive like Shivering Isles? I don't know why I can't see the link to the video on the mobile version?

This is the first I've heard any of the devs mention any number other than 280.

I know some of the perks have ranks, but do you recall where you heard it would be 200 or so unique perks?

And is it not possible that Pete is talking about a total of 220 perks, including ranks?

I like that Pete mentions the inventory text scales for PC. He specifically mentions it won't be like Oblivion with like 7 items on a screen at a time, whew!

Also on the perks he says OVER 220. That's not a specific number. That means we could still have the 280 or whatever's been listed before.

It's not any new info as far as I can tell, but he elaborates on a few things. Plus it's over 10 minutes, so that's a bonus! :)

Sorry about the interviewer though. Aside from his accent, the constant urms and erms are quite annoying.

Great interview. Seemed like there were so many ums cause he was translating on the fly, which is entirly forgivable.

Also, good to know that we'll have options on what kind of dog ( wonder if thats the only animal companion?) and they can be given orders.

I think thats just a wishlist item. As in, they'll make the game how they're making it and hope German censors deem it worthy. Intention, to me anyways, reads as they'll make their game around the German censorship. Which would then lead to a tamer version for U.S. gamers ( and others from more liberal societies).

Good, I hated seeing INVENTORY MAGIC STATS

Wonder if DarN would ever come back to do a Skyrim UI mod anyway....

He is not saying either, he just says we are looking at all the DLC from FO3 where they were all roughly the same size, but providing different sorts of experiences, and Oblivion DLC, where they ranged in size and scope, and they will find the sweetspot for the right kind of DLC at the right price.

Todd, on the other hand, in the Sept 2011 PSM3 magazine said the DLC would be more on the expensive side and it would be bigger than FO3 DLC.

Yea that's something we'll definitely have to wait until November to find out ourselves. I'm certain Vampires are in, werewolves i'm not so sure though. Hopefully they're in.

If either one is in it's not an integral part of the main quest and most likely a mini-quest or all around easter egg. Beth has said it over and over, they're not going to talk about it and why should they ruin all the fun extras in the game? Perhaps we'll get something much better and unexpected even, who knows?!
