New player here, got a question... My settlement says I have 16 settlers, so I built 16 beds.. However when i ring the bell I only count 13.

Do the other settlers that I sent away as traders still need a bed, even if they are not at the settlement?

You mean provisioners, on a supply line? If they're not nearby they won't show up when you ring the bell, but yes, they do need beds for whatever settlement they're officially assigned to.

They need the bed (and food/water) at their Origin settlement only, not the destination, fortunately.

Remember that your Charisma limits your max settlers and companions at a settlement but you can temporarily raise CHA by using clothes or chems.
