I was recently informed that Saban is bringing out a new movie for the Power Rangers. According to the Press Release, that is all the information that is Given. No news on whether it is a re-invention of the Series, or if it is a way to cap the current cast's series.

What do you all think? What do you want to see out of it?

Me? I want a Lightspeed Rescue Movie. It was my favorite Series out of all of them. That, or Bring back the cast from the Original MMPR (sure, bring in both Jason and Tommy, that would be cool) to do a "Once and Done" type thing where they are recalled to perform one last mission.

Wait, MMPR is still relevant? I didn't even think this show was still on. As for a new movie I ask....WHY and then go back to my original question of being relevant and still being on.

Saban Bought the rights back from Disney a few years back, and the new series have been more true to the PR franchise than Disney's crapola. Even going so far as to having two seasons with the same cast for each series. Super megaforce (or w/e it's called) is the second season of the current cast.

A rehash of a TV show that was made to sell toys? What's next, rehashing origin stories of Super Heroes? Oh, wait, they do that too.

There are many reasons why I have not been in a movie theater in almost 5 years, this is one of them.

Like I said, the show was still on? I honestly had no idea Disney even owned it because I didn't even know the show was still on and even relevant.

i'm not sure why people are surprised that Power Rangers is still a thing. kids love color-coded karate superheroes; that [censored]'s been running in Japan in one form or another since the mid 70s. as long as Toei and Bandai turn a profit letting Saban reuse props and footage, Power Rangers isn't going anywhere.

that said, teaming up with Lionsgate seems kind of big and it's pretty likely it's gonna be all original footage. i'm curious if it's actually full-on MMPR with Zyuranger costumes and [censored] or if they just namedropped MMPR because nostalgia and it's going to be its own thing.
