I own an older model PS3 ( i'm not sure how many gigs off the top of my head, but it is the bigger one that wont play ps2 games. ) Ok, so before 1.01 the game froze a little bit, but it was playable. Before it only froze if i put about 3-5 hours into it straight. To let you know where I am, i just entered Nipton for the first time and met the Legion. This is as far as I have come. Tonight, i downloaded 1.01 for the first time and tried to play for the first time in 3 days.

Since 1.01 here is what I have encountered

(1) I can not fast travel to previously visited places to a point. I can fast travel to Nipton and Primm, but anything north of that...the screen goes black and the music just loops. I have tried several places upon reloads( i have reloaded 7 times already ) and i can only fast travel to those two places without a crash.

(2) The game crashes when i try to access V.A.T.S. The screen freezes and the music loops. I can shoot and use iron sites, just not VATS.

(3) While trying to play it without fast traveling or V.A.T.S. I leveled from 6 to 7. When the level up occurred, it said level up and my battle with Geckos continued. When the battle was over ( usually the upgrade screen pops up ) it froze...just like when i enter VATS.

So far, this is what I have tried:

(1) I accessed the ps3 recovery menu and ran options 3 and4 ( restore file systems ( which looks for corrupted data ) and rebuild database ( which is like defrag ) ). Neither of these did any good.

(2) Used an older save data. When doing this, nothing changed. I still couldn't do any of the things listed above.

Waaa.. Gotta start over.
