My Brother had some good ideas about other types of charectors besides straight up Human that you could be in the Fallout Universe.

I was thinking if anyone had some ideas ...

here's what we talked about.

1. Ghouls- This would be cool, have some radiation perks, healed but it...

2. Super Mutant- Maybe your parents could have been in the master army? Some perks from that?

3. Nightkin- Some kind of invisibility perk? Maybe equal to having a stealthboy?

4. Robot- Any type of Robot, I'd perfer the Primm Slimm model. That'd be cool...

5. Alien- They've been in the Universe before so ...

6. Faction specific- Maybe a fiend or legion or Brother of Steel member? Something that would give your charector a specific quest or storyline that he wouldn't otherwise have ...

I'd replace this, what you call it, "Alien" thing with True, Pure Humans.
Fallout 1 is the only Fallout where we don't have to play as some wasteland mutant degenerate, I'd prefer playing as an actual human for a change.

Way to represent those good old fashion Enclave ideals! haha!

The problem is that adding these races would require people in the wasteland to react in different ways - as it is now it doesn't matter whether you're Caucasian or Asian or Hispanic, but it sure as heck will if you're a ghoul. Of course, they could just ignore this whole aspect and have everybody react to you in the exact same way, but if you've played Skyrim you know how jarring that can be.

I think the tech will catch up to it. I like different people reacting differently.

One of the things people talk about when they make arguments against online game play is that it will take away from the amazing single player experiance of Fallout 3 and New Vegas. It's a great argument but I think the technology will catch up and it will be done one day.


I disagree with that kind of thing, I mean, I never go to page, let alone, whatever page that's on. I don't think we should be required to go back to an old thread everytime someone wants to talk about something that's been talked about before.

No to alien and robot. This is a game where you are this person who does alot of important [censored]. Robots can only do soooo much if they got the right AI, and aliens would be killed by mostly everyone.

Super Mutants are sterile so you'd have to be experimented on FEV or dipped in FEV to be a super mutant. And all perks I can think of are those in Fallout:Tactics, Vatskin and some other Super Mutant-only ones.

If you knew anything about Space Monkey's, you'd know that they are a peaceful people who would never hurt another sould. Unless you took their space bannana ...

You could have artificial intelligence, a robot that thinks and feels like any real human.

Yeah, but then there wouldnt be much difference. Maybe a few benefits and penalties, but there would have to be alot of things they would implement in the game if you want a race that feels and thinks like humans. It aint worth it, and its kinda useless if you ask me. Aliens dont fit as something playable, unless they REALLY want to push fallout into a next generation RPG where you can RP almost everything with intel, that you can find in the wasteland. If they implement races like that, then fallout 4 would be big as [censored].

However, there was no real reason why the Plot Character couldn't be a Ghoul. It would be irony if the hero of the story is what most people deem monsters. Or it could be I like creating heros with "flaws", homosixual, mental illnesses, ect....

Edit: I am NOT saying being Homosixual is a flaw.. it is why I put it in quotes.. to some people and in game instances of the Legion and NCR, it is unacceptable.

I don't think you should ever get to play as anything but a human. However, I do hope these other "races" get represented in the next Fallout. I would like to see more super mutants (they were lacking in NV) and a ghoul town or something. Robots are cool. All versions of robits too. (eyebots, securitrons, turrets and sixbots)

I put the flaw in there because it is against Legion and from what we are to believe, NCR military. So I threw it in there. I think it will be something that nobody can agree upon.

And there must be many humans who despises ghouls for the number of Blight followers to decide personal risk of death is worth leaving. Therefore, it is still a flaw and racist is still present. It would be like assuming there isn't racism in United States.. there will always be unless something of human nature changes

Im not saying there isnt, just racism against ghouls isnt plentiful in Vegas. Sure some rich people, but no one else seems to mind. And NCR military doesnt have anything against homosixuality, they actually do have a lisbian in their army.

It is conflicting reports. Major Knight is not able too have relations but she is free too.

The rich people are the ones in control of Vegas (along with House).. so... therefore a ghoul hero would shake up the tree lol

I feel like we would generalize too much one way or another. You have instances of Ghouls serving in the military (granted in the most dangerous positions) and ghoul prostitiutes and stuff... But you also have the plight of the Brights and no concenses on majority of the settlements with no Ghoul present. It is hard to judge the degree of racism. But being a Ghoul would make the hero less perfect than a normal human... correct? A flaw... An adnormality

If you cannot agree on that then we will leave it to agree ot disagree and move on

I still think Ghoul should have a toggle. Maybe even a supermutant just to spice things up.
