New races?

Post » Fri Dec 18, 2009 6:25 pm

I would like to see the Falmer, The Aldmer and the rest of the Akavari's.
And indeed the dwemer aren't dwarves.

But I do think there will be new races.

I'd think the Falmers would be added, it seems to be the most logical race from the snowy mountains of Skyrim.

None. There are more than enough playable races and there is no need for additional NPC races for that matter. When you think about the wealth of them in this game series (three elven races, Orcs, two beast races and three Human races) there is no reason to complicate things more.

According to the poll the most of you want to see Werewolves in Skyrim!

Which doesn't even belong in the poll, really...werewolves aren't a "race", it's a condition that goes on top of the starting race.

Why is Nede even here? Nedes are just old Nords.

I'm aware of that, but I just wanted to know if there were any people who DIDN'T want werewolves in Skyrim.

I didn't know that while I was making the poll.

Can't we have an "other" option?

I'd like to see Falmer, well, not so much them, but their ruins and possibly a quest where you find out more.

And I'd definitely love to see Werewolves and any of the other Were 'creatures'. I think this one is self-explanatory.

Bah, I totally screwed up the poll. I didn't see the (non) part. ><

Honestly? I'd love to see ALL of them in the game, so long as they're relevant. I noticed that some of these races are extinct or supposedly extinct, so they'd be unlikely - but Bethesda could always find a way. After all, we did meet the "last" Dwemer in Morrowind. Perhaps we'll meet similar individuals in the new game?

It was not the last one, they said it was the last KNOWN Dwemer, that means there could be more.

I would like to see at least 2 or 3 new races to choose from when creating a character. I think it would add more diversity to the game

I can just imagine a massive underground city of the Dwemer, fully functional. Brown with loads of weird mechanisms. :celebration:

The Dwemer did build around east border of Skyrim next to Morrowind if I'm correct. And I'm probably not.

I would love to see Tang Mo added as NPCs. Perhaps even as a companion. After all, "kind, brave, simple, and often crazy"... that pretty much describes Minsc, doesn't it :)?

Ok, they're monkey folk, so perhaps a hyperactive Minsc with a tail. Now if that isn't comedy potential, I don't know what is - and what's a grim, epic quest without a bit of comic relief now and then? Grim and dreary, that's what!

I voted Sload, I'd love to see Mannimarco lead a full scale invasion on Summerset Isle.

I think Imga are the only real possibility for expanding the playable races. But I hope there not included, I like the 4 elf, 1 beast elf, 4 human, 1 beast human setup we have now.

And word of god says you are wrong. All of the dwemer, save for YB, is the golden skin of the Numidium, and will remain that way, until another dev comes along and retcons that.

I still think that (after Skyrim) Beth's next game needs to be a "prequel" set in the Mythic Age. Imperials would be more Greek inspired, Nords would look like bronze age Celts or Gauls, and Races like Falmer and Dwemer would still be around.

It's on record that the TES main series will always go forward in history, never backwards. It's the spinoffs that can jump around though.

Really? I feel like that's a terrible limitation. I mean, I'd understand the desire to have a good chronology? But I still think there's a lot of history in the lore that would be insane to revisit, like the Battle for Red Mountain.

The only limitation is the main series won't go back, but Beth can still do time periods they wish to do.
