New Roleplay Idea

Post » Mon Jan 04, 2010 7:02 am

I like to play beast races pretty exclusively, mainly denizens of the Black Marsh. In my attempts to create a new Argonian character, I got the idea to make a runaway slave. But not just any runaway slave. Remember http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Haj-Ei? He's my new character. Have any of you ever taken Morrowind NPCs to roleplay in Oblivion? If so, who and how? What do those of you who haven't think of the idea?

It's pretty difficult to roleplay a runaway slave in a province where slavery is already illegal (it was only legal in Morrowind, and only in TES III period). At much you can set that as the background story for your char, and a excuse for living in Elsweyr, if you're on PC and have "Elsweyr: Deserts of Anequina" mod installed.

I think it sounds like a fun idea. Sure, slavery isn't legal in Cyrodiil, but there are still enough Dunmer around to feel skittish, or even paranoid. IMO there's lots of room for character development, since being a slave will have had some effect on him -- and that particular Argonian dealt with it in such a clever way ^_^ He could be bitter or hopeful, or even be having trouble accepting that he's free for good now. Lots of directions to take.

I remember one guy couldn't be freed, he's in a cave west of Molag Mar. Even though it was just faulty coding, the fact that he stayed put always gave my Muse several ideas about who he could be. He could be fun to roleplay too.

I haven't immigrated any Morrowind NPCs, but did start Oblivion with an Orc whose adventures started in Seyda Neen. He never did do the MQ, and I wasn't at all surprised when he reached Cyrodiil and told the Blades where to put their invitation
