If you cant see your opponent n your sceen you CANNOT mellee them. I'm sick of getting air mellee'd when I'm over 10 ft above my opponent.

While I have the floor wouldnt it have been nice if we all had the ability to do the air stomp, and if power mode was actually a legitimate mode.....Seriously does anyone actually run a setup that doesn't consist of stealth or armor enhance?

1. That already is a rule, interpolation makes you think it isn't a rule. Remember, these servers are client side calculated.
2. If everyone had air stomp that'd be more annoying that everyone having a k-volt.
3. I do not run around in any mode either than power, when I get to a dog fight, or suspect one, that's when I flick on armor mode.

1. Not exactly, lag often makes it look like they aren't hitting you on the cam, but I tested melee a lot. Its very consolised compared to crysis wars. Crysis wars melee was 1 hit kill in power mode, but it was used fairly rarely, this is because you had to accurately hit them. The melee in crysis 2, is an area of effect attack, slighty wider than your body and as high as your body. This means that you can melee at the ground and hit someone at your head height, but the same does not work for meleeing people below you if you are in the air. Lag affects jumps quite a bit, as they can hit your afterimage thats still at that their headheight with the melee AOE attack.
2. yeah, air stomp is potentially good, they should need to make a tactical perk choice to use it.
3. Yeah, its tough to choose between armour enhance 3 or nano enhance 3, I think if a player can consistantly kill before their regular armour goes down then nano enahnce is the better choice.

Yeah, that may be true, but the OP's post says you can't melee someone you can't see on the screen, which he is assuming, because I'll bet ya 100 bucks he's getting killed like this:

1. He get's melee'd by a guy he doesn't know the location of
2. He super jumps assuming he's safe
3. He dies to a second melee 30ft in the air

The reason for dying while you think your opponent can't see you is client side lag. If the person, still sees the other person on his screen, and uses melee, and the shot is accurate on his screen, then the action will go off, regardless of where his victim is.

Yeah exactly, we are basically saying the same thing. Usually however the kill cam does show the jump lag. Though recently i've seen kill cams where it looks like they are throwing a ranged melee o.O.

When its laggy its annoying as you sometimes don't hear or feel their damage until you are dead.

So a player throws a melee on Halo's back or shoots a bit, Halo jumps and Halo hears/feels the first melee at the same time that the second hits him in the air. Wham bam thank you mam.


Actually another more likely case is poling lag. So someone has fired an ion cannon and a player has come across Halo and is meleeing Halo to repeated death. The other player can still see where Halo was due to the server lagging, and is meleeing the crap out of him. Halo is getting melee spawn pwned. In this case the first player can still see Halo even though Halo on the other side of the map.

I saw someone get 15 kills in this way. That was very poor. I've died 5 times in this way. Some times its annoying when you have a good k/d, like 30/2 then server lags and you die 10 times lol, however it has to be expected on lagline map.

If everyone has Air Stomp I'd suggest making it use 30 energy or something just for a bit of balance :)

The melee in this game is buggy as hell

I use neither Armour enhance nor Stealth Enhance (I only use Armour Enhance in my MK60 class)

Melee isn't buggy at all, its just AOE and the rest is usually lag.

They usually are XD. Its the melee dance. If both people try to get behind each other or try to turn to catch up with the other person, you get the melee dance if you are watching it.
