New sandbox features?

Post » Sun Feb 22, 2009 4:08 am

So, what do you think the new Sandbox will have, or SHOULD have?

I just hope it is simple enough for me to understand, and I hope all of the systems have it!

I agree! Hopefully they can add more features, like better smoke list or any items that comes with the game. I wonder if we will be able to load older crysis maps with the new editor as well making cryengine 3 to work with the older crysis map? We still love the first one and still do make maps and mods for it. But this new crysis may take a new higher bar to a different element and setting! I'm looking forward to kick alien butt in New York city. I bet they do look at New York carefully to make sure it's accurately New York! :D Landmarks and etc. Are there gonna be hidden easter eggs in this? :)

You guys can only hope.

In one of the tech demo's, they showed the Sandbox 3 editor in action. I assume it will look like that. In most cases, it will be the same, only with alot of improvements to a few features.

This kind of talk WILL not be permitted here. I was a moderator on gamesas and crymod for over a year and just because I stepped down from my role doesnt mean I can sit back and let you talk like that. Piracy is wrong. Reported.

XSI is a free 3d modeling tool that is supported by ce2 and most likely ce3. Blender I believe is free and google sketchup can be used with ce2 as well. There are tutorials on sketchup on crymod.com

Who mentioned piracy lol - if you cant take a, what i thought was obvious, joke then im happy you have no power. The only people i will listen to as far as going to far are Crytek staff or real, not has-been, moderators.

You need to chill, take a step back and read what i said :P

the editor will be advanced so it will allow us players to create more crazy mods/maps.

i mentioned in another topic that a basic editor should be added for people who will play this on 360/ps3. obviously (I think anyway!) you couldnt add a full sandbox editor to the console, but perhaps you could have a simple one that allows you to make simple, yet fun maps.

perhaps they should have something like that for PC as well? if you dont want to study flow charts and learn every terminology involved with the new sandbox editor, you could use the SIMPLE editor and make something quick to enjoy (:

it shouldnt be too hard to implement something along those lines. I could be easily mistaken though of course.
