Don't just focus on the graphics. Focus on the overall art direction. It's pleasing to the eye. The characters match nicely with the background. The composition is overall pleasing. A game I would play for hours straight.

Same.

This is most likely because they are trying to keep the polygon count low in the model to keep from lagging when getting close to the mammoth. If subsurfaced it will increase the number of polygons, also the fact that faces need to be triangulated which increases the polygon count even higher. The higher the polygons, the more lag, most game engines limit a certain amount of polygons.

Yeah, sacrifices need to be made. Better it be lower polygons in the tusks than the faces. To the original poster: Just play Morrowind or Daggerfall for a couple hours and you'll greatly appreciate how far we've gone in one generation of Console gaming within this regard.

That "fire pit" seems like some kind of BBQ.

Fire pit?

The Big Fire Pit in the middle of the hall. Where the fiery yellow light is coming from. Anyway it doesn't look like it would be used for cooking, more for warming the whole hall up.

BTW, i don't think that's a hall, I think it's a tavern or inn.

I thought that too, at first, but if you look at his left shoulder (the right side of the screen) it looks like a similar if not the same thin metal spaulder we've been seeing on a lot of the Dovahkiin images. Same shape and curve and lightfastness but the armor and harness are quite different.

So... maybe seperate pauldrons from cuirass? Maybe just tons of cuirasses with different pauldron combinations as set?

I predict a lot of storming over this. At least until, and if, we see anything more definative at E3.

It looks like the same pauldron only with another angle and shadows/different lightning on it... Anyway. Hope it's only in some of the cuirasses, as I really loved seperate pauldrons in Morrowind. But meh, not that big a deal.

The guys in the second pic are Nords, thanks for the confirmation, vsions!

Mammoths?? More like Oliphaunts! Freakin Awesome. I sooooo wish we had a Nord, Redguard or Altmer standing near the giant to give us an idea of how big the Giants Are.
If they are twice the height of an Altmer, which would be awesome and make them true giants, then the mammoths are ENORMOUS!!!

And they look GREAT!

I think graphically it's pretty mediocre overall.

Artistically though, I love everything I've seen.

Now that is what a bald guy should look like. Grizzily and just plain awesome, really fits in the environment. Makes me want to go bald in Skyrim (kinda like real life)

Also noticed that the tusks on the Mammoths are different from each other. Really makes them look like unique animals.

Can't fricken wait.

This.

The faces and character models are a vast improvement over Oblivion, thank you Creation Engine!

And I love that the mammoths have four tusks and markings on each.

No, the tusks are actually exactly the same xD

EDIT: Or... were you talking about for each individual animal? If so then... yeah, you're right. They are AWESOME.

I think the right mammoth's tusks carve backward more than the left mammoth's tusks.

Maybe it's just the angle, but they look different to me. (doesn't matter they still look amazing)

I still think you're leading yourself to disappointment xD Even if they ARE the same! it's not a big deal, they are actually GREAT looking!

And am I the only one wondering how the next ES game will look like on the new generation of consoles?

Disappointment? I wouldn't care if each bloody creature had the exact same model as every other member of it species. I just see slight differences in the two mammoths' tusks. And I agree, they are great looking.

Our minds will literally be blown by the next Elder Scrolls game. Go anywhere in the real world and THAT is what TES VI will look and feel like.

Pretty disappointed by the mammoths texture. I hope the fur improves a bit on the PC version. :sadvaultboy:
The Redguard on the other hand is incredible. I would like to see more women, now!

All texture complaints are invalid until we see some PC screenshots. All these are from the Xbox360.
