@vsions
how are the other races coming along?

LOL I'm sure the character design for the races is complete and most of the game is already finished at this point.

Grass really hasn't changed sinced Oblivion. Hopefully it has an intelligent collision model or whatever you call it when you step into grass and it parts. (I'm actually curious to know the term if anyone knows)

All i know is modders made it happen for Morrowind with no major performance hit to regular PC's and nearly all FPS have it these days.

These screenshots are amazing. I love how Bethesda just whips out their hand. "I raise you A MAMMOTH!"

Stoked for E3 :)

That Nord reminds me of Ed Harris in A History of Violence.

I'm not understanding all of the complaining with the mammoth screen. It looks fine.

I can see a shadow on the ground on the mammoth to the right.

There are no shadows from the trees or rocks in the close background. That is easy to see. Especially with the trees.
Most likely explanation: shadows have a "view distance" as well, and that is pretty short, which we can see in this image.

Not that this bothers me that much. What would bother me more is how these shadows suddenly would pop up, which would be a huge immersion breaker. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

no big deal, but in this picture:
http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/252833_10150191377036404_131368351403_7044302_4843137_n.jpg

it seems to me, that the grass in the front should have a little snow on it. it seems pretty weird that 40 yards back the land is completely covered with snow, and there's no trace of snow on the grass...

It's no big deal, but that's how it seems to me.

As one who lives near the mountains this is actually quite common to see snow in places and 40 yards away no snow at all. Usually depends on how sunlight hits it (melts it). This spring the snow on my lawn melted and my neighbors across the street still had a foot of snow on theirs.

No one is really complaining, they are just examining the details. However, some aren't being very optimistic <_<

Not as much as waiting for the hub to update, but think of the amount of people watching the Skyrim demo thread.

The figure in the distance seems to kind of have a "snout" of sorts when you consider the way his nose and mouth are shaped. Possibly an Argonian - it's hard to see any real depth at this distance though. I also think that it may be a Dunmer due to the apparent lack of eyes - if they have the red beady eyes from Morrowind, that could explain it. As could killer dynamic soft shadows being cast on NPCs' faces, which we already know are in. :celebration:
